Cajun Honey Butter BBQ wings
Mike B.

I've written enthusiastically about Bar Bill in the Buffalo area. I was thrilled to hear they also had a "new" location in Rochester. (I say new because I haven't been in Rochester in three years) I mentioned this to the friends we were visiting and off we went. The hype I gave them was totally accurate as they loved Bar Bill as much as my wife and I did. Three of us had wings (lemon pepper, cajun honey butter bbq) and one ordered a chicken sandwich. We all enjoyed our meals immensely. We must of hit it lucky on a Saturday night because at 7:00, our wait was about ten minutes. Our server said the waits can be an hour or more. Service was excellent. You know you found a good place when your local friends tell you it took a visitor to show them a good place in their own town.

Great wings! Extra crispy with plenty of sauce. T We got medium wings and qaffle fries with beer cheese. Quick service and seated with mo wait. Casual and low noise on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Nice lunch!

The chicken wings and thin tempura battered onion rings were wonderful! The wings came with a cup of blue cheese and celery. The blue cheese had a distinct flavor and elevated the wings. Really enjoyed the crispy texture of the wings. Though I would prefer they were saucier. The wing sauce options were plentiful with unique flavor options to choose from. The overall atmosphere is your typical sports bar with TVs all over decorated with fun sports memorabilia and posters. Service was great. Didn't have to wait very long for our order. The woman's restroom could have been cleaner. Noticed a gross smell upon entering and there was trash on the floor throughout. Everything else was enjoyable; we left satisfied with the meal & service.

What a wonderful surprise here. Hints of your typical bar but once i explored it there was a lot to offer. The folks here are wonderful and you can tell they love this place. Parking is tight. Tighter than expected especially when busy. Food is a great surprise. Tastes wonderful and a change from what we've had. Wings were really fantastic, some of the best we've had in Rochester.

I had High hopes for Bar Bill- I have heard so many people from Buffalo- totally love the wings. I need to tell you that my experience was not as good. We sat quickly, and our waitress was busy so another waitress took our drink orders.. they have a great custom hazy IPA made by K2 brewing ( next door) it was great.. my wife got a beef on weck I got wings.. the waitress told me to old medium light because "medium was really spicy".. the beef came Out quick, so quick we decided to order onion rings while waiting.. we ate the onion rings and beef on weck before the wings even hit the table.. needless to say I had one and waiting 10min for a box to take them home... the wings were crispy, flavor was dull, and the blue cheese was lacking any really blue cheese taste... I'm on the fence about if I go back to try again?? The ambiance of this location is amazing and the outside patio was full and looked like a great place to watch the sun set...

Nice variety of wings of which we partook in standard buffalo and a honey variety. Wings were done extra crispy which were very good. Honey version was very tasty. Was warned that hot was a notch higher heat than other places for Buffalo wings - unfortunately the medium hot were just medium and I should've gone with my standard hot - maybe next time. While a bit stingy on the celery - see photos - service was friendly and overall environs clean and neat both in the bar and restaurant.

Overall an underwhelming experience. We got wings and the chopped salad. The wings were dry but the sauce was ok. The blue cheese sauce was unexpectedly good, different than what you'd expect from a typical blue cheese dressing. The chopped salad was unique and tasty, and there was the option to get a half portion which was a nice side. The server was friendly but it took a long time to get our food and we didn't get utensils until we asked. Also, the bathroom did not have any soap and there was just a roll of paper towels placed on the sink, which was the cherry on top of an average experience.

Dry medium wings

Food Shoe string fries - awesome Medium Wings - cooked good but sauce was missing on some of the wings as it appears to be poured over them. Last ones had little or no sauce. Service seemed to be miserable and even the people beside said they won't be back. Set food down and walked away. No plates, condiments or napkins asked or offered and requesting after the fact takes an act of congress. Must say I was looking forward to our 1st visit, but can safely say and 2nd trip will be highly unlikely. Too bad. Good location and facility.

Well done Cajun dry rub wings, awesome crispy seasoned shoestring fries. Both were enhanced by their homemade blue cheese dressing!

When in upstate New York, you have to go to the most highly recommended sports bars for wings! This place was just that. Service was great whole place was very clean and music was at a lower level so people could talk and hear each other at the same table. Even though I got my wings cooked well done, they still came out in a pretty quick amount of time. I have to say that the wings were absolutely delicious. I got the Cajun dry rub that completely met my expectations. I ordered a side of fries that were also as good. They were crispy seasoned, hot and fresh and absolutely delicious. It was a really great meal to have when I got into this area. And something that stood out, more so than normal, their blue cheese dressing. It was honestly the best blue cheese dressing I have ever had in my life. When I get wings, I usually get ranch dressing, but they had mentioned that their blue cheese was homemade so that's why I got it and I am sure glad I did. I have to give props to this place and say if you're looking for some good wings in the Rochester area, this is the place to go!

Ok.. first off this place opens up promptly at 11:30 am every day they are open. This was a different spot and for the life of me I can't remember the name. It does not really matter. The inside has lots of seating, long bar, lots of tv's and area where you can sit by the fireplace. It's not only one room though there is a bigger room if you walk straight back and I wonder if they are making available the upstairs space for parties and the like. The place got busy real fast on a Saturday at 11:30 am. Not a holiday just a random Saturday. Service is efficient and nice. When it's time to pay they have a device that you can tap your card or use Apple Pay and it's fast and efficient. We got the Beef on Weck which we shared. It was tasty it came with chips, au jus, horseradish and a pickle a nice touch. It was tasty, also it's not a hot sandwich but the jus to dunk it in is tasty. Than we ordered some wings and we took half home. You can order all flats or drums for a $1.00 more I believe. We ordered the Medium Hot, they were meaty and tasty. Thing is maybe I should have gotten medium and another type. I think next time we will. I'd like to try other options it would be fun. Bar Bill (in Buffalo) was just named of the Eight Best Placés in Buffalo to have wings. In Bon Appetit Magazine May 2024. Also they have outdoor seating. If you are wondering about other foods I have no clue. We only got wings and a sandwich. It's worth a visit but go early seriously. They have plenty of parking. It's on my list of wings places I like along with The Richmond and yes... Genesee Brewery Restaurant in the local area. The get a 4.5/5

A great place for wings and beer!

Leslie V. was an incredible ambassador for this Rochester treasure! Amazing wings, as advertised! Great service. Super attentive and friendly. Took some wings to go back to Syracuse with! Great vibes at Bar-Bill East!

Is the patio dog friendly?

I did not see any dogs in the patio, you need to enter the restaurant to access the patio. Not sure if this helps?

Our server was very attentive and offered great seasonal recommendations. *Squash Salad: a seasonal dish that perfectly captured the feeling of autumn, served in a hot cast iron skillet. The squash was sweet, garlicky, and buttery, topped with smoky breadcrumbs. The blistered tomatoes paired well with the balsamic glaze, adding sweetness and juiciness to each bite. *La Pina Loca: perfect mix of salty, sweet, and spicy. The pork was rendered beautifully, creating a savory oil that blended well with the pineapple. The jalapenos added mild heat, and the hot honey was subtle. The crust was thin with a good char on the bottom. If I lived closer, I would come here all the time. It is unfortunate that the squash salad is only a seasonal item because my group kept talking about how much we craved it afterward. The beverage menu was a bit limited, so I hope to see more beers on tap or additional mixed drinks in the future.

We were quoted about a 40-minute wait for a table, but told bar seating might open up sooner (around 30 minutes). They took my number and we stepped outside to take a walk around the block while we waited. We ended up getting a text about the bar seat availability in about 15 minutes. Once we got seated at the bar, things turned around quickly. The space has a really cozy, intimate vibe with dim lighting, warm atmosphere and overall it feels thoughtfully put together. We ordered hot toddies to drink, which were perfect for the weather, and for food we got the Japanese sweet potatoes and the cavolo nero pesto. Both dishes were incredibly delicious - flavorful and well-balanced. Just be prepared for a wait (and maybe stay nearby instead of wandering off), but once you're in, it's a great experience!

It's a small space inside but it's designed well enough to manage a flow of traffic for customers and staff. We sat in the back greenhouse area. I think the least enjoyable part of our experience was how loud it was in the restaurant. Definitely not a good spot if you're trying to catch up with someone and your voice doesn't carry. I couldn't actually hear the specials the server was telling us. I want to try out Vern's again, so I may wait until there's an outdoor table or ask to sit in the second level to see if that's quieter. We tried one of their spring menu appetizer items, the Japanese sweet potatoes with kimchi ranch and dill. One bite and I was addicted, these were so so good. We then moved on to the classics for entrees -- bee sting pizza and the ragu-- and we were amazed at how good everything was! The only note we had was about the pizza, it was very soggy in the middle but still edible if you rolled it over in itself. We also had a few cocktails, and while they were somewhat small, you could tell they weren't watered down in any way. Two drinks was more than enough for me. Overall it was a great experience and we want to try it again. If you're someone who struggles to enjoy a meal out where you can't hear much, maybe wait for outdoor tables.
