Our daily commutes take us way North, me to N. Gilbert, husband to next to Deer Valley airport. We both do 4 / 10 hr. days. So getting out for the weekend is, most days not an option. Had to run some errands on 06/19 & decided to enjoy a lunch @ Raceway. What a delicious experience. Hubs had their Patty melt, me Fish & Chips. The meals were excellently prepared, with huge, delicious portions. So Great. Our server was the Awesome, exceptional Shelby. We never get to Raceway often enough, but will try to visit more often. Normally I give this place 5 star but tonight we walked in and was seated towards the back. No menus were given to us as we were seated. We waited over 10 minutes without being acknowledged so started to get up to leave. Just as we were walking away our server came over. We told her we were leaving because we sat there over 10 minutes without an acknowledgment. The owner was sitting to the right of us, he looked up from his phone as we were telling the server we were leaving, he didn't say a thing, I would of thought he'd at least address it while we were there but never said a word. We love Maricopa!, Raceway is probably about 6 miles away from us, which is far within the city lol but we've been there a handful of times in seven years, the service is great. The establishment itself has great decorations. The lighting is good. Service is good. I've honestly only ever had the meatballs, the zucchini, the pickles, and the mozzarella sticks, and every time they were fire , definitely recommend Plus, we usually go there to have a couple drinks, I'm a whiskey, girl, and a well whiskey is just as tasty as regular whiskey read more

We had really great service. Love that there are separated dining area and bar areas. And the walk decor is awesome! We really enjoyed the menu options. Although they are famous for their pizzas, we tried the chicken flatbread, wings and meatballs. The sweet potato fries were good but advertised with a spicy seasoning, which was lighter than we were expecting. Wings were good. We love the meatballs and sauce and the flatbread was our favorite! This is a little gem in Maricopa. A little of a drive down to Papago but it's worth it if you visiting family or friends out this way. You will get to see all the farm fields and whatnot. Staff is a bit stretched but the food is stellar. I've been here a handful of times and I think you could even bring your grandparents to this place for some of the classic history, even though it has the bar / biker look. We keep going back to Raceway Bar and Grill, almost on a weekly basis! It's become our new hangout! This past Saturday we came with a license plate in hand to donate to the owners to put up on the wall! It was an Alice Cooper Arizona plate, which they said they did not yet have! The owner actually came over to our table and chatted with us and thanked us profusely for the plate! Also, the food was fantastic as always. This time I had the green chile cheeseburger with fries and hubby had the garden salad with vinaigrette dressing. We also shared a bowl of cabbage soup, which was the BOMB! Yum-O, and so warming in the almost-Fall! Also, because we brought in a license plate, we got a free dessert! So we went with the cheesecake with raspberry sauce. OMG! Everything so tasty! We came on the Saturday before St. Patrick's day so there was a bagpiper playing. It was nice when he was across the restaurant but it was just so loud when he was within 20 ft of you. Also they seemed very busy but the staff seemed to handle the tables well. We got pizza, wings and fried pickle spears. BBQ wings were perfect bar food. Pickle spears were good but definitely have to eat with knife and fork. The breading falls off completely after one bite. Pizza was crispy thin crust with just the right amount of sauce and toppings. We were absolutely blown away by the hospitality, service, and the wonderful patrons at this establishment. Passing through town I looked this place up randomly on Yelp. And we decided to stop by because we read it was pet friendly everyone patronizing the establishment was absolutely amazing. The staff was super friendly and we had an amazing pizza. It was just so much fun to walk around the grounds and see all the amazing treasures that the owner has collected over the years. Once the pizza came? It was pretty darn good too. We powered through that in no time at all. And they even made a hamburger patty for our dog Piper. I will definitely be back to this place again in the future. Last night must have been a bad night for our waitress (T). I specifically asked fir my salad first, her reply "no problem". We'll she forgot. She neverbcame back to fill our drinks or ask if we needed anything. We got her attention long enough to ask for a box for leftover Pizza. I wanted to rate higher... staff is friendly and the food is good! But the service is SSS-LL-OOO-WWW! It took them 10 minutes to bring water. Then 10 or 15 minutes later that started taking drink orders a few at a time (this was noon on a Thursday afternoon and there weren't a dozen people besides us in the place). It took an hour for them to even start taking food orders, and they got half of them wrong. At the end of the meal that waitress is asking everyone, "What did you order again?" and scribbling it on a piece of paper. He was quick with the refills on drinks, the food when it came out was cooked perfectly, and it felt like the perfect portion. First time here, definitely off the beaten path. Ample parking. Outdoor seating. Once you enter there are pool tables off to the right. Tables and bar off to the left. Sat at the bar and was greeted by Dawn. I ordered their Philly Cheesesteak with fries and a Modelo Especial. My beer came faster than a New York minute. My sandwich arrived with my fries. The sandwich had a good flavor... It would've been nice to have some barbecue sauce or some type of dressing to go on the sandwich. The service was good. I would go back. The older lady in the front register said one moment. I guess whatever on the register was more important. This place has it all! The 20+ year history, the food, and SERVICE! Hailey (hope I spelled it correctly) was such a sweet girl and super attentive server. A local with a great personality and knowledge well beyond her years that makes you feel right at home! Now the food....the pizza is a true Chicago style thin crust with a chewy texture. The toppings were top notch and plentiful. The drinks were amazing and always kept full. ALSO some of the best ranch that I've had in a long time. I cant recommend Raceway unless you just happen to be in the area and don't want to drive into Maricopa for good food. Im not saying that the food is bad, it is just average bar food at a high price point that I contribute to location. A large pizza will run you 30 bucks and believe me when I say it is thin on crust as well as toppings. Countless times they have been out of common items like fries, and juices, they have even been out of Gin at the bar. the atmosphere is that of a fun bar but the waitresses are lacking experience or just not very attentive. I really want to love this place and we do keep going back every 6 months or so hoping something will improve but to date nothing has. Fingers Crossed! read more

To be up front with you, I pushed a star up. It probably is a solid 3 over a four. That said, I like this joint. It's out there. It's large, it's got food, it's got beer, it's got interesting peeps. Ages ran the spectrum from barely legal to get in to those who've made it a habit to check the obits. Don't get me wrong it's a great mix. In my experience a bar is 40% bar and 60% people. These is a ton of character inside these walls. The claim to Chicago style thin crust is pushing it a bit. The dough wasn't spot on. They do have a sweet sauce which is pretty good. The Italian sausage was exactly right. The cheese was absent of something in the spice department. It was close. The cook was right. The tops are Steak Sandwich, Chicken Philly Sandwich, Pork Chop Sandwich & Their Homemade Meatball Sandwich.... Oh, and their pizza is spot on....
