The food is the best specially the pizza and the if you go ask for Bailey she's the best waitress hands down.

Car club stopped there for lunch on Sunday, about 30 of us. Welcoming atmosphere, seated quickly. Servers promptly took drink orders and gave us enough time to look through the menus. Service was about right for the size of group we had, no one had to wait for others to receive their food. My table had a variety of items from burgers to fish sandwiches and some appetizers. Everyone was happy with what they had. Interesting place for decor. You can tell that it is a popular places for both locals and those passing through. I can recommend this spot. read more

This is our new fave place to eat. We've been here 4 times in the last two months and have ordered burgers, zucchini sticks, pizza, phillie steak sandwiches, salads, WOW beer...they have gotten everything perfect every time. Two generations of our family members are always happy to stop in here for lunch or early dinner. I'm confident you will find something yummy to eat here. Ok, so it's not the cleanest space and the seating and decor is tired and worn. One of the stalls in the ladies room is so tiny...ok, nuff said. Decided to try Raceway due to reviews. My wife ordered a Bloody Mark and I had a Dos XX beer. She ordered the Fish basket and I had the Taco salad. Food took forever to come even tho only about 10 people in the place. Waitress apologized and gave us a 10% discount. My wife liked her fish basket. My Taco salad was cold and skimpy on the beef and toppings. Disappointing to say the least. Atmosphere inside was pretty cool tho. Probably will not return. read more

Placed a to go order over the phone for Fish n Chips and gravy fries. It took 1 hour and 10 minutes to actually get my food. After about waiting 45 minutes I kept getting a chain of excuses as to why it wasn't ready(wasn't even busy). Got our food and rushed home to eat(live 5 minutes away). In the amount of time to get home and start eating(maybe 10 minutes total) everything was ice cold except the gravy we had gotten on the side. Everything was over cooked, hard, dry. The fries where nearly burnt and didn't absorb any of the gravy. And let's not forget to mention portion size. The fish was 5 bite sized nuggets. Would have been better off going to Culver's(best fish n chips in town)..... even long John silvers would have been better. Definitely will not be going back. read more

Ehh.. this was mediocre restaurant with extremely high menu prices and slow service. Two families that came in after us got served before us and got their check before our table. We waited 10-15 minutes after we were done eating before we received our check. I tried to let our server know how we needed the check split. They cut me off and walked away as I was talking acting like they knew how we needed it split. They returned with the check split incorrectly. I watched a lady get up from the bar, walk over to the ice machine, grab the ice scooper and refill her cup from home. Seems unsanitary to me. Maricopa has other places to eat. Finally had the time to have lunch here. It was AMAZING !! Mykala was our server. Delightful young lady. Very timely service. Bob had a tasty designer cocktail. I had a Bad Birdie citrus beer, as they serve no Blue Moon. This beer was EXCELLENT, locally brewed & can be found @ Fry's. He had a Philly cheesesteak sandwich w/their signature Jalapeno cole slaw. Huge plate of food. Sandwich perfectly made, overflowing with sauteed onions, bell peppers & shrooms, with gooey cheese. The slaw has the lightest heat despite the finely chopped jalapenos. OUTSTANDING. I had their Phish sandwich on a brioche bun w/onion rings. OMG. I have never had a fish sandwich like this in my long life. The fish was so delicately battered & perfectly cooked that it fell apart while eating. The rings were even BETTER. Battered & cooked so that when you take a bite, your NOT pulling the ring out of the batter. PERFECTION. The interior is a walk down memory lane, with all the nostalgic signs and memorabilia. The place is gonna be great to visit during the cooler months as there is so much room to relax outside. Their pizza is touted as the BEST. We'll have that the next time we visit, which will be very soon. read more

After visiting the Dwarf Car Museum, which was well worth the trip (plus it's free, although we gave a donation), we were hungry so we stopped at the Raceway Bar & Grill. Hidden in the back of a small strip mall in the middle of nowhere. The place was clean and the servers friendly and efficient. Lots of license plates and memorabilia sprinkled all around, as well as TVs with soccer and football playing. The food was very good. I had a burger and fries (outstanding fries). Burger was cooked to order (medium rare), just the way I like it. The wife had a huge taco salad, as did our good friend who was with us. Also excellent. read more

We have been going to the Raceway every year since vacationing in Maricopa. We alway go there for pizza which is great. After getting home from vacation I happen to look at the bill and found that there is an auto gratuity charge. Didn't notice it either of the 2 times we were there. My fault. Painfully slow service. Took 15 minutes to be greeted and get menus, another 20 before she took our order and over an hour to get a thin crust pizza. We gave up! RACEWAY... MORE LIKE RACIST! Wish I could give it ZERO stars, because that's what they deserve. My husband, nephew and I went today. There was only about 10 people (they occupied 3 tables) in the ENTIRE restaurant, that were in there when we walked in. They acknowledge we were there but never approached us. We waited, patiently for approximately 25 minutes. They would pass by us and never said or offered anything to us. But when white customers came in they went to them right away with menus and a wonderful service... to them only. Mind you we were the only Mexicans in there. NEVER AGAIN! I've been here twice, once with friends. Thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt and try them again. Because I support small/local businesses. But sadly, I was once again, highly disappointed that not much had changed. You want a racist environment, horrible customer service and like being discriminated... go here. Went to visit family in Maricopa, took them out to lunch and told them it's their choice. They directed us to this restaurant in a little strip mall, seriously??? Walked in and the decor has a lot of license plates along with a variety of uniqueness to it. Alright, we are in the desert of Arizona, what should I expect. Wife had the wings and I had the enchiladas- this chef must be from LA or NY and retired in AZ. Sounds like I'm knocking AZ but this is a strip mall some thirty miles out of Phoenix!!! Made the trip from Tempe to visit friends who live south of Maricopa, a repeat visit to the Raceway Bar & Grill. A nice crowd on hand for the Army -Navy game, and bar was festive and fun.
