Love Raceway ! I am a neighbor who orders weekly. They are diligent, respectful and professional!!!! I especially like their employee Jackie . She NEVER gets our order wrong ! And treats us AMAZING! I live next door and I once left my baby bag with iPhone, money, identification.... Etc .... I called Raceway Pizza .. I was in downers grove Illinois . Told them I was a neighbor ..... Jackie knew exactly who I was . I'm the " Bacon chicken ranch pizza every week" . They walked to my yard and retrieved my baby bag and belongings. Raceway is my Go To pizza joint in the area! My favorite is asking for the Pizza well done, makes sure it's nice and crunchy and the pairs so nicely with the already sweet sauce. I cant say enough about the service we received here.With less than 24 hrs notice they were able to accommodate a party of 30 coming from out of town for a funeral. I didn't know what to expect.We called ahead with an order,when we got there they had set a space up for us and the food was ready and hot.They were very attentive toward us and kind. Every person only had good things to say about the service and food.The food was great and you couldn't beat the price. Huge pizzas. I began eating at the Elwood Raceway right when the first opened their doors. The pizza was pretty good, but not great if you are a super thin crust fan. The owners (husband and wife team) are the two of the nicest people you will ever meet. When I ordered from them and said I wanted SUPER THIN CRUST pizza, they knew how to make it PERFECT. Actually, it was the BEST pizza I ever had in my life, hands down. BUT....and this is why I give them a 1-star rating....if they are not making the pizza, it will not be good at all if you like thin crust. I have ordered there over and over again for years, and never get it how I like it unless the owners make it. Today I just ordered and told them I wanted SUPER THIN crust like the owners make it, and the person said the owners aren't there but they'll do their best. Well, their best was simply awful. They had the cheese caked on thick with the crust like a cake. Terrible. I've been cutting back on ordering there over the past few years, but thought I would try one last time. Well, this was it. I'll never order from Raceway Pizza again. If the owners aren't there then they either just don't listen to your request, or they just don't know how to make thin crust pizza. Either way, I'm done. I don't usually leave negative feedback like this, but this especially upset me because this was for my 86 year old father. If you like super thin crust pizza, DO NOT order from Raceway. Customer service is very poor. I called to place a order and the lady act's like it's an inconvenience for her to place the order. I had enough so I say Thank you but never mind and hang up. Then she proceeds to call my phone and ask why I hung up. Like how dare you! I said Thank you but never mind. Twice she called me. Very bad customer service. I was only trying to save gas and feed my kid's. That's a shame because the food is good. I just can't! read more
