Am not too sure. With all the 5 star reviews this place looked empty from the outside, on a Friday evening! You get seated right away of course. The decor is definitely Thai. There were just 4 more people to the corner. You get complimentary small salad with greens, shredded cabbage, julienned carrots, a slice of tomato, the ginger sauce was weirdly strong like artificial ascorbic acid mixed in. I ordered the beef noodle soup, maybe a good one to compare with other cuisine versions. I wanted to try the curry dishes but call me living under a rock I still get sticker shock when. I see an entree priced at $20. I ordered the beef noodle soup. What's noteworthy is the aroma of the beef broth, seems to have been simmered for a long time. Definitely a 5. It was a huge portion, definitely enough for 3 meals. And with all considerations of ambiance and value I give this place a 4!

My favorite Thai restaurant in the area has opened a second location!! If you haven't tried you MUST! I would drive 30+ mins from VB to Chesapeake just to have Thai food because it's that good. Take out is also consistently good too. Family owned and operated. Consistently great service and outstanding food, every single time, year after year. This location is no different, same food, same quality, same great experience. New location is very open, clean, casual atmosphere. Plenty of parking in the private plaza lot. They have great lunch deals that include a side salad. Sometimes they switch it up with a soup or even an egg roll. My noodles with salad only 10.99 for lunch. My 5/5 recommendations: -GIANT Thai iced tea only 5.99 -Soft Shell Crab Special if they have it! It's got this INCREDIBLE garlic sauce over rice. -Pad See Ew -Drunken Noodle -Panang Curry -Masaman Curry -Basil fried rice -Red curry fried rice - Pad Thai Literally the only place I'll come for Thai food in Hampton Roads. Trust me.

Sunday evening my sister and were searching for somewhere to go have dinner. We set out at 6pm and every place we chose was closed I guess due to the Labor Day Weekend the closed early. While my sister was driving I was still searching yelp for a restaurant and we came across Racha Thai Cuisine. I must say everything was 10/10. From entering the restaurant , to cleanliness , communication , ambiance etc at 100%.

First time at Racha and it will not be the last. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the staff is very attentive. I had the Thai dumplings, lava shrimp and khao soi. The khao soi is a curry soup with soft noodles, crispy noodles, coconut milk shredded chicken and a chicken leg. First time having it and it was delicious.

This might be my new favorite Thai restaurant in the area! Tucked away in an unassuming shopping plaza off of Great Neck Rd, Racha Thai enticed us with their Khao Soi special written on a chalkboard outside. Khao Soi is one of my favorite Thai dishes but seems to be pretty rare on menus. The restaurant was mostly empty and very quiet for a peaceful early lunch. Our server was very attentive and very sweet! Will definitely travel out of my way to return to Racha Thai.

A-MAZIMG!! I just had a fabulous lunch! We dined on the specials. I was SO excited to see Khao soi! I've found it hard to find at most Thai restaurants, it's my FAVE and have craved it ever since I had it in Chiang Mai, 20 yrs ago. We also ordered the steamed pork dumplings and Moo ping ( marinated pork skewers ) with sticky rice. Our server was prompt and polite. Well attentive. The restaurant was very clean, calm relaxing with Thai style pop music that wasn't too loud or distracting. Excellent food!

We got Racha Thai takeout for dinner via Ubereats and it was amazing! The absolute best Thai food in the area!! So tasty and fresh - generous portions & presentation! Love it!

Tried this place for the first time after seeing all the great reviews, and it did not disappoint - 10/10! The flavors, textures, and spice level were spot on. I'm really picky about chicken, but every bite was perfect. I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.

The type of dishes they serve are Burmese food, which I never tried before. Would my first try be a home run or a strikeout? Walking inside, you can tell it was very chilled and laid back. They are an Asian fusion restaurant, but they offer Burmese dishes. I was excited to try them out because I've never had Burmese cuisine. I'd like to believe Mommy Mom may be the first Burmese restaurant in Hampton Roads, but I can't be sure. At the least, this is, for me, the first time I've come across a Burmese restaurant locally. During my first visit I ordered the following: spring rolls for an appetizer; and for my entree, Kyae Oh (Pork Noodle Soup), which is a noodle soup with vermicelli noodles, quail eggs, tofu, pork meatballs, mustard green in a clear pork broth. The spring rolls were a safe option, but nonetheless excellent, as I've had them at other Asian-oriented restaurants. The Kyae Oh looked appeasing on the menu and tasted fantastic (it kind of reminded me of the Philippines' sinigang) when it arrived at my table. Both items arrived quickly upon ordering and my server (who was also Mommy Mom's owner/operator) was kind, gracious and was always smiling. I enjoyed my initial visit and decided to return as soon as possible. Sadly, though, I didn't get around to returning until October, but I still enjoyed a fantastic meal and excellent service from the same owner. During my October visit I had fried dumplings as an appetizer and followed that up with Ohn Noh Khow swae (Coconut Noodle), which are egg noodles in a chicken curry & coconut milk soup base and boiled egg. The dumplings were excellent - fried perfectly and had a great crunch. The Ohn Noh Khow was excellent, too. Considering it was my first time trying this entree, I didn't know how it was supposed to taste, but I enjoyed the combination of curry and coconut milk. The egg noodles meshed well with the soup base and the chicken was tasty and tender. The only thing I noticed is that the Ohn Noh Khow seemed to be a lighter portion than the Kyae Oh I had a few months earlier. I hope that Mommy Mom wasn't already forced to cut back portion size. After two visits, I feel Mommy Mom is a fantastic place. Their facility is clean and organized, its owner is kind, polite and helpful, and he can obviously cook good food. I enjoy Burmese cuisine because of this and look forward to many future visits! Thank you, Mommy Mom! JV

Well, I had an incredible lunch experience at Wang Jiang Lou that made my day! It all began with the warm welcome, followed by incredible service table side and even as I left the team made me feel good (More later!). Whoever designed this restaurant knows something about creating an escape from the world experience. The paneling, table settings, lighting, and every inch of the dining area allowed me to take a deep breath escaping from a hectic hot and humid Virginia Beach weekday hustle! The $16 lunch is a bargain! Offering several impressive entrees plus soup. I am extremely particular about Hot and Sour soup and this bowl was delicious with a subtly of flavors and a pleasant silky texture. I consumed every last drop and returned a clean bowl! I chose Yu Xiang Pork as my entree, which my waitress said was one of the top two favorites along with the pork belly. She said she would give the Yu Xiang Pork the edge. She was right because I loved this dish! I like heat and this offered heat. I like varied texture and this had a range of textures. I want flavor that makes you eat everything served and this delicious lunch offering succeeded. For the price I was so impressed with the variety of mushrooms!! The cherry on top for this visit (No, I didn't get an ice cream sundae.) was the warm thank you's PLURAL that I received from the people up front as I left. Their smiles were beaming at me and they genuinely made me feel like they were happy I came in for a $16 lunch. I said with a wink that I was going to the kitchen to see if they would provide the same smiles of thanks and was told that they would (No, I didn't go to find out.). Clearly a great team serving delicious food in an awesome setting made me wish I lived in Virginia Beach but then I stepped outside into the heat, humidity and hectic world that this FIVE STAR restaurant named Wang Jiang Lou made me forget about for an hour.
