We arrived at Marina Shores Surf Rider about 12 noon. The open air atmosphere with the ceiling fan and panoramic views a long Creek created such a relaxing atmosphere. Our waitress Maleah Hinkens greeted us with a beautiful smile. She was pleasant and professional, and took extra time to explain the specials on the menu. The broiled flounder with collards and mashed potatoes were excellent. Maleah checked on us multiple times during our dinner. She was kind, courteous and very pleasant. She showed an honest interest in making sure that our dining experience was the best that it could be. This location will close by the end August and we will have to wait till next season. Until then you have about three weeks left so hurry in and enjoy.

I like the open airy set up of the restaurant but when it's hot...oh my it's hot and humid! There is total outdoor seating near the marina or by the pool. That's more enjoyable as you get a better breeze. When we went on a Saturday evening, we were quoted a 45 minute wait, however, there's a first come, first serve outdoor seating at the pool area. It's full bar and menu. I found a seat here BUT It was still super busy and took so long to get waited on and to get our appetizer, cocktails and meal. So maybe it would have better to wait to get seated in the "restaurant" part? When I did get my food, it was hot and still good as you know Surf Riders to be. I am not saying S.R is the best seafood but it's good enough. The "crush" drinks are not your typical crushes you get at other restaurants like at the oceanfront, it's a regular cocktail in ice. But the Mango Colado was sooo yummy! Like a slurpee!! Perfect sweetness and the tajin rim made the drink even better. I didn't really taste any liquor and I am very sensitive to liquor, so they are very light handed! Overall, a cool place to hang and eat.

Had a wonderful lunch per usual. Such a fun, beachy atmosphere. Our server Maleah was great.

This place isn't bad, but when I went on a Sunday evening, most of their menu was sold out. Getting here can be a bit challenging since you have to navigate through a residential neighborhood, apartment complex, and marina. On top of that, parking might be hard to find since you need to avoid any "Pearl" or "marina member" parking. While any grill on the water is awesome, this place was just alright. Lastly, if you want their full menu available, I would not recommend coming here on a Sunday evening.

What are their hours on Tues thru Thursday? Some websites say open at 11am, others say not till 4pm. Apparently open for lunch Fri-Sat-Sun but confusing info for other days.

I'm at a loss on them as well. I suggest calling first, businesses are all over the place during this work shortage situation.

Seems you cannot boat here anymore? Is this the case? If so that is horrible.

We also enjoyed the different variations of steak and the chicken tinga. I am not one to order a chicken dish out at a restaurant, but oh. my. gosh. It was phenomenal. HIGHLY recommend. And last but not least, the dessert. I have never had a better slice of chocolate cake. Melt in your mouth. Everything about this restaurant is top tier.

Lindsey, our bartender, was an absolute superstar. She took wonderful care of us throughout the evening and really made us feel special. Great service is about more than taking an order and keeping a glass full. Lindsey understood that distinction. The Executive Chef also came over to welcome us and started our evening with a fantastic mini tostada served with house-made guacamole and escabeche. It was an unexpected and much-appreciated touch, and a great introduction to what was ahead. We started with the Wood-Fired Wings, featured on their Wood-Fired Wednesday menu: one pound of hormone-free, all-natural organic whole chicken wings with a choice of roasted jalapeño & pineapple, chile de arbol "buffalo," white peach BBQ, or Caesar. I don't throw around superlatives lightly, but these are the best wings in the 757, and it's not even close! Next came the Tenderloin Asador, roasted garlic-marinated beef tenderloin served on a skewer with salsa cruda and salsa criolla. The beef was tender, beautifully cooked, and absolutely delicious. We also tried the Charred Brussels Sprouts with ancho sweet potato purée, maple-Dijon vinaigrette, pepitas, and goat cheese. There is a lot going on in that description, but somehow it all works together. Yummy! For dinner, my wife selected the Bone-In Pork Ribeye, served over mashed potatoes with peanut salsa macha and grilled onions. The dish was as visually appealing as it was delicious. The pork was cooked to perfection, everything was seasoned properly, and she enjoyed it very much. I ordered the Argentinian Grilled Fish, served over mashed potatoes with grilled greens, chimichurri, and almonds. I really enjoyed both the presentation and the amazing flavor of this dish. The fish arrived piping hot, perfectly cooked, and properly seasoned. Everything on the plate worked beautifully together in that rare way that is so wonderful to encounter when a dish looks every bit as good as it tastes. Naturally, celebrating 26 years of marriage required a little dessert, so we finished with the Chocolate Crème Brûlée, made with dark Colombian chocolate. Interestingly, it reminded me of pot de crème because it was served without the usual layer of hardened caramelized sugar. Not a complaint, just an observation. I enjoyed it very much. From the banter we shared with Lindsey, to the Executive Chef taking a moment to welcome us, to the atmosphere, the Happy Hour selections, and the consistently excellent food, Quemar delivered something considerably better than simply a good dinner. If you have never tried Quemar, you are missing out on more than another night out. You are missing an experience that deserves to be savored.

It was a wonderful event in an equally wonderful space. The music was on point, as well as the volume level. It was loud enough to enjoy the music, yet low enough that you could hold a conversation without screaming to hear each other. It was very peaceful and even if you don't choose a booth, the tables on the opposite side of the bar do provide some privacy due to the small partitions. The variety of food offered was just right (not overwhelmingly too many options and not too little options) and the food was tasty. Heirloom is a well-run establishment. When you see every employee completing tasks with every movement and the owner bussing tables plus talking with patrons, this is a service-oriented business. Call early in the week to ensure a Saturday feast. Heirloom sources as much of its ingredients as possible from local farmers and fishermen. It was Happy Hour so I asked what was the "bar bourbon"? Our waitress, Candice, knew exactly what I meant and told me, Evan Williams. An Old Fashion made with Evan Williams for 8 bucks, Yes Ma'am to that. My wife enjoyed a glass of crisp pinot grigio with her meal. Candice service was impeccable the entire experience. We started with Crispy Mushrooms appetizer - awesome. Our entrees were very generous portions. My wife ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, two large cakes with crispy squash fritters and succotash for the sides, old bay remoulade on the side for the crab cakes. Nothing but crab with very little binder. She loved the entire meal. I enjoyed the Honey Glazed Bone-In Pork Chop with bbq beans and potato salad for sides. The beans needed work, but the potato salad was excellent with big chucks of potato. The pork chop was star though. A huge two-bone affair grilled to perfection. I had to cut it in half and take one half home it was so large. Magnificent. We finished celebrating her birthday by sharing the S'mores Tart for dessert. Graham cracker crust with chocolate ganache layered on top, crowned with sea salt. A toasted marshmallow cream on the side with Happy Birthday written in chocolate on the plate. She was delighted. It was not overwhelming sweet. Fabulous with two cups of decaf coffee to finish. My wife enjoyed the whole experience and definitely wants to come back. They are both so good, I'd probably request them as my last meal! The She Crab soup is absolute perfection, creamy and full of lump crab. I will not order She Crab soup anywhere else after trying theirs. The wedge has pickled onions, candied bacon, blue cheese and some kind of marinated or pickled tomato. Paired all together to make the perfect bite. We have tried a lot of the menu, it does rotate around seasonally, but there are some items that are consistent. The burger was absolutely decadent but not overwhelming. I usually order the "secret", not so secret Shrimp dinner that's not on the menu anymore. You get 6 of their amazing fried shrimp, a magical dipping sauce (cant' describe it!), and 2 sides. (see what's their seasonal sides!)
