We came here for a late lunch. Mostly it seems like this restaurant is more focused on brunch then lunch. I thought there would be more non seafood items for my husband but there was literally just two burgers. He ordered the cheese logs and they were out of them. I just ordered the crabcake sandwich which came with horseshoe fries. Most of the fries were alittle burnt. My crabcake was very thin but had a bunch of crab/less filler which was nice. I ordered my daughter pancakes which were pretty good and some cheese grits (she didn't like it - needed more seasoning). Overall the food is just okay. The waiter was very nice though and checked in on us frequently. There is free parking lot in the front. Prices were fair for the area. I think it would have been better for breakfast.

The staff was amazing. And food was soo good. I am gluten free and was bald to get a shrimp Cesar salad and delicious potatoes.

I arrived on a Friday evening around 6:00PM. I was the sole customer and chose to sit at the bar. It's in a strip mall, and it's a cute restaurant inside. All the staff were friendly and efficient. The bartender kindly spent time making chit chat when she wasn't busy. I ordered a glass of Chardonnay, and it was a decent sized pour. For dinner, I asked for the small house salad and the 1/2 lb of steamed and peeled shrimp. The salad was the perfect size for me. The lettuce was crisp and it included carrots, onions, tomato, cucumber and croutons. The shrimp were cooked just right so they weren't mushy. The tail was still on so it was easy to grab and dunk in the melted butter that came with it. I came away satisfied with my light dinner. The place had filled up pretty good by the time I left.

Fantastic breakfast!! My daughter wanted to come back for breakfast because she enjoyed the French toast so much! I'm our first visit, I had eggs Benedict and our second, The SOS. Both were so good. The service was great!! There was a massive line at Pocahontas Pancakes and this amazing place is right around the corner! Skip the line and come here for great food and much faster service!

The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated, I also like that it had free parking. The staff were nice and the food came in a timely manner. The food however was a miss. The steak was very juicy but it tasted like liver and the grits were hard and super thick as you can see in the picture. The waiter could tell I didn't enjoy it and offered to fix it or get me something else but I was already put off at that point. It was definitely not my cup of tea.

Pretty good food here. We came in with a large party and were promptly sat early on a Saturday evening. The server did a nice job splitting the checks for the total of 4 families that were eating. I had the seared tuna and it was pretty good! Wife had the Greek salad and although it didn't quite hit the mark as a "Greek" salad all of the ingredients were very fresh. I appreciate the kids menu very much. 4-5 things for them to choose from and they all enjoyed whatever it odd that they ordered. I wouldn't hesitate to try this place again to try something different off of the menu. Also, happy hour on Saturday from 3-6 pm was a nice surprise. Enjoy!

Discovered this gem on our latest trip to VA Beach. Staff was phenomenal and breakfast super delish! I had a classic fave of mine, chipped beef on toast and hubby had the daily special, a meat omelet. Prices were good, experience was great!!

First of all, the service was top notch. She knew the menu inside and out and was fantastic at making recommendations! Pickled shrimp are a new favorite delicacy for me just wish there had been one more- an even 6 would've been nice for sharing! The Driftwood Crush was a nice twist to the local favorite. It was nice to see a kitchen that cares so much about in-house recipes and I could tell the locals appreciated it! Loved the casual vibe too!

Awesome service. Food was good, and came out fast. Restaurant was clean and pretty quiet when we went. Loved the spinach dip, and my husband loved the oysters. They had good deals for happy hour.

Friendly service in a relaxed outdoor setting because we had dogs with us! The hostess seated us promptly and quickly took our drink orders. We ordered the Gill Net omelette, the Kitty Hawk sand-witch, goat cheese platter, and one other dish I can't recall. Everything was very fresh and delicious!! The goat cheese platter was not only fresh and flavorful but an exquisite work of art full of fresh shishito peppers, nuts, fruit and goat cheese! The Gill Net omelette was bursting with flavor with crabmeat and shrimp! The chef definitely loves to craft a work of art that is as equally as delicious and satisfying!! Highly recommend this place for a light yet refreshingly hearty meal!!

Found this place by the beach. It's nice, clean. Staff were very friendly and good. I ordered the Mahi Mahi fingers, they were succulent. The pickled shrimp were tasty. The berry cheese cake was great. I also had a bourbon berry smash drink . It was out of this world.

Great meal tonight. Easy going atmosphere. We sat inside due to the rain but they have great outside seating. Thanks to the owner Troy for a great night!

Full disclosure, as always, all of my reviews are based on my expectation of the venue. I have an expectation of sushi that I pick up at the quickie mart versus a night at Nobu. In this case, there is no need to fill in the details of our amazing dinner and impressive surprises from the bar. If you have ever tasted the love of the chef in the food that you were served, then you will understand why there are just no words. You must go here for yourself.

Drinks were delivered very fast by the bartender. 2nd rounds were offered prior to the drinks being empty which shows good serving habits. The serving portions were very plentiful and played very well on the brunch theme! Burger was cooked medium well but still very juicy with a delicious mayo based sauce. The line moved quickly, and while the food took a little longer to come out, it was clearly made fresh and was flavorful and worth the wait. One thing I appreciated was how dog-friendly the atmosphere is, with dogs welcome both inside and outside. The seating is very much community-style, with shared tables and a family/neighborhood feel. We didn't mind it, but if you prefer more personal space or private seating, the close quarters may not be for you. Breakfast sandwiches were reasonably priced, generally in the $13-$15 range. My only real complaint came when I watched the top of my sandwich fall off while a crew member was moving plates around. The employee picked it up and placed it back on the sandwich with their hand after touching several other items behind the counter. It wasn't enough to ruin the experience, but it did bother me and left an impression. Overall, the food was fresh and tasty, the atmosphere was lively without being too loud, and the dog-friendly environment was a nice bonus.

I have been to this restaurant a total of 3 times and have always ordered the same dish.. what can I say I am Catfish and Collards kinda girl. Ordered Fish and Grits with a side of Collards on one occasion and I believe with Mac and Cheese & Collards on the other two. The dish is called The Tail of Two fish. It includes one piece of catfish and one piece of whiting.. I substituted for two pieces of Catfish Fried Hard.... If you know. You know. First time collards were decent but nothing to drive in traffic towards oceanfront for. The staff claim to like their Mac and Cheese but I am definitely not a fan. I personally will not Reccomend. They are not horrible but what can I say, watery and lacking layers of flavor and creaminess that one desires when eating a comfort food like Mac & Cheese. The fish was good especially with some Hot Sauce. Grits were ok but I've had better. Cocktails are amazing BUT pricey. Please be mindful that when you are a mixed drink off the menu for example, A lemon Drop, Margarita, any signature drink... it automatically includes alcohol BUT your waiter will ask you what kind of alcohol would you prefer... for instance Don Julio or Patron.... If you select on of those option you will be charged for the cocktail plus the UPGRADED liquor of choice. So if your Margarita is $16 On the menu (that includes liquor) IF you choose one of the choices being offered to you, you will be charged an additional charge for the shot in your drink. For example if you chose Don Julio when you ordered your cocktail. That drink now almost $30!!!! $16 for cocktail on menu PLUS example $12 for a shot of Don Julio... NOW that 1 cocktail cost $28 ish. If you have 3 of these bad boys thru out the course of your meal or happen to ask for a drink with a double shot, be prepared to pay more money for your curated cocktail then you entire meal! The service was excellent BUT I try believe that it's the waiter/or waitresses obligation to advise that when you order your drink it comes with alcohol and if you choose one of the alcohol options that they are providing for your drink, to explain that that is a up charge and you don't have to to pick a brand of liquor because the drink made as is already includes alcohol. This information was not related to any of the guests sitting at my large party and some cocktails actually came up to almost $50 per drink!!!! Quite INSANE! Gratuity is automatically added on for single orders and or large groups. Perhaps the waiters attempt to upsell the Too Shelf Liquor and don't explain. The additional cost to ensure a larger bill which leads to larger amount of gratuity. ‍ who knows but some of my guests complained to the manager and she apologized for the lack of information. Back to the Food! lol Fried Green Tomatoes!!! I normally love them but I know many places cannot truly execute them and Milk& Honey is definitely one of those places that should not have this dish on the menu! Fried Green tomatoes should be FRIED, Seasoned & CRISPY! By adding a dressed salad on top of the tomatoes, your fried green tomatoes is now a SOGGY unseasoned, lukewarm tomato.. I do not Reccomend. Order at your own risk!!! You have been warned! Fried Deviled Eggs. Every person that I have dined with at this restaurant most definitely HIGHLY RATE and DEVOUR the Deviled Eggs. So those get 5 's Shrimp Po Boy Sliders were a hit and fan fave but I believe those were part of a daily special. Peach Cobbler Empanada for dessert was a nice sharable between two to simply try something new. Overall I normally spend at least $100 for my meal, cocktail and at least one drink for the guest of honor including tax and gratuity. That's a bit high for a brunch when the food is a hit or miss. I had such high hopes for this restaurant to be in the 757 area especially because I've heard great reviews from the chains in the DMV area. I disliked that many of my guest were disappointed and dissatisfied for my Birthday Brunch

I'm a chef myself and travel to different restaurants regularly, so I try to be understanding. That said, the service we experienced yesterday at Stock Pot was unfortunately some of the worst I've had in quite a while. We sat outside, and it honestly felt like we were being deliberately ignored. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet we had to wait long stretches just to get basic things. At one point near the end of our meal, we asked for a box and our check. Instead of bringing it over, the waitresses stood around talking with other waitresses, while we continued to wait. After sitting there for quite a while, we eventually had to ask for the check and box, a second time. Throughout the meal the service was inconsistent. We had three different waitresses checking on us, but were left to sit for about 30 minutes alone at one point, and it took almost 20 to have our order taken, once we ordered, we had to request our appetizer again, after waiting another 20 or so minutes. Upon asking, again, we found out they were out of part of the appetizer we ordered. After that it came out quick. The food, however, was excellent and definitely the highlight of the experience. That's why this review is disappointing to write -- the kitchen is clearly doing a great job. I just hope the service side improves, because it didn't match the quality of the food.

HISTORY ON AN ONION ROLL | THE EYE OPENER CONTINUES TO TEMPT TASTEBUDS, DECADES LATER…read more By Patrick Evans-Hylton For decades, the Belvedere Hotel was more than a place to stay. It was a familiar presence along the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, a backdrop for everyday rituals and seaside routines. Tucked inside was the Belvedere Coffee Shop & Diner, a true neighborhood constant since opening in 1969. It was where mornings began with hot coffee and friendly nods, where breakfast and lunch meant dependable comfort, and where the pace of the beach slowed just enough to savor it. When the Belvedere was torn down, it felt like losing a quietly important piece of the Oceanfront's collective memory. That sense of memory carries forward at Belvedere South inside the tony Moxy Virginia Beach Oceanfront hotel. The new space honors the past without freezing it in time. Bright blue walls set against crisp white instantly recall the diner's cheerful spirit. Large windows allow light to flood the space. Cushy banquettes are a comfortable welcome, inviting you to settle in and linger. The menu stays true to its roots with classic breakfast and lunch dishes that feel familiar and reassuring. Anchoring it all is the legendary Eye Opener sandwich, returned to its rightful place as both signature and symbol. In this new setting, the Belvedere legacy lives on, refreshed but recognizable, a reminder that some traditions deserve to be carried forward with care and confidence. The Eye Opener remains the heart of the menu, and one bite explains its legend. A perfectly fried egg anchors the sandwich, its yolk just rich enough to soften the layers beneath. From a choice of bacon, sausage, or ham, we chose the latter; each brings its own salty, savory character. Melted cheese binds everything together, draping the egg and meat in comfort. All of it is tucked into a lightly toasted onion roll that adds a gentle sweetness and just enough bite to stand up to the fillings. Chef Ray Ray Labuen, who wore the tall toque at the former Belvedere, is closely tied to the Eye Opener its careful steward. Then there are the tomatoes, the detail that elevates the whole affair. Thick slices are grilled, seasoned lightly, and finished with a generous snowfall of parmesan cheese. As they cook, the tomatoes soften and turn luscious while the cheese melts and lightly browns, creating a savory crust that clings to the fruit. They are warm, juicy, and deeply flavorful, adding richness and balance to the sandwich. It is indulgent without being heavy, familiar yet special, and exactly the kind of dish that earns its name at the Oceanfront. We also enjoyed rich, creamy grits and a damn fine cup of coffee. Service was exceptional. - I've been covering the cuisine scene in Coastal Virginia and beyond for 30-plus years, and have dined out at thousands and thousands times. I base my scores on the SAVORY system, which attributes values to six distinct attributes: Service, Ambiance, Value, Offerings, Repeatability, and Sensory Experience. That translates to 1 star = 59 or below ; 2 stars = 60 - 69 ; 3 stars = 70-79 ; 4 stars = 80-89 ; and 5 stars = 90 or above. Based on that, this restaurant receives my 5 star rating. This is based on a visit on Jan. 7, 2026 - I'm a Johnson & Wales-trained chef reporting on food and foodways in print (magazines, The Virginian-Pilot), television (morning shows, Food Network, WTKR TV-3), radio (PBS, AM 790 WNIS), and more. The restaurant has a great oceanfront location and the food was good, but our experience was significantly impacted by how staff handled my service dog. We initially sat outside, but constant biting flies made it difficult to enjoy our meal, so we moved inside. Shortly afterward, an assistant manager approached us and attempted to remove us because of my service dog. My dog was clearly identifiable as a service animal, quietly lying at my feet, fully under control, and not bothering anyone. As a Disabled Veteran, I should not have had to explain ADA service animal laws in order to eat breakfast. The burden should not fall on guests to educate restaurant management about federal disability protections. What should have been a happy and memorable morning before my wedding became stressful and upsetting. The issue was eventually resolved, and we were allowed to remain, but only after I had to advocate for my legal rights. Because of that experience, we chose not to return to dine inside the restaurant for the remainder of our stay. The food and location were good, but the lack of service animal awareness by management seriously detracted from the experience. I strongly recommend additional ADA and service animal training for all staff so future guests do not experience the same treatment.
