It's a must stop by location! The big ole chicken is delicious and big enough to split for two…read more Even their mini sizes for I cream are very filling and the price is great. I love the chocolate midnight shake, but the IWU2 and Trojan sundae are pretty good as well. No free refills and water is self serve. The place does have a distinct old smell when you come in but the ice cream comes out quick and you have it with your meal or just pick it up after you are done eating which is awesome. I loved to grab ice cream and walk around town or Taylor but there's plenty of seating inside.

I don't understand the hype?…read more We stopped by Ivanhoe's for lunch during a work trip. I've been told the place is supposed to be an "Indiana destination location"... I don't get it. Ivanhoe's was ok, but nothing special. It's like a rundown and dilapidated Culver's, but with a smaller menu and the food isn't nearly as good. We got there at 11:40 and it was busier than a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest... It was literally like an AARP Club in there (we were the young whipper snappers). The service was friendly, but it took 40 minutes for us to order and get our food... Their operations were super slow and inefficient. The food itself was alright (decent pork tenderloin) and they have an ice cream menu the size of Texas, but overall it just wasn't anything to write home about. Ivanhoe's is your quintessential podunk small town Indiana restaurant, which is cool but not worth all the hype... Good? Yes. Great? No.

Tenderloins? Sure, we'll drive to Summitville to give them a try!…read more You don't get more authentic-Indiana-hometown than this. I heard about this spot from friends so we decided to take our old car out for a run on a cooler August day. We sat on the patio which is about the size of the indoor dining room, about 8 4-top tables with overhead fans. We both ordered the Hoosier, a tenderloin sandwich fixed to order, fried or grilled. They are very generous in size and decently flavored. The Mac and cheese side was lackluster but the french fries are amazing and it's all served on china with cloth napkins, wow! Our waitress did a great job so, altogether, a nice lunch spot.

Mom and I were out riding around on Thursday afternoon and decided to try this place out. Service…read morewas slow as the one we had was assigned way too many tables at one time. We ordered the onion petals for an appetizer and those were good. Mom got the tenderloin with mashed potatoes and green beans and I got the fried chicken with all white meat and mashed potatoes and gravy with Mac and cheese. Mom loved the tenderloin and green beans, and I liked the Mac and cheese, neither of us liked the mashed potatoes because they obviously loaded them down with sour cream which didn't taste good with gravy on it. The sour cream overpowering the potatoes so that was a no from us. I wanted so bad to like their fried chicken but they cooked it so long it was like tire rubber and some parts couldn't even be pulled off the bone. The place was nice inside and they have a nice patio outside and it was a nice 82 degree day but it was so windy Mom wanted to eat inside. They bring out a basket of bread and their butter was delicious. Mom tried the XXX root beer and liked it. The iced tea was okay, We would go back again but I would be hesitant to order the fried chicken next time. Someone beside us ordered the taco salad and it looked delicious.
