Greek Fries (swimming in Oil) not edible. Had to throw away.
    Kevin B.

300 Hyland Dr., Henrietta, NY 14623: Not sure where to start. Using the iPhone Ap was easy. Everything was downhill from there. The customer service, once in the store, was very poor. Great Kids just poorly trained. The presentation of the food in the containers was sloppy and not sauce chosen proportional. One meal had so much excess sauce that the food was not edible. Our side, the Greek Fries were literally swimming in oil - see picture. I threw out the fries and one of the two meals. A complete waste of money. Feedback for Owner: you need to train your employees on true customer service and how to make the meals. You lost a customer today because I had a similar experience from two of your locations. That suggest it must be a systems (pay, hours, hiring and training) issue. I will try you again in 30 days.

A big fan of the fast, casual build it yourself trend. Rachel's fits right into that. I ordered a spring mix bowl with double protein and a bottle of water. The cost is on par with similar restaurants. The ingredients are fresh and portions were generous. I did find myself looking for hot sauce but that's just my taste. Negatives for me: no soda machine (I need my diet Coke with lime) and no Apple pay at the register. Positives: fresh food that's customizable, friendly service. However, I'd return in the future.

This place started strong when it opened and I still really crave it, but it's been disappointing lately. Every time I go in the workers seem to have a "not it" attitude about waiting on customers and they seem to be confused about putting food together. I'm disappointed in the portions lately as well. Since they opened, the bowls have gotten smaller and their salads hardly have any lettuce in them! Last time I went, they didn't have tzatziki for the falafel and they said they don't carry garlic sauce anymore. I'm just about to give up on this place. And it's VERY expensive for what you get. I can go to other Mediterranean places in the area and get twice the amount of food for the price they charge. This place could be so great, but they need to get their act together quick.

Definitely not going to complain about another healthy eatery option in Henrietta! I decided to stop by Rachel's after stopping by UPS and it was well worth the pit stop. The basic concept is a "build your own" meal type of restaurant, similar to Chipotle and Naantastic. They have a variety of meat, rice and veggie options with a Mediterranean/Greek flavor profile influence. The food is good and everything appeared to be freshly prepared. I built my own chicken bowl with rice and veggies, with tzatziki sauce and garlic sauce. I think I overdid it with the garlic sauce since I could smell the garlic for the rest of the day, but otherwise I can't complain! In my opinion, based on this one meal it met my craving for Mediterranean food but not as good as some of the local establishments that really specialize in this type of cuisine. Finally, I felt safe ordering food from here as the restaurant had good safety and cleaning protocols. Everyone was masked and there was appropriate social distancing.

Tried to show size comparison to an avocado it was pretty small for more than $11

So I checked out Rachel's in the Village of Pittsford for the first time today. I could not find the Pittsford location on Yelp so I am writing this under the Henrietta location. I ordered the chicken Shawarma in a pita... I had assumed they would be homemade pita based on some thing I saw on the sign but I don't think they were. Just like chipotle you walk down the line and you can tell them what you would like inside which is nice to make it as you want it. What shocked me though was the price. For a smallish pita with chicken and vegetables inside it was $11.29! No side no chips no salad no nothing just a small pita wrap for over $11.

I remember trying Rachel's years ago in Buffalo, one of my first times trying Mediterranean food, and had very fond memories of the experience. I was excited to hear about this fast casual addition to Rochester. This place is your typical "chipotle" type of Restaurant for Mediterranean food. The food is good and there is a lot of options for toppings. The location is nice and the service was quick. Not five stars for the fact that it is a little pricey compared to the serving size and what you could get for other local Mediterranean options in the Rochester area. The dill sauce is delicious though!

I noticed that this restaurant had opened recently, so I decided to give it a try today. Rachel's Kitchen is a Mediterranean restaurant chain that started in Bufffalo, with 7 locations there and now this location in Rochester. The decor is sparse and cafeteria-looking, but clean. The staff was friendly. (There was a Manager and three staff working the counter and one guy, manning the grill area, who was just staring into space, looking like he wanted to kill himself if he didn't get something to do soon). I spoke briefly with the Manager and he was nice enough to let me try the chicken. The griilled chicken was nothing special. The shawarma chickenn was nice, very garlicky. (He told me twice that this was chicken with garlic and potato.) I asked him if they made everything from scratch, right there. He said yes. Then... Me: "So everything is homemade, made from scratch here? So, you make the falafel?" Manager: "Yes." Me: "Oh, that's good. What's in your falafel?" Manager: "Well, things are made in Buffalo." So, not completely honest, not completely dishonest, I guess. I THINK it's all homemade, just made in Buffalo and transported to Rochester. But, I can't be sure. I have reached out to Rachel's through their homepage to clarify this, but haven't heard back yet. I will update this review when and if I get an answer. I moved down the line to get my gyro. Items are made Chipotle-style, where you let the staff person know what you would like. That is a nice option, because you can put anything you want in your pita, wrap or bowl. Everything looked pretty fresh. And, the tabbouleh, even though I didn't try it, looked good---more parsley than bulgur, as it should be. I got a standard gyro---pita, gyro slices, tomato, lettuce, red onion, feta and tzatziki sauce. You can get falafel as side order, so I got falafel, too. They come two to an order and came with some tahini sauce. One thing is that they do not carve the gyro from a spit, like most everyone else does. It comes in prepared strips. I am assuming that Rachel's does not make that meat and purchases it already prepared. If that's not the case, I will update the review. The gyro was pretty good. The gyro slices were mild, but had some flavor. (Maybe if they were freshly-sliced from a rotisserie, they would be more flavorful.) However, they were pulled out of a bin and not reheated, so they were just barely warm. I'm not sure they are keeping those food bins at the proper temperature, especially for the meat. So, all in all, it was a gyro. Not the best I've had. Not the worst I've had. (The Manager told me that the gyro didn't represent the best they had to offer and the Chicken Shawarma was the thing to order.) The falafel were very good, though. A little bit larger than the typical falafel (hard to tell by the picture), crIpsy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. The accompanyying tahini sauce was good, nice and lemony. At 2 for $1.00, I think they are a good deal and would get them again. Update 3/15/20: Since I have reached out to Rachel's several times and they refuse to answer me, I can only assume two things: (1) They do not make all of their food from scratch and some or all of their food is commercially-prepared. (2) There is absolutely no reason that they are charging substantially more for their food than any other Mediterranean restaurant in the area. The big reason why I am giving Rachel's three stars and not four or five? The prices!!! They are way out of line with their pricing. What with so many Mediterranean restaurants in Rochester, I don't see how they expect to capture much of the market at their current prices. (I have asked Rachel's why they are so expensive compared to other Mediterranean reestaurants in my email. Let's see if they have an answer to that.) For example, Rachel's Kitchen charges $10.10 for the gyro or chicken shawarma pita. Wow!!! Here's what other restaurants in the area charge: Sultan's $6.49 Basha $9.00 Aladdin's $7.95 Sinbad's $7.75 Cedar $7.50/8.00 (chicken) Dalia's $6.95 At Mediterranean Kebab House, you can get a gyro or chicken pita WITH fries AND a drink for So, what's up with that, Rachel's? Two to three dollars more than most other restaurants in the area? It's not like they're serving anything that the other places aren't. The bottom line....the same food exists all over Rochester (some of it better, in my opinion) at better prices. I won't be returning to Rachel's.....unless I have a serious falafel craving and I'm in the area.

I've had Rachel's twice now for takeout and it has been really delicious. The menu options include pita wraps, salad bowls, and grain bowls. This is a fast casual place, similar to Chipotle, for American Mediterranean food. Both times I have gotten a rice bowl, which you can either have a meat base or choose just veggies. The toppings are unlimited, which is great, and you can pick up to two sauces. Everything has been really fresh, a good portion size, and delicious. That being said - super heavy on the garlic and onion flavors. I love garlic so not a problem, but bring gum! The most recent time they did forget my sauces on the side, which is why I took one star off. Also - get the pita chips! Huge bag that can serve multiple people. The hummus side also came in a huge container and was excellent!

My daughter treated me to lunch here because it always looks so good in the advertisement that I wanted to try it. I'm glad we did. We went about 11:30ish and found it wasn't too busy yet. It is very clean and uncluttered. You walk up and place your order. They answer any questions I had and FILLED my wrap beyond capacity! I got the steak and the meat was delicious, lean and tender. I added a sauce along with the lettuce, tomato and feta cheese. You have other choices too. I also got the Greek fries which had oil, feta cheese and sauce on them. So very good! I left with part of my wrap and fries which tastes delicious later too. Their seating is well distanced inside and outside. Very nice lunch. I will be heading back soon!

Considering this is the first time I have had Turkish cuisine I don't have anything to compare to. But I do know that the food was fantastic. The service was awesome and I want to come back already, even though I'm so full. Yum is casual. It has like family owned restaurant/small bakery feel. I did not get any of the bakery treats, but they looked amazing. I've told they're all made from scratch. The food itself was fantastic. We ordered the Lahmacun as an appetizer. I could've eaten just that and been satisfied. It was like a flap bread with ground meat seasoning on it that you roll up and eat. It was delicious highly recommend. I ordered Ezo Gelin or lentil soup if you will. Lots of flavors, not spicy at all, and it comes with this amazing bread to dip into it. And for the entrée, which at this point I really didn't need to eat because I was so full Beyti Kebab. It was this ground beef seasoned kebab, wrapped in thin dough that had some sort of tomato sauce on it and yogurt in the middle of the whole thing to dip in. I could not stop eating it no matter how full I got. All in all this was an amazing dining experience that I've never had as I've never tried Turkish cuisine before. I will come back to this location again and recommend it to you if you've never tried Turkish food here's a good place to start.
