Last Tuesday was my second visit to Peppermints in Henrietta, NY. And another winning evening. We were a group of 13, so I had made a reservation a couple of days ahead. When we arrived tables had been set up for us and the arrangement was excellent. Our server was also excellent-- patient, efficient, patient, friendly and courteous, and patient. Three of us were children. I had the taco salad. I often get taco salad, and this was one of the best. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We were a smaller than usual family get-together, and stayed about to closing. I think if you're going to bring a group to a restaurant and stay for 3 hours, a Tuesday evening is probably a good bet. We have ordered takeout from here in the past, one of the few remaining diner restaurants open for dinner. We will not be ordering again. Turkey Club with barely any meat, probably 2 oz at best, the turkey was not roasted turkey, it was deli meat and the bread was not toasted. Greek chicken wrap, the wrap was soggy likely from the olives that weren't drained and too much dressing, no feta cheese. Cost of takeout for 2 sandwiches with a salad substitute on 1...$35.00. We work very hard for our wages and eat out once a week as a splurge. No thank you. read more

The breakfast was just ok, but not outstanding! They need bigger plates; I don't care to dig under the eggs and toast and bacon to find my home fries. Eggs over easy were fine, bacon was ok, toast tasted old and had almost zero butter, and home fries when I got to them were not seasoned and had absorbed the bacon greece. read more

A great diner in Rochester- right across the way from the RIT hotel and conference center, just off the thruway. Reasonable price for 'comfort diner' foods. The restaurant is mostly booths - which I loved. Service was friendly and accepted meal modifications with a smile. Very clean. read more

Not a bad spot. Stopped in for a lte lunch on Saturday, back to school (RIT) weekend. Outside could use a little sprucing up, so could the inside for that matter. We were seated right away and drinks came out quickly. We ordered a hot dog, mozzarella sticks, Reuben, and burger, as well as a sampler appetizer. Appetizer came out fast and really hit the spot. Hot dog was mediocre, and came with a bag of chips. Burger was ok, and fries were really good. Onion rings, tenders and mozzarella sticks were all good, and Reuben was also good. Overall a really nice time, the location was easy to find right off the main road and there is ample parking for the building. I went with two friends on a Sunday at 11 (brunch time) and we were seated within a few minutes so no wait time even for a typically busy time. Our waitress was very nice and attentive and we had our drinks shortly after sitting down. I got one of the specials the Santa Fe omelet with hash and toast. It was very good, nice and light and not overly cheesy. The hash was seasoned well and not dry or burnt. It was a little mushy and I prefer a little crispier but nonetheless still very good. The only negative I had was that I felt like we were being rushed the entire time. For the entire process from sitting to food it was like 15-20 minutes. I came to meet up with friends and so we wanted to sit and chat for a bit but every-time someone came by it felt like we were overstaying our welcome. Had not been in this place for years but I was close by and hungry this Sunday so figured I'd grab a late breakfast. The inside is nice enough, feels like Denny or Perkins that had seen better days. It's just REALLY worn when you take a closer look around. There was no hostess so I had to wait for a waitress to be free to seat me. There is a bar but they have those ancient attached chairs that I just don't get the point of. There was also a dessert case but nothing was labeled so can't say what was inside but they looked good. Service was fast and menu is pricey and leans Greek. Most breakfast ran around $20 per person said and done. Seemed steep to me. Compared to the diners I frequent in Webster and Greece. I got bowl of potatoes and scrambled eggs with toast. It was HEAVILY sauced with hollandaise. I found most of the meat and veggies inside to be undercooked which makes sense as it came out super fast. Which would be great if was cooked all the way lol. Toast came with almost no butter in it but was toasted well. Home fry and scrambled eggs skillet \bowls can be great if the time is taken to cook and layer everything with intention. This was not that. Just a messy bowl of mixed flavors that were mostly indistinguishable from each other. I had to switch to a spoon it was such a goopy tasteless mess. No wonder I overheard the waitresses lamenting how business was slow. I love local spots and sometimes mastalgia can carry someplace that's lacking but there's just too much good food in Rochester to eat here again. What overpriced and unpalatable food. read more

Looks like a family restaurant straight out of the 1990s. Clean, but dated. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the food so don't let the decor sway you. Portions are big. My husband and I both had the spinach and feta omelette with shredded hasbrowns that were crispy and with the perfect amount of grease. Sour dough was an option for toast which I thought was great instead of standard cheap white bread. 12 year old had a kids grilled cheese with fries from the kids menu. It was about $8 but came with a drink and the portion was more than enough. The 6 year old had Mickey Mouse pancake which was HUGE - enough for a couple of kids to share and also came with a drink. The portion at this restaurant are pretty large. We ordered the blueberry pancakes and was only able to eat less than half of the plate. I wanted to get the blueberry waffles as I was told they are really good, Unfortunately, we arrived at the restaurant 30 minutes too late. I am still craving good waffles...will have to find a restaurant soon! Instead, I ordered the captains platter. It was good. All fried food so not too much to say about it. Surprisingly, the coleslaw was really good. I am usually not a fan of it, but this was tasty. Never have I seen jambalaya look this way, but it was okay. The spiced chai tea was really good! We actually ordered several cups to-go. We were basically looking for a place to have breakfast/lunch and ended up here. It was good enough, but will probably not visit again if in Rochester.
