Ronny pierced my eyebrow a couple months ago & I love it!!! I'm so sad but today I had to go back in to get it taken out because I got hired at a new job and have to take it out, he was the one who helped me taking it out. I went here about a week ago for my naval piercing, my experience was pleasant in the shop, however the piercer Ron or Ronny whatever he goes by put in a bar that was WAY to small for me. He did do a great job of explaining aftercare, and I've been following that as instructed, but he's just a bad piercer. DONT GO TO HIM! When I called asking if they could switch it out they were very weird about it and made it seem like it was my fault. I knew the next day when I woke up that the bar was too small and tried to contact them but no one was answering. It took me a while to get a hold of someone. Ronny is the best. I came in with a a keloid on a right lobe orbital and some irritation on a vertical industrial. It was mostly due to jewelry fit since I've had these for a while, but specifically the v industrial I needed a size that most shops I've been to don't have. After looking through virtually all the jewelry in the shop; Ronny took a dimple piercing, that if I remember correctly, he said he modifies to have a flat back for the check and it turns out it could not fit more perfect. I left feeling sooo much better. Funnily enough I relocated to the area recently and it turns out I actually had my left lobe orbital done at the shop a while ago when visiting a friend and I never had any issues with that one. Wish I would have read the reviews before coming here as this has happened to others as well. I had went a day prior to getting my tattoo done asking for an estimate and to have the tattoo drawn up. The tattoo was 3 small butterfly's done on both me and my moms hands. The owner of the shop gave me an estimate of $250 for both tattoos as they wouldn't have taken long or $150 an hour. Upon arrival, and after completing the tattoo I went to pay the remaining balance and he said the tattoos were now $500. With that being said both tattoos being drawn and tattooed only took 2 hours total meaning we were charged $250 an hour.... The tattoo was done well on the artists part but I wish the owner was honest with the prices. read more

have known Ronny for fifteen years. Ronny has done three piercings for me personally, and I also go to his parlor for tattoos. I am very particular in who I go to see for tattoos and piercings and Skin Lab was the first tattoo parlor I walked into where I didn't feel uncomfortable. I have referred friends and family to Ronny for piercings, and his artists for tattoos. He is not creepy. Ronny cares very much about everybody he pierces and does not like for anybody to feel any sort of discomfort or pain and does his best to make sure that when people walk out of Skin Lab, they are happy. To give you an idea of the type of person Ronny, the OWNER of Skin Lab is, he found out that I did not eat the day I came in for a eight hour tattoo session. Ronny stopped what he was doing, went to the grocery store, and came back to the shop and made me a sandwich so that I had something to eat before my session began. This became something he did everytime. When he pierced my lip, he didn't make me feel uncomfortable. When he pierced my septum, he didn't make me feel uncomfortable. When he pierced my nose, he didn't make me feel uncomfortable. If he had made me uncomfortable, I certainly wouldn't have taken my brothers, my mom, my sisters or friends to his parlor. Which I have done over the last fifteen years. I think it is disgusting that there are women saying that he should he fired for sexual assault. As a survivor of sexual assault and rape, it is disgusting that people would lie like this. Maybe they are just upset because they came in offering favors for discounted piercings and were rejected. Who knows? The very reason that I would go to Skin Lab is because I have always felt very safe when I was there. He would always make sure that when I was being tattooed that no customers could walk in and see me in any state of undress staring at the work being done. Most parlors in Arizona do NOT have that sort of privacy. He never touched me inappropriately and each time he pierced me, he let me know exactly what he was doing and where his hands were going to be. This was the same experience for everybody that I have sent to Ronny for piercings. He makes himself available to all of his clients if they have any questions or concerns after the piercings are completed and that isn't something most piercers actually do. Ronny cares about aftercare more than most. His parlor is cleaner than most medical facilities, and even though he doesn't have to be, he is extremely polite and goes out of his way to make people's experiences at his parlor the best that he can. If my own children decide that they want piercings, when they make that decision, I will be taking them to Ronny because not only do I trust him as a piercer, but because I know he will show them nothing but the same respect he has the dozens of friends and family I have sent his way. read more

Went into the shop for a simple helix piercing last night since it was the only thing open, save yourself, your body, your bank account, and go somewhere else. Not only did the needle get STUCK halfway through the piercing in my ear, making the process way more painful+long+bloody than needed, but there is also what looks to be a chunk of cartilage/skin that got ripped away during the process. Several hours later, piercing is still bleeding on and off, very painful, and was simply very poorly done to say the least. Not to mention I asked specifically for a gem earring, but I guess my piercer was simply unable to put the gem on??? Which basically left me with a giant, ugly, silver plate in my ear, that I didn't even realize was going to be there. All the piercer said was a comment about needing smaller fingers to put the gem on, like isn't that your literal job? There was absolutely zero communication about him choosing to switch the earring, he just did it without consulting me, so basically by the time I realized, it was too late. Not going to be surprised if I have future problems with this piercing. Might as well take it out now and save myself the hassle except that means I basically just threw money at the place that I obviously won't get back. I currently already have 6 piercings that give me no trouble, didn't bleed when pierced, didn't get infected, and are healed and looking well to this day. Obviously a fresh piercing is going to be red/swollen/etc. but this is taking it to a new level and I have NEVER had a piercing look like once it was finished several hours later. Clearly this guy does not know how to do his job and i'm surprised he has a business, can't say I'll ever return. read more

Wanted to get spontaneous tattoos with my friend on a Saturday night & this was one of the only shops open past 9pm! Called them around 7pm and they were able to get us in around 8pm the same night. I got a three word quote on my upper thigh and my friend got a pine tree with a bird above her elbow! The tats were around $140 each without tip. I can't remember the name of the artist that did our tattoos... but they turned out amazing!!!! We both love them so much! I called ahead to see how much a nose piercing would cost, Ronny told me over the phone it would be $55 including the jewelry and aftercare, I ended up paying $70 plus a tip. This place is as bad as it looks and holds up to it's reputation of terrible reviews. I wish I had looked at the reviews before we stopped by. Do not bother giving them your business...they don't care if they get your business nor do they possess any level of professionalism. My boyfriend and I came in for a spontaneous simple line work symbol tattoo mid afternoon. We happened to be in the area, they happened to be open and although I was reluctant simply by the looks of the shop, we came in for a quote. When we walked in, there was no one to speak to. We hung out in the lobby waiting for someone. The piercer walked up from the back who was pleasant (at first) and advised us that his tattoo artist was somewhere down the block and wasn't at the shop and asked us to wait for him to come back. He seemed to have texted him several times advising him that they had customers for a tattoo. A tattoo artist named Josh came through the front door about 15 minutes or so later with his hands full and told us to wait for him to put his stuff down. He went in the back and came back to the lobby with his hands full still...and refused to properly greet us or shake hands. When my boyfriend asked him why he refused to introduce himself, Josh said "because my hands are full. Want to hold my stuff? But then your hands will be full." Josh then stood there looking at him like...what do you want? My boyfriend still proceeded to tell him the symbol he wanted and the size even though this artist was being a testosterone oozing egotistical jerk. In my opinion, we should have left as soon as the tattoo artist showed up with his unprofessional ego. We were taken back by his attitude and I for one was extremely uncomfortable. I immediately wanted to leave. Josh abruptly left the lobby and we stood there wondering what just happened. The piercer came back to the lobby looking at us like..."so you gonna do this or what?" My boyfriend said "we haven't even gotten a quote yet. Can someone give us a quote for what I want?" The piercer rambled off a number "uhhh...it's going to be $140-$160". My boyfriend told the piercer that he was not comfortable with the price for such a small simple design and was not happy with the way he was treated and we were just going to leave but would be writing a review about our experience. The piercer suddenly became offended. He proceeded to follow us out the door yelling at us into the parking lot. I'm not sure what he was yelling. But in the time it took us to get in the car and leave, he had been outside twice yelling at us as we drove off. I don't care what type of business you're in, you don't treat customers like that. At some point, someone will sue this business and their doors will be closed permanently. I'm shocked they are even an established business. I have a lot of skilled and accredited tattoo artists locally that I personally go to and not once have I ever seen a shop conduct business this way. It's sloppy, unprofessional and an insult to the artists in AZ who take pride in making this artform a profession. Get some new management that knows what they are doing and definitely find some new tattoo artists. This was an appauling experience. read more

Male piercer is weird af and looks and acts like he's under the influence of hard drugs every time I've been in there. I've overlooked it because he surprisingly does decent piercings for an okay price. The past three times i have tried to go here they were randomly closed during there normal business hours. No sign. I really hope no one else comes and gets pierced here. I recently got my ear (rook) pierced here. To start, the piercing was very crooked and 4 days later my ear won't stop throbbing and burning. I had it checked by a professional who had told me it was pierced way too thick and the jewelry was extremely low quality. I have very sensitive skin and was told the jewelry was high quality and I wouldn't have any issues. Since what they gave me is such low quality jewelry, my ear started getting irritated very soon after I left. I thought it only constantly hurt because I just got it pierced (like anyone else would think) but after a few days living with this pain I decided to get it looked at. I believe I paid way too much for bad jewelry and a botched piercing. I am so mad at myself for going here and not reading the reviews first.
