Local life hack: Not waiting in stopped traffic to pay $50 for the crowded beach events parking if you're just trying to hangout at the beach! Instead: rent a bike here and park for free in the plaza as a paying customer! Bike to the beach instead - it's only 5 minutes, and you get fresh air, activity, and exercise! Worker was very laid back and friendly, great experience. Our rental was somehow only $10 for several hours. They won't be giving you top tier road bikes or cruisers of course but it bikes! read more

What great service. I took my Motiv electric bike in for servicing last week and a tune up. I got there yesterday and not only is it driving great, Jay cleaned it up all nice and pretty. He even got the corrosion off the spokes. I definitely recommend buying, renting or tuning up your bike here. Very professional and great pricing. Thanks Jay! read more

Jay at Fresh Electric Bikes is a Local Legend! We can't say enough good things about Jay and Fresh Electric Bikes. When we had friends visiting and needed bikes last-minute--on a very busy day--Jay somehow made it happen. The shop was packed, and he had every reason to be overwhelmed, but instead, he went above and beyond to take care of us like we were his only customers. That's the kind of service that makes you a customer for life. We always go to Jay when we have guests in town and want to cruise the beach on electric bikes. His fleet is top-notch, and the process is always smooth. But here's the kicker: even other bike shops in Huntington Beach send their customers to Jay when it comes to service. That speaks volumes. It's rare these days to find someone who cares this much about his business and his customers. If you're thinking about renting or buying a bike, skip the hassle and just go to Jay. Great little place to rent e-bikes! They have a good variety of rental bikes (even accommodated my less than 5' tall family member) and include helmets and locks with rental. Good orientation for first-timers and got to trouble shoot in the parking lot. Easy access to the HB bike path within a few minutes. Credit card is charged at the end, so we had the option for ride just a couple hours or all day. Everyone had a great time cruising down to Newport Beach. We'd definitely do this again! read more

I searched around Huntington Beach & online for an electric bike. Stumbled upon this business. Went and checked out the bikes they offered. The owner was nice and answered all my questions. I came back with my girlfriend and we bought a pair. Before we bought them, the owner let us test ride them and told us about the warranty & the bike options. We ended up purchasing two fold away bikes. One red, one white. We're both extremely satisfied with our purchase. I'd definitely recommend this place, you won't regret it. read more

Amazing!!! Best part about this place is that parking is FREE in the parking lot! And it's just down the street from the beach. Prices are super affordable for both regular bikes and electric bikes. Electric bikes are a must try!!! 2 hour minimum but it goes by fast. My family and I had a party of 9, and we all enjoyed it so much! I bought a new E bike from Jay about 4 months ago and it's been a really fun investment. A couple of weeks ago the computer module started acting up and would only turn on half of the time, I called the shop and they bring it down and we'll take a look at it. So yesterday I loaded my bike up and prepared to drop it off hopefully picking up the next day so I can ride this weekend. I backed my truck up to the shop and started unloading my bike, couldn't even get in the front door before Jay came out and started inspecting, battery etc. He then went to test the control module and determined it was faulty, he fixed it right on the spot and I was out of there there in 10 minutes. Great service and very friendly! read more

Electric Bicycles and More! I am a fan of anything active. I was surprised to find this store. I was just walking by and the whole plaza is being remodeled. I saw bikes in the door way. They were all electric!!! How cool. I do prefer riding a bike that is not motorized. Actually, I have never ridden an electric bike. I was surprised at the selection and diversity of bikes they had. They even had a foldable electric bike. Well, I did not buy one. I still prefer to pedal. The gentleman helping me was super nice. He even sized it for her and adjusted the straps. I thought about things I might need and I asked him if he had a helmet for the little one. Yup, sure enough he did! It was priced right and turned out to be a sweet deal. I was very impressed with the service. A couple of stickers purchased off of main street today have started the helmet off on the right note. The little one was stylin' on her new ride with her new helmet. She got countless comments and compliments. I am pretty sure she was the star of the bike path at HB today! What a great way to start of our day with the great customer service at this family owned business! I am a fan! It's businesses like this that make OC the best place to live. We are from out of the area, in Huntington Beach camping . I called in with a problem with one of our Electric Bikes. Dave answered the phone, understood that I was on vacation, I wouldn't be in HB for very long and couldn't use my bike while at the beach . He had me come the next morning and immediately solved the issue, I was back on the road with my bike just minutes later. GREAT GUY! Nice shop and GOOD service . I recently rented two E bikes here last week on a weekend trip to HB. Staff super friendly and took the time to show us everything we needed to know about the bikes. Bikes were in excellent condition. We cruised all day on them without any issues. He wasn't too far from the beach and easy to find with free parking. We are extremely happy with our two Motiv electric bikes from Fresch. We have had them for six months now. We just did a tune up on them with Jay. We enjoy riding the many trails in the OC. Jay was so helpful and was very reliable, doing what he said when he said it. He was so helpful when my daughter and her friend rented bikes from him. He was patient when showing them how to use the electric bike and was patient with all of our questions. He was very reasonably priced and easy to communicate with. He seems to be running the shop by himself, so he sometimes is busy, but he multitasks well and always with a smile! I found the muffins and donuts, but it took a little longer to find a great bike shop. I stopped by several of them in the Huntington Beach area and I found one that has a real passion for the customer, Huntington Beach Cycles on Atlanta. They recently had to make a tough decision. They got so backed up with service work they needed to lock the doors to focus on repairs which created no bike sales or parts sales for the few days they had to close. I know it's tough on some of us that had bikes in behind closed doors, but I respect a business owner to keep his commitment to service and repair the bikes that he had taken in and focus on his service. During the last several weeks they lost a technician and that put some extra workload on the rest of the staff. Mike did a great job servicing our bikes. I also noticed that the owner of the shop, Kevin, has an outstanding relationship with his team and they all share his passion for the customer. I remember going in our 1st time when it was first opened with different owners. They were fantastic & made me feel comfortable. They were not intimidating and the service went great. We took our bikes there a 2nd time, I don't know who the owner was at the time, and everything was fine. This is our 3rd time taking our bikes for service there. This time our experience was not the same under the current ownership. No shade to the owner. He was very nice & pleasant. I'm glad to see a lot of good reviews but that was not my experience. We dropped off our mountain non-e bikes for general service as they weren't running great at the end of the week. He mentioned that they'd be looked at the following Tuesday with an estimate (week 1). He mentioned that it'd be possible to adjust recommended repairs to suit our budget. Great! No problem. Very considerate suggestion. But we didn't hear from him on Tuesday or any day that 1st week. We tried calling a couple times that week but no answer. We tried stopping by at 11 (posted opening time was 10) and there was a note on the door they open at noon. We stopped by another day & it seems there was a family emergency so he'd get to us the 2nd week. We got busy and another week rolled around and a 2nd Tuesday with no news on the repair estimate. We called a couple times the 2nd week & there was no answer. We stopped by around 4:30 and it was closed (posted closing time was 6). We called again that weekend & he said his tech would come in the next Tuesday, the 3rd week, to look at the bikes. At this point, the bikes are sitting in the shop for 2 full weeks going on a 3rd before anyone even looks at them for an estimate. This does not inspire confidence that the bikes would even be done that 3rd week. While maybe they would have finally been repaired in the 3rd week, we decided cut our losses & take our bikes elsewhere. I truly hope this business succeeds, but we're probably not going to go back.

Made appointment and was then told they could do a tune up and change the rear tire but they couldn't change the front tire because it's a "Quick Release" front tire on the front fork. Note that this is a foldable bike with stock original quick release front tire for transporting, no modifications. II said I don't understand, I'm in the Huntington Beach store where I purchased the Rad bike and you won't change the front tire with another Rad tire? ANSWER: No. you purchased the bike from "Rad Power Bikes Inc" which was sold to "Rad *+%#!£¥€! Corporation" and we no longer service those old bikes with the quick release axel on the front fork due to "Safety Reasons". Safety reasons? Whose safety? The service technician or the owner? If it's the owner was there a recall??! Sounded to me like another strong case of Corporate Winnie BS so I left with my bike and went to my local bike shop who was more than happy to change my tires. Bottom Line: Buyer beware. I purchased from this company when there was a lot of start up companies selling cheap Chinese crap for far less believing a large company would stand the test of time and stand by their product. I even recommended them to 4 friends who purchased their bikes from them. Now I get to call them and say hey I'm so sorry! If they won't even change their own stock tire imagine what they won't do with something more serious. I'd go down the street, there are plenty of other e-bike companies out there.

Rather than briefly answering or directing us to someone who could help, he responded, "I'm busy with another customer right now," without making eye contact. The interaction made us feel like an inconvenience The question would have helped us determine whether we were ready to move forward with purchasing. A little acknowledgment and basic customer service would have made a significant difference. Based on this experience, we will be taking our business elsewhere and would not return.

While traveling in the OC, my bike needed repairs. I had taken it to a dealer in NorCal where I live but it was not 100% fixed. Jay at Fresch diagnosed the problem and pointed out a couple of other items that needed adjustment. Cristine from the factory brought the parts needed to Fresch and my bike got fixed in a day! I found the muffins and donuts, but it took a little longer to find a great bike shop. I stopped by several of them in the Huntington Beach area and I found one that has a real passion for the customer, Huntington Beach Cycles on Atlanta. They recently had to make a tough decision. They got so backed up with service work they needed to lock the doors to focus on repairs which created no bike sales or parts sales for the few days they had to close. I know it's tough on some of us that had bikes in behind closed doors, but I respect a business owner to keep his commitment to service and repair the bikes that he had taken in and focus on his service. During the last several weeks they lost a technician and that put some extra workload on the rest of the staff. Mike did a great job servicing our bikes. I also noticed that the owner of the shop, Kevin, has an outstanding relationship with his team and they all share his passion for the customer. I remember going in our 1st time when it was first opened with different owners. They were fantastic & made me feel comfortable. They were not intimidating and the service went great. We took our bikes there a 2nd time, I don't know who the owner was at the time, and everything was fine. This is our 3rd time taking our bikes for service there. This time our experience was not the same under the current ownership. No shade to the owner. He was very nice & pleasant. I'm glad to see a lot of good reviews but that was not my experience. We dropped off our mountain non-e bikes for general service as they weren't running great at the end of the week. He mentioned that they'd be looked at the following Tuesday with an estimate (week 1). He mentioned that it'd be possible to adjust recommended repairs to suit our budget. Great! No problem. Very considerate suggestion. But we didn't hear from him on Tuesday or any day that 1st week. We tried calling a couple times that week but no answer. We tried stopping by at 11 (posted opening time was 10) and there was a note on the door they open at noon. We stopped by another day & it seems there was a family emergency so he'd get to us the 2nd week. We got busy and another week rolled around and a 2nd Tuesday with no news on the repair estimate. We called a couple times the 2nd week & there was no answer. We stopped by around 4:30 and it was closed (posted closing time was 6). We called again that weekend & he said his tech would come in the next Tuesday, the 3rd week, to look at the bikes. At this point, the bikes are sitting in the shop for 2 full weeks going on a 3rd before anyone even looks at them for an estimate. This does not inspire confidence that the bikes would even be done that 3rd week. While maybe they would have finally been repaired in the 3rd week, we decided cut our losses & take our bikes elsewhere. I truly hope this business succeeds, but we're probably not going to go back.
