My favorite flavor of the Rad Roasting Company!
    Nikki T.

This is THE best coffee Ive had in the northwest. I have been a long time coffee drinker and customer, I am so thankful I found them!! Matt and his family are super friendly and willing to let you have a sample, or will help you pick the right flavor beans that work for your coffee machine or taste. I will continue to be a customer!!

    Pretty rad.

I can never make time to visit their newer location at the downtown Waterfront, so I instead took…read moresome time after work on a Tuesday around 3:30pm to drive down to Renton instead to get coffee here. My first thought getting in here was: how do they have so much real estate in here yet still make it relaxing to stay and do your WFH stuff in? It's wide, there's tons of tables and seating, and the menu - though a little hard to read since it's behind the counter. Music isn't too loud either so even more relaxing! Staff were quick in making drinks, or just long enough so you can enjoy the calming effects of the overall surroundings. I got their purple rain, which has ube hints, juniper, espresso and whole milk. This is one of their summer drinks but they still use their own brand of coffee for this one. Strong and crisp coffee here while the ube is brought out just enough to not be covered completely by the coffee. It's a sweet, soothing layer with whole milk added to make the drink a little thicker and uniform with the coffee. I felt like I was getting a sip and smell of the outside leaves with the juniper as well, so a ton of feelings in one cup that I downed in less than 3 minutes! I will come back to try their straight-up coffee drinks!

The staff was extremely friendly. The bathrooms are clean. The tables were neat. There's plenty of seating inside and out in the back to enjoy a coffee. They had a good selection of breakfast sandwiches and lunch items for a coffee shop. If I'm in the area, I'll definitely come back again to get a coffee. Highly recommend.

They have shared parking with other neighboring businesses, but I would be careful backing out once you're done around the area, as other cars parked in that parking lot can make for bad blind spots. When you get inside, you're greeted by some brown wooden floors and ceilings, and the whole interior reminds you of a cozy but spacious treehouse with the kitchen and bar seating near the front, and three or so two-tops lined up on the walls. Go deeper inside and you'll get to their outdoor patio seating that doesn't have a picturesque view but works if you're wanting some fresh air outside. Staff was very patient with me while I was perusing the menu and baked goods at the front counter. You can get your drinks for here or to-go, and there are hot and iced options for most drinks. As mentioned, I got their grapefruit Szechuan tonic, and it's definitely a unique flavor. It's bitter like coffee and tonic, and since it was advertised as a coffee drink on social media, I was surprised the drink wasn't as thick and murky as coffee would be. There's a mild grapefruit taste that is dulled by the coffee part of this drink, and that sadly also went for the Szechaun peppers that spike this drink. It's probably just me, but while drinking this my mouth was trying to tell the difference between the tingling spice sensation that Szechaun peppers usually give off, and the mouthfeel you get when bubbly, carbonated drinks like tonic come into contact with your tongue. I wasn't sure if I was tasting spice or the popping sensation from soda. Whichever it was, it was mild and could have been stronger.
