Is diligent with my labwork (conveniently done on site) and concerns. Her referrals for specialists are always solid. Does this office have kinks to work out? Yes. The front desk staff are consistently kind, efficient, and knowledgeable -- and if they don't have an answer, they go out of their way to find it. Even staff who aren't directly helping you will greet you warmly and make you feel welcome. Dr. Duffy, in particular, is absolutely outstanding -- truly a five-star doctor. She's attentive, caring, and fun to talk to. She listens, gives thoughtful advice, and makes each appointment feel collaborative and comfortable. I moved here from out of state and was worried about transferring all my medical history and medications, but Dr. Duffy made the process seamless. The transition from California to Texas was tough, but from Texas to New York it was easy and stress-free thanks to her help. Their referral system is another major plus. After a visit, you can hand your referral slip to the front desk, and a specialist will schedule your appointment for you and provide all the details -- it couldn't be simpler. Of course, you can still schedule things yourself if you prefer, but the extra support is such a bonus. The staff overall is exceptional -- especially the lady at checkout (I believe her is named Kiara, that definitely could be wrong, I apologize if it is -- she's always so sweet and helpful). Even the waiting room has a friendly, positive vibe, and the facility itself is clean, welcoming, and feels brand new. If you're looking for a primary care provider in the Shirley area, I highly recommend Northwell Health. They accept my Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance, and I truly couldn't ask for a better healthcare experience. Right next to the Applebee's on William Floyd Parkway.

I am still in shock as to what happened to me at this office...!…read moreThe wait was long (I had an appointment) and I saw that other patients that came in long after me were being seen and I was not so I walked up to the front desk to ask the receptionist when I would be seen. She gave me the biggest eye roll and told me "there are two practitioners in the office. You'll have to wait your turn". So ok. A bitter receptionist is pretty standard in these walk-ins... HOWEVER.. what I'm about to type next is what made me write this review: I take my seat again and I hear her tell other staffers that there is a "NASTY GIRL" waiting to be seen. I turn to another patient in the waiting room in disbelief because of what we just heard and her draw dropped too! ***FRAN (I later got her name from another staffer) continued to rant but then abruptly lowered her voice to a whisper (I'm assuming Bc one of her co-workers told her she was loud) and from that point on, I knew it wasn't worth confronting this situation as the entire staff seemed very catty and I was in their for the flu and had no energy to go back and forth with this woman. I plan on speaking with the office manager as soon as I get my voice back to ensure Fran doesn't offend another patient. Her behavior was disgusting. Because of the bad taste in my mouth after hearing her call me "nasty" I could barely focus on my visit once I was called in. The nurse who took my height, weight, etc. wouldn't even look me in the eye (probably from embarrassment). I truly hope that the owner of this facility can get His/Her staff in check and hire a friendly receptionist who treats patients (who are going in there sick and miserable) with respect.
