After having my full body…read morewax appointment booked/accepted for over a month, I get a call from Hannah less than an hour & a half before my appointment to inform me that the esthetician "is sick" and that my appointment is cancelled. She shares that the next available appointment is next Friday. I explain that I'm going out of town on Monday so next Friday is not an option for me. She then proceeds to tell me that there's no other availability today and ultimately I'm just out of luck. Now with my vacation just 48 hours away and being it a holiday weekend, I am left high and dry -- thanks a lot Pure Wax. Not to mention, it's practically impossible to even book an appointment with them because of their low staffing numbers. It seems as if the estheticians are never working! And that's when you're looking weeks and months out on their calendar. Long story short, never again will I patronize or recommend Pure Wax. Find another salon that actually honors your business, folks. Note: I've emailed this establishment in the past and received no response. Another example of their piss poor customer service.

Sol is BACK and running things herself this time ya'll!!…read more For those who used to frequent that other place *cough cough* Tropical...*cough cough*, I know you've probably been down and out because Sol is no longer there and you have to pay increased prices for subpar service. I understand, but guess what? It's ok! Because I found Sol and she's literally a mile or two down the street running her own business and at amazing prices! I'm actually a few sessions overdue on this review. I've been coming to Sol's new location for the last 4 months or so now and the experience has been above par each time. Here's the craziest part...Sol doesn't even wax me anymore!...I know, I know, the horror right?! Well there was an emergency one day and they asked if I would be fine having Shelby (another esthetician there) work on me. I was hesitant but needed the wax BAD, so I said ok and never looked back. Shelby is EQUALLY as amazing as Sol, and as a result she's been who I go to every time now. I still love Sol, but I'll be honest, it's nice to know that I can book with either one of them and have the same quality experience whether she completes the service or Shelby. At Tropical, if Sol wasn't there, I was canceling my appointment... Now I read the previous review posted here and am not sure what problem that woman had, but it can't and won't be trusted lol. I've been going to Sol for 3 or 4 years now and can definitely say that she is serious about her work and even more serious about this business. I'll add pictures when I go to my next appointment, but the decor here is absolutely beautiful. You walk in and there is a waiting area with comfortable chairs and soft spa music playing. I'll be honest, I've never had to wait in the waiting area though because they make sure that my appointment starts as soon as I walk in. I love that because a lot of the time I'm always rushing and changing things with my appointment at the last minute (Indecisive Virgo here, nice to meet you). Not once have I felt rushed, or ignored here. The room itself where they do the waxes (there are several but I've only been in the same room each time) is similar to that of Tropical, except much larger with added decor, shelves, benches etc. At tropical I was always looking for places to leave my clothes and felt like the rooms were on the smaller side - You can tell that Sol put real thought into that here, then decorated accordingly. Ok this is getting lengthy. Check out this location y'all! It's affordable with high quality service and the owner is also doing the work so you know this is a passion for her, not just a money grab.
