It was nice to just walk in this Libbie Mill salon on a Saturday and be seated right away! I was impressed to see the tools for the mani/pedis are individually wrapped to maintain hygiene. They provide you with a huge plastic ring of nail palettes to make your color choice. However, the numbers don't match the colors. I wasn't crazy about how the color turned out. My fingernails and toenails didn't match. Weird. I prefer when salons have the actual nail polish bottle colors on a wall so you know exactly what color you are getting. Although the nail tech did an ok job, she layered on the polish so thick that my nails looked clumpy and you could see the line between the layers. Also, after a day, they started peeling. I've definitely had better manicures and pedicures, and with so many shops on every corner, they may need to up their game. Lastly, they only take cash tips. Very inconvenient. I've noticed this trend in a lot of nail salons and it hurts the business. Most people seldom carry cash anymore. Here's a tip: As a business, they need to suck it up and pay the credit card fees for better customer service and to help the nail techs get their tip. My tech said she took Venmo, so I sent her a tip that way, but I don't think the business should expect the employees to figure out ways to get tipped. read more

I was going to Shagbark for dinner and saw this place and thought I'd give it a try. I arrive at 8:57am for my 9am appointment. The lady wasn't there yet but he put me in the chair. She did an amazing job on my extremely dry feet. I got the charcoal pedicure. Best $50 ever. The lady that did my nails gets props for trimming my cuticles. No one ever does that with dip and it's unfortunate. You have great looking nails and ratty cuticles but she made sure they were trimmed. Two things I didn't like. One the place was dirty. Acrylic on the floor. It was dusty with cobwebs. I looked up and there was a dusty spider web from the ceiling to the top or the plant and in the corners. There was also 1/2 an acrylic nail on the little table of the pedicure chair I was sitting in. In this season of COVID variants and now the flu season please wipe the seats off, dust and sweep. Second item although she clipped my cuticles she never asked how I wanted my nails shaped. It's an almond shape but I prefer more of a pointy tip. Also my bad because I should have said something. If they clean I would go back just for that pedicure! A regular no thrills pedicure is $30. read more

Do not waste your money or time. I went here for a simple gel nail polish before a vacation and twelve hours later my nail was chipped. What a disaster! Not to mention I called the very next day to share the mishap with the business and requested that my nail be fixed when I returned home. The business owner said they cannot lose money by fixing my nail when I return from vacation in two weeks. Oh but get this they repair single gel nails for free? Wait what? The staff are rude, greedy, irrational, and cannot perform a simple gel polish. If you want to pay for poor work visit this salon if not there are literally hundreds of salons within 5 miles of this place. I came in for UV gel builder. I get this service quite often at other salons. I asked if I needed a full set since it has been a while and the male staff member stated no just a fill in as my nails are still in good condition. I also inquired about the lack of layers he put on my nails. Typically with UV gel multiple layers are put on. He stated their polish is strong and I don't need many layers. As he put 2 on only. Fast forward to one of my nails chipping only after a week of wear. I would've went back to fix or take off but I was out of town. Fast forward to now 3 weeks later all of my nails are starting to chip and the polish is peeling off. UV gel builder should never chip or peel off. Not sure what he put on my nails but they look terrible and damaged. If you're not able to do UV gel or if you don't have the polish just say that. Don't charge me for a more expensive service than what you're giving. read more

I came up to Richmond for diet together and was 2 1/2 hours early. I decided that I wanted to get my nails done last minute and I found them very quickly. They were full however they were friendly, I was greeted immediately, and was in a chair within 12 minutes of entering. I was in and out of the chair within 45 minutes and my nails look amazing. Nice little spot. If you go at lunch or after 5pm make sure to make an appointment, multiple people were turned away while I was there. No options offered or wait time, customers were just told "we don't have time". Luckily each time I've gone I was able to be seen or given a wait time of 30 minutes once asked. They are the ONLY salon I've been to that actually tells you the price as you go through the service such as basic pedicure $25, add Gel removal $5 so you will owe $30, is that ok? YES, I hate having to guess if removal is free or additional etc so I love that they give you a total as you request the service. They also have disposable pedicure tub liners which is great. Make sure you plan time because they do take their time so their basic pedicure of 30mins took about an hour from start to end of dry time. They do NOT take tips on the credit card enough though your receipt has a tip option and they are pretty blunt about it when other customers asked. Gel removal- They use the electric drill bit which has torn up my nails (I've never had a salon do this for gel) and it looks pretty bad now that the polish has been removed, next time I will ask for them to soak them off instead to prevent damaging my nails. They also pressure you to upgrade, despite declining 3 times in 1 sitting, which got awkward. Then they asked why not? It did feel a bit judge-y at times which was uncomfortable. So be prepared to let them know why you prefer one over the other, it caught me off guard and made me question my preferences like I was doing something wrong lol. read more

I had high hopes for this place because I love Libbie Mill and it is close to my house. I took a chance and met an out of town friend there for pedicures. Big mistake. It was dirty (front rug was disgusting) and there were small children running around eating food. Staff seemed bothered that we were there and didn't care that the tub water was cold or that services were missing - that were listed on the package. Will never go back to this place again.
