Wow maybe east coast just don't have my style of baking, but Radina's has the best blueberry muffin I've eaten in 15 years... Also delicious cherry danish. There is definitely something to be said for made from scratch. The coffee is also wonderful. A large cappuccino will keep you going all day for $3 and some change. This location also has some really great looking bread. I had to stop my self from pastry/bread hoarding because I don't have room in my luggage. Definitely check out Radina's for coffee if you are in the area. I'm told each location has a speciality. This location is bread, all in all Cute place, great staff, delicious baked goods. read more

I heard such great things about this place! I went for lunch and thought it was fine. The atmosphere was nice, but it was a bummer that I couldn't modify stuff. I wanted avocados on a sandwich, but I could only get avocados if I ordered an open face... Strange, seems like you could just charge me more for an additional item. Would have also been nice to have the option for a smaller smoothie, 20oz is kinda a lot. Overall it was tasty, and a lot of food (the sandwich I ordered came with a nice pasta salad), but would have appreciated the ability to customize a bit more. read more

This place is conveniently located next to my hotel. Had a few extra minutes before heading to my meeting so I walked over. Ordered a cup of house/medium blend. This is where I think I went wrong. I don't put anything to my coffee cause, well, I like the taste of coffee. The issue is you can't hide the taste without adding flavors/sugars/creamers. It tasted like someone had put out there cigarette in it. I'm giving it an extra star as the customer service was good. In the future I'll stick with the hotel coffee, sadly. read more

I've frequented Radina's at The Hill, Bakehouse, and campus for years. The menu rarely changes which I suppose is routine and predictable, but sometimes a seasonal coffee would be great to see to spice things up and draw more people in. Maybe I am just missing the times this happens. Breads and pastries, chocolates and treats are all very, very well made and taste wonderful. The coffee, though, tends to consistently taste burnt. Even the Americano. This is unfortunate because that burnt flavoring tends to take over the entire drink whether it's a latte or plain with milk/flavoring added. I can't say I will ever visit again for coffee, but I am hopeful this will be addressed as I have spoken with other locals who agree. The space is beautiful and perfect for a study spot or small meeting space, cozy and spacious. Staff is always so pleasant as well. read more

Very slow service, especially for a busy Saturday morning. Stood in line for over 20 minutes waiting for scone and the shop was half empty and most of the customers there were also waiting in line. The staff chatted among themselves and didn't seem to have any sense of urgency to get food or drinks out quickly. They didn't even apologize for the wait or thank us for the purchase. Very slow and rude staff. Disappointed because we actually really enjoy the place. read more

I really want to rate this place a 4 or a 5, but the astronomical amount of times my order (drink and food) has been messed up is mind boggling. The past seven (yes, seven!!)times I've been in, I've received the wrong drink, the wrong soup, and one time the completely wrong meal each time I've gone for lunch. Not a single time has gone flawlessly with my order since maybe the 2nd time I went long before these past 7 spread out over the past year and a half. The severs are nice people, but they will show no discrimination for flub-ups whether ordering inside or in the drive-thru. The food is actually pretty good when it lines up, which is what keeps maddeningly pulling me back to eat despite continued issues. The drinks are ok, but better coffee can be found at Arrow Coffee across town. I will probably be back, but I may have to make intense eye contact with the cashier and half them read my order to me 3 times. Haha! Hopefully this is no longer the case, but the consistency at which they mess up makes me believe it's a management training issue rather than a single employee(s) problem. Definitely worth checking out, but if you only have one chance to eat in Manhattan it might not be #1. read more

I love Radina's baked goods, but customer service needs work. The past two times I have gone in to stock up on bread- no service: flat out ignored. Today three ladies sat with me in line for bread, while 4 servers and 2 bakers just looked at us while servicing customers coming in the door. We asked the bakers for help, they ignored us and continued chit chatting. We asked the coffee servers, again just an annoying look. The patron with me made a comment to the cashier and got an eye roll......great bread isn't worth that. There are too many other choices: sad but true! read more

I would give Radinas a rave review if it weren't for the fact the barista picked up my to go cup along with 1-2 others by sticking her fingers down into all the cups to pick them up together! Doubt the Health Department would approve of that practice! Then when i asked for a clean cup and for her not to put her fingers inside the cup, she looked offended!!! Whoa sister! I live in Pennsylvania and visit this place when I am in town. They have the best bread I have ever tasted. The best part is it is so affordable. The coffee and pastries are great also. The only downside is the sandwich menu is not great and they run out of stuff quickly if you don't get their in the morning. read more

Sorry guys been here a few times and have always had a good experience... Except today. Three employees working but could not keep up. 4 hours left till close and their Case was near empty. Took over 10 minutes to place my order and there was only 4 girls ahead of me waiting to order Coffees. When I did get helped I couldn't order what I wanted (Toast Flights ) BC it would "take a while." Toast and Butter? Take a while??? So, We ordered a small coffee and a Med. WITH soy milk. Didn't get my soy milk and the guy didn't even charge me for it although he did acknowledge my request. When I asked about the Soy Milk I just got an apology (with no Fix)and then they just went back to work. Behind me was a line building up to the door so I didn't persist. The quality of the service is really random. For instance, I ordered a frozen drink at the drive thru on a hot summer day. The person ringing up my order double charged my card and spent no less than 10 minutes trying to fix it before they had to have the manager fix it. My frozen drink was no longer frozen. The workers need more training. Half the time the service is completely normal, half the time the workers just seem to mess things up. read more

My goodness. Me and some of my family decided to grab a quick coffee in the drive thru at around 5:30pm on a Friday. There is no line for the drive thru and we pull up to the ordering section. We sit and sit and no one is asking us what we would like to order. We start saying "hello?" in the microphone and no one answered. We thought maybe they were closed? So we drive to the other window in hopes that the workers are in there and we can just order from there instead. No one is in the drive thru window. We were so confused. When we completely make it back up to the front of the building again we see people walking out of the coffee shop with drinks in hand! So they weren't closed! We decide to give them a second chance and pull up to the drive thru again. Ugh so ridiculous. A boy finally takes our order and we meet him at the window. The whole thing was awkward. My mom and sister in law ordered a sugar free vanilla and sugar free caramel lattes. And I ordered an iced caramel latte with an add shot. After waiting for a long time the boy hands both of the hot drinks to my sister in law. She then asks him which one is which. He replies with "I don't know." He then suggests that he can look at them and see the difference. He opens both lattes, looks, and then says he still doesn't know which one is sugar free vanilla and which one is sugar free caramel. The whole situation made us feel so awkward and he wasn't very nice. We decide to just leave it be and take our drinks.. We taste the lattes and all three literally tasted like sugar milk. Horrible. My caramel latte didn't even taste like espresso was in it even with an add shot (or they probably forgot that too). We even told the boy that our drinks tasted like hot sugarish milk. And he just told us that he did put the flavor in there. Okay? Thanks? I guess? That was not helpful at all. First of all, be on top of drive thru and who is coming through. We literally thought the store was closed. That means you almost lost business. Second of all, if you can't remember which drink is which, offer to make new ones really fast. Always try to please the customer :) And third, when we tell you something is wrong with our drinks, be caring about it and ask how you can help. And change it with a great attitude and customer service. I was so very disappointed. And I will never be back at this coffee place again. Total waste of my money. Sorry, but it was just not a great experience at all. :( read more

I love(d) Radina's, it's close to work and I would always go there for a quick sandwich for lunch before heading back to the office. Their sandwiches had great bread and delicious fresh ingredients. Today, however things were different. I went in and ordered my usual, chicken pesto. The lady at the counter (she's almost always there when I come in) said they have turkey pesto today. I said that's fine, I'm not picky between turkey and chicken. When my sandwich came out though, I was so disappointed. My usual sandwich is on crispy soft baguette with fresh tomato and delicious fresh moz. This sandwich was sad looking, didn't even have a vegetable on it, just a small thing of sliced deli meat, some sliced cheese, and a little bit of pesto on some basic, bland bread. When I went up to the counter, the woman told me they changed their menu after I said that this sandwich was not what I ordered and not what I wanted. All she did was hand me their new lunch menu and walk away. Turns out they've removed all the best parts of their old menu, the fresh veggies and delicious breads and switched to basic, boring grocery store sandwiches. To add to it, my sandwich was supposed to come with a drink (which I was not told about) and I did not get a drink! As many other reviews have said, the customer service is horrible here, but at least the food was good. Now, not so much. If your customer orders a sandwich off the old menu, TELL THEM you changed the menu three days ago! It's basic sense! Disappointed and will not be back, go to Bluestem if you want good local lunch at a reasonable price. One star because I have to, and because at least they didn't get rid of the red pepper Gouda soup. read more

Love that they source locally and don't brew coffee older than 14 days! Just tried their pumpkin spice latte and it was one of the best I've had! I usually go through the drive thru and the girl that usually takes my order is always so nice and cheerful, it's always a great way to start your day! Coming from the coffee meca and having been fortunate enough to have traveled to many lands with excellent coffee house... this was had me bummed. First the young lady got my order wrong after repeating it twice. I paid in cash and seemed to have cause her an inconvenience by doing so since she had to stomp off to another register to get some rolls of coins. Upon her return she was aggressively tossing the change rolls into the drawer. I watched in complete and utter shock. She then made my drink correctly and thanked me and apologized for getting the order wrong. The order being wrong wasn't a big deal. It happens. But the attitude and hostility that my children and I had to witness was so completely unprofessional. I'll be back for a second chance at another date but this was insane. read more

It was a beautiful morning to walk to Radina's. First the area is beautiful, enjoy the lawn and fountains across the shop or cozy up in one of their soft sitting areas. The coffee is amazing and perfect every time and of course their bakery and bread. I would suggest going in the morning because by 2p, all the best choices are gone. This place is awesome. I've only been to Manhattan, KS twice, but this place is a must go. The pastries are spot on and the coffee is probably the best you'll find here. I'm also going to give a shoutout to the Grasshopper Mocha, even though I'm not a big mint fan. It's got that chocolatey-mint smoothness to it that's hard to describe. One star for unrealized potential, another for old times. Oh Radina's, you are frustrating. On my last visit to Manhattan I was so happy to find great bread I overlooked your flaws. This time, after a half dozen or so more experiences with you, my enthusiasm has waned. Yes, we have seen each other more than 12 times overall. At first your quirky operation was kinda cute. Unpredictable, but sincere. I must say though that by now it's worn a little thin. Morning or night, no bread? Seriously, that is not how a bakery is supposed to behave. If baking bread was an 9-5 job, I'd a done it myself. And can we talk about your coffee? There's this thing called the "third wave" out there. Gosh, it's even known in Topeka (PT Roasting). Get with it! Your "Royale" is not all that to tell the truth. Way too big, way too milky, and just kinda bland. Sorry, but if your friends don't tell you who will? Yes, I have come to expect your operation to be illogical and inconsistent, I can deal with that. It's not all that cute anymore, feeling inept when I try to order, but that's the price of dating a high strung coffee shop. But your menu? Really? It's so artistic it's nearly unreadable. When I go by I will still check in to see if by some sort of luck you'll have a baguette to sell me. And no, the little ciabattas are not the same. But I won't hope or expect anymore. I went with a couple friends and our drinks were pretty poor. Her latte was more milk than coffee and my chai was really watery. My other friend ordered an Italian soda which was incredibly plain and watered down as well. Wouldn't recommend it. read more

Very attractive new storefront over by the Hilton Garden Inn/ convention center, other newer chain hotels and the Flint Hills Discovery Center. Knowing this location has many visitors to town, it's a wonder that that Bakehouse is not open on Sundays as the other locations are? When I was there on Sunday at 10:30am, several people drove up and were equally puzzled. Perhaps this will come with time as they explore the hours for this new location? I got the chance to eat lunch at the new location on a weekday and had the prosciutto sandwich on their house-made baguette with fig spread. It was okay - the bread was very nice but it was a bit too sweet for me and not much meat on it. Also, it came with a side of pasta salad that was terrible. It's just colored bowtie pasta with some kind of dried red sauce on it - very uninspired and I took one bite and left the rest. The decor in this new location is dark, with deep blues and dark wood, but it's cozy with the booths. The service was a bit disjointed when I was there, but I think they're still working out the kinks with new staff here. I'll go back and try some other dishes as they do look tasty in that lit case. For Manhattan, this is a nice space to hang out in. read more

This place is fantastic, and exactly the type of thing that a place like Manhattan (a small town surrounded by a sea of nothingness) desperately needs. This place represents one of the very few times that my wife and I were able to try something new in Kansas and not be at least a little disappointed (basically just Radina's and The Chef). The bread is excellent. The sandwiches are delicious and creative. I have never had the issues with poor service that some others have commented upon (and that's great, because I'm fairly critical of poor service). Like all Radina's branches, nobody can make a dry cappuccino to save their lives, but I've come to expect that here. We have eaten there maybe 5 times since it opened and bought bread way more often than is healthy. read more
