I went in today to browse and all the employees I encountered were so friendly, thoughtful,…read moreproactive, and helpful. My friend and I were approached by three different employees during our time there. They asked if they could assist us with anything and gave some great recommendations. I was looking for a fantasy book for my teenage brother and the employee was incredibly helpful giving recommendations, finding the "teen book of the month." I didn't even know they had a teen book of the month! The organization of the store was great. The categories and book selections that were specially displayed were especially helpful. For example, in their AAPI stories section I was able to find some really interesting books that I might have not otherwise seen. A selection of their Barnes and Noble specialty book covers that feature some classic works (like Pride and Prejudice and Winnie the Pooh) were on sale for between $8-$12. For such a beautiful high quality book, I would definitely return to purchase one of those at that price. The other books though were a bit pricey. The employees there made this visit extra enjoyable. I don't go to Barnes and Noble very often, but yesterday's visit makes me want to return again soon.

As usual, I am surprised that I had not dropped a review for this bookstore, and I am here at least once a month, at the very least. Immense selection of books greeting cards, gifts, fiction, nonfiction everything is arranged and organized accordingly. I just love this bookstore. Great big parking lot that is free but it is shared among many businesses at the Long Beach town center. Great experience each time. Prices are fair (compared to Amazon?) at least you can actually pick up a book. Read it at the café and if you decide to buy it go for it if not, then just return it.

You could potentially get away from buying books and just open them up and read them there at the store. They have a large variety that I dare say it's at the same level as if you shopped online, they seem to also have "saucey" content in the mangas sections. They also have this... $40 Yearly Barnes and Nobles Subscription that knocks off 10% (20% at rare occasions within the year) for every purchase as well as a free cafe drink upgrade if the bookstore has a cafe (NOT A STARBUCKS, THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT STATBUCKS GIFT CARDS), and a free annual tote bag (you cannot double dip for a second bag until you renew it). Unless you're planning on spending $400+ for the next 12 months or you're a regular cafe go'er, I wouldn't say this is for you. The seating for the cafe is fine, but can fill up real easily with most customers that intend to stay more than an hour.

Similarly, when I went to checkout one hour later, I was quickly and warmly attended to. You read that right. One! Hour! There were a lot of people, but it honestly felt nice. The air buzzed with literary excitement. There were plenty of books for all tastes. I personally love literary fiction, and I was very excited to find Mark Salzman. I overheard other people gushing over their hidden gem finds, too. In the end, I got 8 books, 2 postcards, and 1 tote for less than $26. On a normal day, would I have left with all 8 books? No, but I definitely would have left with 4 of them for almost the same price. Great finds with great prices. Will definitely come back on a regular day, too.

There's a noticeable bias in how stories are reported -- especially on local politics -- and it feels more like an opinion blog than a legitimate news source. Instead of presenting balanced coverage, certain voices are elevated while others are ignored or unfairly portrayed. The reporting can also be inconsistent and sometimes lacks context, which makes it hard to fully trust what's being shared. I understand it's a small, volunteer-based publication, but if you're going to cover civic matters, journalistic standards matter. Disappointed to say this paper no longer feels like it represents the whole Fullerton community -- just a narrow slice of it.

They have a wide selection of used and collectible books -- from…read moreeverything (and I do mean everything) cinema to history, literature, biography, science fiction, and of course, their main specialty, magic. Since I love books, I appreciate their books on books, and they always manage to have some surprises tucked away, like gardening, philosophy, southern California history, and even travel. None of these are your standard issue books, but specially chosen, eclectic and fascinating titles. They also have posters, lobby cards, ephemera and a wide selection of classic and independent film DVDs. Great customer service, fair prices, and they are a fountain of knowledge on their subject areas. If I want to find something special for someone they always know just what to suggest. Do I sound like I'm gushing? Well, I just can't tell you what a pleasure it is to be in a place that still believes in providing a classic secondhand book store experience. Remember when there used to be great used book stores in every city? This is one of the last ones left! Make sure to call ahead, but it's worth it.
