I am in the process of growing my hair and preserving my curl pattern and communicated this ad nauseam and felt understood and heard. Acknowledging that I switched up a bit during the process, the team quickly pivoted. The owner stepped in to rewash my hair, another stepped in for a trim and Jammie pressed my hair TO THE GODS! The silk press: This was the silkiest and most bone straight silk press I've ever gotten. My hair was shiny, smelled great, and was super light and airy. I generally struggle to keep a silk press more than a week, this silk press lasted a full month. I was quite weary over time that my hair would not revert back. It was just too straight! Got my silk press on 11/7 and washed my hair on 12/8 and my curls immediately reverted back with minimal heat damage! I will definitely be returning again and of course encourage folks to be wary with any heat services but would recommend Sew!

As a business owner I think taking constructive criticism is vital and normal for the business to improve and not for the owner to bash a client who chooses to write a negative review on yelp for their service that they were not happy with. I also feel it's unprofessional to throw the race card in and say that it's truly sad what my black people do. Shawanda if I were not black and was another race you would have not made this statement. This has nothing to do with race, tearing each other down, or exploiting the business on yelp, it has something to do with the quality of service that I received that was it nothing personal or deep about it. I think my review was pretty fair, mild, and honest and I should be able to write if I received poor service without underlying tone in responses back from the owner. So should anyone else. Shawanda I hope you reconsider carefully how you respond to negative reviews about your establishment. It's only for improvement. I tried to contact the salon via email with the same pictures I have on yelp of my burnt hair way before I wrote the review but no one ever responded.

I went back for an adjustment (they give you 30 minutes for a free adjustment if you ask within 2 weeks of your original appointment) and the stylist saw the issue but basically told me that there was not enough time to actually fix the problem. Instead she made some other adjustments to distract from the issue. As my hair is growing, I'm seeing the poorly graded front layers coming further and further into stark relief. I'm working my best to style around this, but I will not be going back and definitely do not think the cut was worth the price I paid. I'll have to pay another $200 to someone else sooner rather than later. My 3 stars is due to good communication from the establishment, and that the rest of the hair cut was well done - except..... the front....... the part you want to be at its best..... I was freaked out and embarrassed, but too broke to entertain going to get it fixed. Then I remembered I had a sizable Groupon credit! Hooray! Well I bought, then canceled, 2 other salon's deals before this, after calling to make an appointment and both times having really bad service. Not a good sign! So I was really nervous about going here after all that. But as soon as I met my stylist, Jenny, I knew I was in good hands! She was so sweet; totally didn't judge me for my horrible chop job which I absolutely appreciated. The salon was beautiful, clean and everyone very friendly. And now, I absolutely LOVE MY HAIR! Jenny is a miracle worker between the cut to work with/fix my ill-attempted "layering" cut I'd given myself and the stunningly gorgeous highlights she created. I absolutely adored my Russian mani and Russian (smart) pedi!! The attention to detail was certainly unmatched and my nails and toes were perfect. My feet were the softest they have ever been after a pedicure, and the device they used to shave the dead skin was so gentle that I was not uncomfortable or ticklish at all. The bathroom was also super cute, luxurious and most importantly, clean! There were just two big things that I was not totally satisfied with. I love French on my toes, but they didn't have the greatest selection of base or natural colors to complement my skin tone for the pedicure. The saloon has their own brand of gel, so the range was not there. I ended up with a color that was too light for my complexion, but it was the best option for me at the time. They do help you choose the colors you want, and have a great eye for color matching if you have a picture. I believe it was more about accessibility to the right colors. The second issue was my manicure and pedicure did not last as long as I would have liked. The pedicure started to peel from the cuticle after the first week. I have been getting gel, French pedicures for years and I've been able to make them stretch for at least 4 weeks, so I don't think it was an issue of my personal maintenance. My nails lasted about 2 weeks before they started to experience the same issue. I was so sad, because I truly loved my experience at this saloon, but for the price, I can't justify my services not lasting at least 3 weeks. I would still recommend this place just to try. This was a one time experience for me, and I would be willing to go back again, but I wanted to shop around other saloons first.
