Went for the 1st and last time. It was bogo pizza. Nothing about this was good. It took forever, after they told us we had 25 mins to eat and it took them about the same time as they gave us. Another two we were with that ordered right b4 us were finished b4 we got ours. Probably the thickest pizza I never wanted. You know how leftover pizza is good, this wasn't that. I've eaten at Rafael's in other locations and have been pleased. Though usually I order pizza and that goes over well. Their pizza is always good. At this particular location, I tried other items. Specifically, the Greek salad which was okay. But just okay. Everything else was simply not very good. It was not hot. It was somewhat warm to cold which I found odd since there was nobody else in the place when we were there. Seems like they had plenty of time to make sure my food was hot. Maybe I expect more when paying these prices but I would have rather eaten almost anywhere else. The service was friendly and that's the only reason for the stars. read more

If they improved the looks of the place, they would surely get much more foot traffic. The appearance absolutely does not represent the food quality. About a year ago, their food was alright, but it seems they got their stuff together, and oh my! Their food tastes gourmet! about 20 minutes to get the food, but it's worth every second. Hmmm, where to start? I had pretty decent expectations of this place, but was sorely disappointed. Don't expect to come here and get real Italian. I ordered fettuccini Alfredo. Nothing but sauce and noodles, right? So, the sauce tasted like something out of a can. All served up on styrofoam plates and plastic dinnerware. No dishwashing for these guys! It is just generally a pretty poor excuse for Italian. No waiters or waitresses. Just counter service. The counter help was nice and that's the only reason for the 2 star rating. When I was hand gliding, the instructor suggested I check out Rafael's since it was close by, has variety of food, and has casual atmosphere. When looking on Yelp, I noticed that it is an Italian fast food style chain restaurant in North Georgia and Chattanooga. The cashiers are up front. You pay and order. They call your number when your food is ready. I just got Chicken Garden Salad with no olives, tomatoes, and cheese. I love onion rings so I added that. Onion rings came out quickly. I went to pick it up and they are huge and fell apart easily. Dipping sauce is salsa, which I found weird but it was tasty. Onion rings were just A-okay. When salad came out, I was disappointed with the presentation. I didn't like the fact also that the red onions were not cut off smaller. Oh yeah, the green bell peppers were huge too. The chicken was not that flavorful. The lettuce is basically just regular iceberg lettuce. Blah. My favorite dressing is honey mustard. It was was not homemade and packaged. Just blah. Maybe I have to order something else different in the future? I mean, they have great customer service, really friendly staff. It's a huge restaurant with plenty of tables and chairs. It was packed. Dropped in after a morning hike in Cloudland, and what a delight. We had the vegi lasagna and the steak and cheese calzone. Subtle flavors to the lasagna were wonderful to taste, and the calzone looked as good as I've seen in any college town. It's casual Italian, but boy is it good! read more

After a long hike at Cloudland canyon my mom and I hit up this place. We were starving and anything would have been good at this point, but the aroma outside the restaurant really had our hopes up. The food was decent either Mexican or Italian I got a salad which was good and eggplant Parmesan which was really greasy. Mom got a calzone which was pretty tasty, wish I had ordered that instead. My husbands food came out 30 mins before mine and all I ordered was a salad. My husband had to ask for dressing for my salad in which the young girl at the counter argued they already put dressing on the salad and they had not. I usually get the chicken souvlaki and it's really good. I also like the chicken stir- fry. It's even better than most of the stir-frys at local chinese places and it's enough for two people. Their calzones are pretty good too but honestly, if you like that kind of thing and you are in Trenton, a strombolli from Randy's is the better choice. read more

I'm a pretty big fan of Rafael's, but it might be because it's one of only 4 restaurants in tiny Trenton. They have great calzones, great pizza (always buy one get one free), and they make a good house salad. If you're looking for something sweet, the Reese's pie is so ridiculously good. read more

This was a real good place to eat. Decent food, and good variety. Very clean and friendly. It is cafeteria style, you order when you come in, then they call your number. Simple tables to eat at. Rafael's Trenton is the best of the three I'm familiar. Had the chicken Parmesan it was not bad. Naturally you're not going to get a meal as well as the North End of Boston. But for southern style spaghetti with chicken tenders fried up hard and thrown in the broiler to melt the cheese. It wasn't bad at all. Had the same in Ringgold, last year and it was just terrible. All in all not bad place to eat. Go off hours and I believe you'll like it much better. read more

This was a great little place for us while camping at Cloudland Canyon! Two adults and two kids and we all left with full bellies. Lasagna was delicious, chicken parm was great. Meatball sub was okay, just a lot of peppers in there. My only complaint was the garlic toast was completely saturated with butter and we couldn't eat it. I went in recently with a group of 5 people. We went up to pick up our order when our number was called. My son asked for 4 packets of honey mustard. The child running the cash register handed him 2 and said that is all you can have. I spoke up and asked why he couldn't get 4 since we had 5 guests and 4 requested honey mustard. This child was fairly rude to me and said "it says in the menu limit of 2". I told him that meant 2 per order and I had 5 people with 5 orders. He said "no it says limit of 2" so I said if I bring in 30 people then I only get 2. He said now you understand. I had to purchase the additional 2 condiments. Before this incident I was a weekly customer. I have had other issues that I overlooked, but after dealing with rude unsupervised children running the place I decided I wont return. I use to like coming here. The food was decent and everyone here was nice. Not sure what has changed? The food quality has gone down hill a bit also. I ask if I could substitute fries that came with my meal, for something else and was told I could and even given the run down of what I could have. I ask for the mushrooms and was told there would be an up charge if I got them. So I paid the up charge. They got my order together and I noticed they did give me any sauce for them, and when I ask they were very rude and said I would have to pay extra for that also. .35 cent isn't a lot, but when I paid the up charge for the item I would have thought they would have included it. I did without because I only had debit card to pay and thought it would be crazy to charge .35 cents on it. I was a very frequent customer here (sometimes twice a week) and it will probably be awhile before I come back. read more
