Our family had the most amazing experience at Raft One today! We did the zip line tour and our guides, Aiden and Gage were amazing! They walked us through everything and were so patient with us (me) when I wanted to chicken out. Our group (ages 8 to 50+) had so much fun and were able to get through the course with no worries. Our original trip was cancelled due to bad storms but the staff were very accommodating to get us in before we left Blue Ridge. I highly recommend Raft One and if you have the option go with Aiden and Gage! They also take tons of pictures and give you the option to purchase them at the end for a very reasonable fee. My boyfriend and I booked with Raft One this past weekend. We have no rafting experience and we did the full river trip. When we arrived at their location I was impressed by their nice facilities. We felt welcomed and everything was prepared ahead of time. It was easy to book with them because their website was so user friendly which is a major plus for me. Our river guide was so good and very knowledgeable about the river. Half way into the trip they stop and serve sandwiches. It really hit the spot. Our guide recommended that people stay in Blue Ridge and rent a cabin if they have a group because there is so much to do in blue ridge that no one would be bored. We will take this advice next time. This time we had stayed in Cleveland TN because it was the closest to their location, but we did not enjoy staying there (read my review of the motel). Have you ever been so stressed out from work that you find it hard to relax? Looking for something that will wipe that stress away? White-water rafting on the Ocoee River will do the trick! And there's no outfitter better than Raft One. This was my first visit. I can't rate the check-in experience, because I was a part of a group and chose to leave Atlanta very very late in the evening (2 hr drive). That meant that I would arrive at the campsite around the midnight hour. I was concerned about being able to find the campsite. That was a little challenging and I turned off into a competitors site by accident. I had to go up and down the road apiece before I found the turn-off for their site. It's very hard to see where to turn off the road at night. I hope that they would consider adding some sort of a reflective indicator because they do have campsites on the premises and I'm sure I'm not the only person that might have to arrive late at night. Once I found the turn-off, I had no problem locating my spot for the night. My organization chose to use the bunkhouse. The bunkhouse is an A-framed cabin with a beautiful blond wood interior and 40 box 10 to a room. It features a microwave and refrigerator, two bathrooms, a great room with two picnic tables inside, and a wraparound balcony with several picnic tables and a grill that burns propane. I did not see the grill work but heard that there was no propane left. If you plan on using the grill, make sure you ask about the propane supply. There's also a fire ring for a nice roaring fire. There is a parking area nearby, but you should be prepared to climb a lot of stairs to get from the parking area to the entrance of the bunkhouse. I'm glad I chose to use my backpack, because I only had to make one trip up with everything that I needed. There are sites where you can pitch a tent as well as some cabin-like quarters. I did not see the cabin-like quarters close-up, so for better description, you need to contact Raft One. Morning came, and it was time to go down to the office and gift shop to sign the waivers and listen to the safety instructions. Then, helmets lifejackets and paddles were distributed. We loaded onto the buses with the rafts strapped on top and went down to the put-in site on the Ocoee. Upon arrival, it was explained to us that one raft would be reserved for people who were apprehensive about their adventure. Another raft would be reserved for what I like to lovingly refer to as the Psychos, who want to be tossed into the river. This is done under carefully supervised conditions, mind you. Another raft was reserved for those persons who were interested in an exciting ride but were not looking to be tossed out of the raft. I thought carefully about my physical condition and how I might respond, in case of an emergency and chose to go with the moderate route. The next time, I might go for the Psycho group! I strongly recommend that you listen to your guides, consider your physical capabilities, your ability to swim and float, and use that information to ride your own ride. You don't have to share the same boat with your travel partner, as your travel partner might want to have an experience that you are not prepared for. Choose your own ride. After a review of the safety instructions, a check of your equipment and a practice with the commands that will be used, you pushoff into the river. The guides make the trip! They make you feel extremely comfortable right away and encourage you to let them know if you have any concerns, health risks or hesitations. They crack you up all the way down the river. Parrot was our guide. Not only was he fun to be with, but he taught me so much about the whole river system including some ecological information. The other guides were friendly, and helpful too. The Ocoee River near Ducktown Tennessee was an Olympic white water site. This river had to be gussied up and tweaked in order for to meet the Olympic committee requirements. The river powers four powerhouses and the damn releases the water from a reservoir on a set schedule. The Whitewater companies that utilize the river coordinate their trips with the water release. In the afternoon the water is shut off and the water returns to the reservoir. What you have left is an amazing look at the dry riverbed and you are able to get a clear picture of how man, engineering, and mother nature can come together to create a unique site. You can do the upper and middle River basin, the lower River basin or make a day of it and do both! We did both and it made for a day that started at 9:30 AM on the river and ended at about 3:00 PM. The coolest part is the middle River basin where the rapids were tweaked for the Olympic course. That was a blast! If you are of an inquisitive nature, stay until 4 PM, so that you can look back out at the riverbed to see what this river looks like Monday through Friday. The Ocoee Olympic visitor center is the place for the best view. It was awesome! read more

I would highly recommend the rafting, it is an amazing experience for everyone, the guides are extremely friendly, safe and accomodating to the group's wish in terms of risk of capsizing. The mountain biking offered is poor. Out of 10 bikes offered 8 were not in working order including lose wheel axles (meaning wheels could fall off at any point), non working gears and lose stems causing handlebar rotation. We requested staff fix the bikes and they did not have the skill base to do this. Thankfully a member of our group was able to do this but this used an hour of our allotted time. We were then handed a map and told to guide ourselves even though the website states a guide would be provided. We requested a spare inner tube, bike pump and a couple of tools in case of any issues on the ride and were told they did not have any, this meant that if any point in our ride we encountered issues we would have been stranded. read more

There are so many choices for rafting and zip lining and it all depends on the guide(s) you get on that particular day. I chose Raft 1 and am glad I did. Zip line guides Zach and Dusty were the perfect combination of funny and calm. Will, our rafting guide, was obviously experienced and made the trip a great time. I really liked the rafting side trip/hike...it was a nice break to stretch my legs and see a stream, that feeds the river, with amazing rock formations. If you are nervous...do not be. Just tell your guide you are "nervous" and they will accommodate. If you want danger and thrills (feel like swimming) tell you guide and he will put you in the water. read more

This is by far the best rafting company on the Ocoee river. The staff was extremely funny, informative, and cautious. They made you feel comfortable the entire way down the river while informing us of our surroundings and performing fun tricks. They even made a waterslide out of a raft, majorly setting them apart from other companies. We got out of the raft to swim and even had a scenic ride back to the store. Overall a fantastic trip. White Water Rafting has been an item on my bucket list for some time now, and I'm beyond stoked to have chosen Raft One to guide me through my initial experience. Our guide, Chris, did an amazing job of keeping things light-hearted, threw in some historical tidbits that I, as a nerd, found super interesting, and did all he could to give us the ride of our lives. When we started our journey down the river, he asked how extreme we wanted our rafting trip to be. We replied with resounding encouragement, and he definitely delivered. It was awesome. In addition, I told Chris that if I had a choice, I'd prefer to not got tossed from the raft (it felt as wimpy as it sounds) as I had recently had a tiny surgery and was technically still not allowed to get fully submerged in river water. He accommodated perfectly, ensured that I stayed safe, and still made sure I got adequately splashed to a safe level whilst floating down the river. We encountered some other rafting companies on our way down, and the expressions of the other boats' patrons made me even more grateful that we chose Raft One. Our guides were adventurous, hilarious, and knowledgeable, and all Raft One customers were constantly smiling from ear to ear. Raft One's employees made us feel like we had been welcomed into part of their huge, light-spirited rafting family, and they were amazing with the kids that we saw floating down in other groups. Equipment was clean and safe. Raft guides were stellar. Customer service was fantastic. Really cannot say enough positive things about these guys (and gals). Give them a try. Glad we did because we drove in from vacationing in Gatlinburg and road construction slowed us down a little. We arrived about 10 minutes before our trip time, and they were very nice and cool. Raft one is awesome! I come every year for Father's Day with my two sons and a group of other dads and their sons. This year was the best so far! Our guide, Luke, who guided the dad boat was excellent. He knowledge of the river put us in the right place at the right time. It was a blast! Brent guided the kids boat. Judging by their reactions on the river, Brent was giving them a great trip! They loved it. He gave the boys exactly the trip they were hoping for. Super time with Raft1. We celebrated Father's Day on the river this year. A friend had recommended Raft One. I am so glad she did. They were by far the best company around. Luke, our tour guide (AKA we called him Leo as he looks like the actor, Leo!) was wonderful. He was so knowledgable about the river- ever rock, the history, the water levels, the fun areas to swim, slide or ski the rapids. He took us off the beaten path and let us hike at an area that was appropriate. It was very pretty and fun to take a break from the river. We didn't see any other company doing any of these "extra" things that our Leo/Luke did w/ us. He was patient as I was a bit more timid then my husband and kids but made it fun and safe for all of us. I highly recommend this company over the others and would request Luke if you can get him as he surely is the best in their company and I would probably say the best and most well respected among his peers on the river and within their community of tour leaders. We took the 10:00 am tour which worked out great for us as we had plenty of time on the river and then still had a good part of our day left. We took advantage of showering after the river so bring a change of clothes and little shampoos and towels. We felt so refreshed after this. I also did appreciate that at no extra charge they offered wet suits. This allowed me to stay warm from the chill of the water and have extra sun coverage too so I appreciated that. I also think that Raft One is one of the more economical outfitters out there. Kudos to Luke and Raft One and thanks for making this Father's Day according to my husband, "The Best Father's Day Ever!!" We suggest if you have time after the rafting trip to go to Blue Ridge and walk around and have some lunch and drinks. What a great day... :) read more

We went with One Raft for our white water experience in the Blue Ridge mountain area. We loved One Raft! We originally had a reservation with another company and we switched to One Raft at the last minute. They were still able to accommodate our group of 6. The instructors were amazing. They have large bathrooms with showers and they were very clean! We had two people who couldn't swim and they felt very safe. The staff went over the instructions on what to do in different situations in the raft. Blake was our guide and he was awesome!!! He answered all of our questions and made the experience really fun! We didn't take our phones but the photos they took came out great! They took a lot of photos and we were able to pay for all of them for one low price! Choose one Raft!!! read more

Raft One is fantastic! I camped out at the outpost with a group of friends this past weekend, and we took two trips on the Ocoee. The owners are very personable and seem to really cater to each group. We had two fun-filled days playing on the river, with wild rides through the rapids, wave surfing, and raft slides. Each of our guides had a lot of experience on the river, and I felt very safe in their hands. Oh and the outpost is a great setup because there's a big bunkhouse, plenty of camping area, a volleyball court, a picnic area, and a clean bathhouse (and did i mention friendly people?). My family and I were in Blue Ridge on vacation when we decided we wanted to go on a zip line tour. Called and checked a few places and being before Memorial Day most did not have tours that day. Called these guys and they said "no problem " they actually gave us a tour even though they too weren't really open that day for zip lining that day either. Just completed a full day trip with 11 family members. My husband and I were on separate rafts (by choice) and throughout the float, we kept worrying that the other raft wasn't having as much fun as our own. Now we are sharing stories (competing) to prove whose raft guide was best. Having rafted with other companies a number of times in the past, we have decided RAFT ONE is the best out there. My son and I were excited about our first time rafting but had no idea it would be this good! Adam was our guide. He was confident and experienced so you knew you were in good hands, but he was also fun and had stories about the river and the different rapids. He didn't just take us down the river, we stopped and saw interesting things, and even rescued a kayaker who flipped her boat. Took the family up for the weekend. Did the zip line canopy tour and the full (upper and middle) river raft trip. George led us on the zip line tours were they have a great course with supper views. The next day we rafted the Ocoee with a guide named "Wildcat". Half way down the river Wildcat and some of the other Raft1 guides turned a raft upside down and created a slide this was a really nice touch that added to the overall experience. We had a great time rafting the middle Ocoee with Raft One. We went the first weekend of October and unfortunately the leaves had not changed yet, but it was still a pretty ride. Never having gone rafting before, I was really nervous about falling out and I was expecting the whole ride to be class 3 & 4 the entire way down the river. We never tipped over, no one fell out and there were moments of down time mixed with moments of excitement. After awhile I was hoping to run across more class 4 as they were fun. My husband rode the bull and we got some great pics for $35 at the end of our trip. Our rafting guide Matt was great and I think that he made the trip enjoyable. I heard the other group talk about tipping and we didn't have much cash so we gave what we had. I have no clue what the standard is, but I read on another site $5pp which seems a little low. Overall, great company to raft with and we had an enjoyable experience. read more
