They've carefully curating a wide variety of stories, accumulated so many sweet little goodies & knick knacks, & built a wonderful, irreplaceable community in Providence. They put a LOT of effort into highlighting BIPOC & queer authors in their collection. The range of genres & narratives - especially considering the tiny size of the store - is a masterclass in diverse inventory. The very best thing about Heartleaf, though, is the manager. She alone is worth a visit to the store. If she's napping, it's a cardinal sin to disturb her. You'll just have to come back another time to give her a scratch behind the ears. (Penny is the manager. No one apologized yet did acknowledge that there had been an issue with the sweater smelling and some returned due to that issue. Noone saying "I'm sorry we sent you a horribly smelling sweater".... Just sent a return label so sweater could be returned. I returned sweater. Saw that a week ago it came back on the website with a preorder date of 1/5/25. I placed the preorder with hopes that the sweater would be of better quality and not the horrible smell of the last sweater. Two days later I receive a email stating the sweater had shipped. How could this sweater ship if the preorder date was 1/5/25 and this is 12/14/24. Received sweater today and it was the same stinky, stretched out neckline sweater order months previously that I returned. Not only do I have to run around again and return this sweater to the post office but what company sends out the same sweater that was returned due to complaints that it was damaged and stunk. A $148 dollar sweater, that was smelly...sent out again!!! I am beyond aggravated with the company and the lack of integrity of their products. If you knew the sweater was returned due to defects and smell why not damage it out....not try to sell it again. I will not be purchasing from this company again. Their customer service stinks and obviously do not care about good customer service. Unbelievable!

I thought the price of a tux rental would be outrageous but it was actually less costly than buying my sons a pair of appropriate dress slacks and a shirt for the occasion, especially considering that they'd probably just outgrow those before wearing them again. Great service, great selection, and great price! My only regret is that I irresponsibly took months to write this review. The shop owner deserved better for all that she did for us! I reached out on Instagram and received a super quick response and apology! I just made an exchange today at the Farmer's Market and the customer support was excellent. It was really important for me to find my dress while I was at home so I could get the sign off from mom, and at the last minute my future in-laws were also coming to town and we wanted to show my future mother in law. Not only was my bridal consultant super patient during my first appointment- I never felt rushed or pressured, but Linda and my consultant were extremely accommodating. They had no problem when we came back a second time, minute before closing to show my future mother in law the front runner and even opened early so that we could come back to buy the dress before I flew home. We went to a couple of other shops just so that we didn't feel like we were "settling" but we kept coming back to the dress, and did not experience the same level of customer service any where else. I had easy experiences with the alterations and could not have been happier with my dress. I felt like Linda communicated with me through out the process and helped to make it seamless and stress free. This place is small and cozy and there are definitely a lot of options for every budget, highly recommended.
