    Nutella Cruffin
    John S.

Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters makes a strong case for being one of Ventura County's most reliable specialty coffee stops, balancing technical precision with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The café itself strikes an industrial-chic chord: concrete floors, simple black seating, string lights, and a retail wall stacked with bags of beans and branded sweatshirts. It feels curated yet approachable, a space designed equally for a lingering laptop session or a quick grab-and-go. Ample seating extends indoors and outdoors, and the music keeps energy high without crowding the room. On the drink front, execution is impressive. My custom caramel bourbon latte--finished with full dairy and whipped cream--arrived at an ideal drinking temperature, neither scalding nor tepid. The grind and extraction showed balance, producing a smooth body that carried the sweetness of the syrup without tipping into cloying territory. Each sip finished with depth and warmth, a sign of careful calibration behind the bar. Pastries hold their own beside the coffee program. The Nutella cruffin, a croissant reimagined in muffin form, was particularly satisfying. Layers of laminated dough shattered delicately yet held structure, while the Nutella core provided a well of rich chocolate-hazelnut flavor all the way through the center. Importantly, it wasn't dry--each bite maintained a balance of flaky texture and moist crumb. A pastry worth a repeat visit. Service matched the product: warm greetings, efficient order taking, and timely delivery. Even with a steady flow of customers, the baristas kept pace without sacrificing friendliness. If there's a note to refine, it's that the café leans more utilitarian than cozy; metal chairs and the hard surfaces don't invite marathon stays. Still, for a café focused on the craft of coffee, the trade-off feels minor. Bottom line: Ragamuffin is for those who care about both precision and pleasure in their cup. Pair a specialty latte with the Nutella cruffin, and you'll leave fully satisfied

Used to be my favorite coffee place in Ventura county but their prices have gotten out of hand. $5 for an espresso. $10 for a matcha? What is going on? Started going to Makenna. They also have La Marzocco and Mahlkoenig setup as well as their own beans and are half the price on almost anything. Plus their ambiance is much nicer. Only go here for beans now as their are still the best. Service is good usually!

    $6 for a milk drink.

This was my first time ever trying Ragamuffin even though I live right by the one in The Collection in Oxnard. I happened to be driving through Camarillo and decided to go a bit further just to check out this location. All the staff was friendly and the feel of the place is very trendy and edgy. The music was a bit loud similar to some Starbucks locations. All the Baristas appear to be college-aged. There was an older gentlemen on the back kitchen area that looked like he was preparing food and to be honest I didn't get a great look at what he was making; I could just see from a distance he was behind a window. I had looked online and saw they had an espresso whole bean coffee I was interested in buying. And I love that they provide the roasted date on their beans. The reason why they only get a 3 star is my drink plain sucked. "Plain" is the best description for my drink. I had ordered a Chai Bliss Latte with almond milk instead of cream. It was awful. I honestly think the barista completely omitted the chai. There was not a hint of chai in my drink at all. All I tasted was the almond milk. It was extremely disappointing and I was even more upset that it was priced at $6 for hot milk. I hope the beans are good but so far this place did not impress.

Tried and true local spot. Staff is always friendly and the drinks come strong, flavorful and have always been made correctly. I especially like the breakfast burrito - super filling and they'll even cut in half and wrap separately to make it easy to share. The bagel and ham and cheese frittata are also great options. Parking can be a little tricky given this location is in a Trader Joe's parking lot, but I've never not been able to find something. To avoid wait, they have a great app to order ahead.

the drinks looked pretty good but my acai bowl was underwhelming cute spot service is pretty solid acid bowl needs more acai.

I really love how this coffee place has a lot of parking. It's a bit small, but it's a great spot to come study. There are a few outlets, but overall, I feel like this place is more of a coffee and chat spot. I ordered the Matcha latte with honey, and it was definitely very good and not powdery at all. They also have outdoor seating, which is perfect if you want to bring your dog along.

Cute little coffee place in a strip mall with excellent coffee and pastries. The staff was really friendly and it's a great place to hang out and work.

I enjoy the coffee, tea, and service here. My friend and I always meet here for a cup of something and sit outside and people watch. Great spot for coffee. Little overpriced but what coffee shop isn't these days!

    $6.10 for 6 oz cappuccino

$6.10 for 6oz of cappuccino. It also took 20 min to make, because they "lost" my order. Very cute place. Expensive. Sad-looking, unmotivated / joyless employees. Great scones. Delicious coffee. Lots of people with dogs and children. Trader Joe's is next door (for restrooms, cuz there is none at the coffee shop).

Their coffee is on the more expensive side but all of their drinks are sooo good! Also, I love that they serve gluten free pastries.

This is one of my favorite go-to coffee shops in the area. I enjoy their hot lattes. I usually get the chai latte or the vanilla latte.

    I there WiFi/good for work?

Solid and secure connection (encrypted, password protected, etc....). Used it many times and always found the connection reliable and steady without timeouts and loss of data. Recommended as a good connection for working at a coffee shop.

This seriously addicting coffee shop, which started in Santa Barbara, has been a Ventura favorite for quite some time now, and it's been so fun watching them grow. Nestled in a charming converted cottage, this cozy café is the perfect addition to Downtown Ventura. When I stopped by over the weekend, they were insanely busy so I wasn't able to capture much of the space itself for photos but I can promise you it's a cute spot. We opted for outside table dining and it was lovely. To order you stand in line and then order at the counter, they'll bring the food back to your table, but they will call you up to grab your drinks. We ordered a couple of iced lattes and their famous Bella Rose - iced matcha, which was absolutely gorgeous and just as delicious. 10/10. Their drinks are truly little works of art and always worth ordering. To finish off brunch, we grabbed a couple of bagels. One of my favorites is their toasted bagel with tomato, avocado, and cream cheese, it's simple and so satisfying. Next time I'll be trying one of their fruit bowls. The staff here are absolute rockstars. They crank out drink after drink with a smile on their faces while keeping the atmosphere welcoming and fun. We always love stopping by, and if you haven't been yet, consider this your sign to check them out and support a fantastic local business.
