    Iced vanilla latte
    Anna K.

Stumbled on Calioh Coffee while we were in the plaza after having lunch and so glad we stopped in. The staff was really friendly and both drinks were so good. I got the iced vanilla latte and my husband got the iced horchata latte, and we both really liked them. It's in a plaza with free parking which is always nice, and they also have an outside seating area. Baby/stroller friendly too, which I always appreciate. Definitely a spot we'll come back to.

Stopped by randomly and loved the relaxing vibes. There's plenty of seating and some tables outside. Located in the quiet area of Moorpark in a shopping center, this is def a coffee shop to get work done with no distractions and with plenty of parking. They carry Guatemalan coffee and two unique house made syrups including the Adelita and Santa Ana. The Adelita is cinnamon based while the Santa Ana is rosemary based. I got the Adelita and really enjoyed it but I do want to come back to try the Santa Ana since it sounds so unique and I like rosemary so rosemary in coffee? Sounds really interesting. We did get a little turned off when we saw gnat by one of the pastries. Probably won't get one of their pastries plus they didn't look that fresh anyways.

Update Jan 2026: I think this might be my favorite place in the area for a coffee and gluten free pastry. I just stopped in before work and ordered the horchata latte and the pear, cranberry, almond muffin and both are so good. The muffin is wheat free, so I would recommend asking for a more severe allergy. They make all their pastries in house each day. The environment is also super kind and welcoming.

One of my favorite coffee spots in Ventura County! Genuinely the BEST cold brew and the baristas always put the perfect "splash" of cream. The pastry case is always packed with a wide selection of treats. The blueberry lemon scone was divine! Baristas are always welcoming and acknowledge you when you come in, even if there's a line. I usually grab a bag of coffee for home too - big flavor and never disappoints. Great location for a coffee date and plenty of parking right outside.

This is definitely a specialty coffee shop. I feel like the quality and vibes are there and I just ordered the wrong thing (the Earlito). After I took my first sip I knew it tasted like something familiar then I realized it tasted like cereal milk. And after that I couldn't get that out of my head and it just kept tasting like that LOL. I'm not sure if it was bc it was more sweet than matcha-ey but yeah that was a bummer. Unfortunately I am a matcha snob so maybe take my review on the matcha w a grain of salt lol. I think the coffee was good though!! So def try the coffee!

There's a large plaza parking lot to get here. The cafe is tucked into the corner of the plaza. It's really cute and cozy inside. There's a good amount of seating indoors. It can be a great place to quietly study. The staff are nice. I got the strawberry matcha. This was interesting since it uses a strawberry syrup instead of the usual strawberry pieces. You do get almost the same result but doesn't reach the levels of other places. The flavor was good and not diluted for an iced drink.

This is not your typical Starbucks. Their coffee is much better! Calio Coffee is known to source premium coffee from around the world and roast their beans to perfection. I've only learned about Calio Coffee because I was looking to purchase whole coffee beans and came across their roastery in Camarillo, and later learned their Cafe was in Moorpark. I ordered the Adelita Latte and Matt's Way Bagel. I loved the Adelita, a Mexican inspired coffee, that had the perfect balance of cinnamon, clove, and star anise. The bagel may have simple ingredients, but it was really tasty with the everything bagel!! I'd definitely come back to try the other signature drinks. Prices seem reasonable. Staff is friendly, and cafe appeared clean and well kept!

While waiting for a friend I stopped in here for a small coffee. First time here and the service was quick yet very nice and it had a very quant atmosphere. The coffee here is very good (I had a mocha) and worth the stop.

I ordered a matcha latte, strawberries & cream cookie, and white chocolate cranberry horchata scone. It was busy inside with a short line, but it moved quickly. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The matcha latte was earthy and unsweetened (you can get it sweetened or unsweetened). The strawberries & cream cookie is a decent size and phenomenal. It's sweet with the strawberries but not overly sweet- I would come back for this. The white chocolate cranberry horchata scone is crisp on the outside and crumbles like a scone should. Visiting from LA on Easter Sunday we had limited options for coffee. We were lucky to come across Calioh Coffee. We walked in to an amazing atmosphere. The ladies were nice in greeting us and offering some suggestions to their menu options. The food and coffee came out quick but the quality was next level. A delicious avocado toast and bagel accompanied by Adelita's Coffee! Safe to say our limited selection brought us to such an amazing coffee shop. Thank you ladies for the experience, we will be back soon!

Much to my surprise, it was about as lively as I had remembered it. The Alley was established during Covid times and offered a retreat to escape from the humdrum of the homestead. These days, its friendly vibe welcomes neighbors and visitors with a backyard setting strewn with twinkle lights and family-style tables. It's a causal scene and easy to soak in the live music, sunlight/moonlight, and neighborly banter. The layout resembles an alley with shops on either side, big open doors invite you to grab something to eat, sample a drink, or shop for handmade gifts. On one side, you've got craft brews and coffee roasters. On the other side, it's local wines and piping hot pizzas. Dogs are welcome all around. At the center of it all, there's live music on the weekends. Modeled after a Beer & Wine Garden concept, The Alley features Enegren Brewery (beer), Lucas Sellers (wine), California Coffee Republic (java), Fire & Vice (pizza), and The Craft House (non-alcoholic tchotchkes). As a self-proclaimed wino, I opted for a sampling of the Lucas Sellers Wines. Ashley, who was behind the bar and top of the pours, gave me good suggestions and offered anecdotes about each wine on tap. At the end of the night, my light pinot paired perfectly with the Mushroom Arugula pizza from Fire & Vice. And I felt right at home, surrounded by friends.

I came here to try out California Bun, an eatery that has harnessed an interesting (long overdue) concept, to package portable food. Here they prepare snack sized bites (or a little more) of favorite food fancies, enveloped in a daily fresh baked round brioche bun. The store is high ceiling, spacious and large, with ample space to dine in or carry out. It is a mom and pop joint, that is slowly but surely, beginning to make a mark. On the main wall, elegantly displayed, are all the many enticing varieties, for the day. My visit was designed to take something to go. The conundrum here is, what to order, because there were so many inviting choices that were talking to you. I finally decided to select three of these evenly browned and differently topped buns. The El Sabroso (Egg, cheddar & jack cheese, bacon & Jalapeno salsa, garnished with Cheese, bacon & jalapeño). The Roadside Burger (Seasoned ground beef, grilled onions, white American cheese, & secret house burger sauce, garnished with Cheese & bacon). The Mac Daddy (Creamy mac and cheese with a cheddar, jack, and parmesan cheese blend, garnished with Panko bread crumbs). So whats the verdict? The Mac Daddy was my least favorite. In comparing the other two, the Roadside Burger seemed to have the higher of (inside filling/inside bread) ratio, as compared to the El Sabroso. However, the latter is the most attractive bun on the outside and overall, contains a good mix of flavors and slight kick. Any food with a visible Jalapeño is a magnet, for me. Still, this concoction needs more of the egg mixture, to achieve the right balance. In general, all 3 buns were soft, had a nice texture, bread taste and chew. Service here is warm, inviting, friendly and informative.

Unfortunately, many of their creamery items don't work for someone like me who can't tolerate cows milk dairy. Usually an ice cream shop will have at least a few options which are plant-based. That isn't the case here. Even their Iced-blended coffee drinks are made with some of their dairy soft-serve, which is a concept I've not experienced in other places. DH had suggested coming here, thinking that I'd be able to get some kind of frosty drink, like a milkshake or smoothie, but that didn't turn out to be available. I did have one of their amazing chocolate chip cookies. It seems that baked goods are even more prominently featured than the "creamery" part of their name. I'm still trying to wrap my head around that. DH did get a milkshake and was quite happy with it, although he remarked that it a bit too sweet as he got further into the cup. They offer barstool seating at a counter looking out to the street, which would be pleasant in the late afternoon or evening when the sun isn't beating down. We will go back, but I sure would love to see more options for plant-based creamery choices. Not everyone can handle dairy.

We have heard from a few people about this small but incredibly delicious bakery called Le Herisson…read morein Simi Valley and we were very interested in trying it. It's my opinion that it really is hard to find a local bakery offering sweet and savory pastries freshly made with a very personal touch, they are far and few these days. This place also offered daily specials and a variety of coffee drinks, small dining area to enjoy the treasures baked and brewed daily. So many wonderful pastries to choose from, so more visits will be in the future to explore the deliciousness baked daily. She is open from Thursday to Sunday and closed Monday through Wednesday. Very friendly staff ready to guide you through the many pastries baked fresh each day. This is an incredible bakery to have close to home, it does remind me of establishments you would visit in France or Italy or other European countries. If you like freshly baked pastries from a boutique local friendly bakery then Le Herisson is the place to go to. Bravissima, I just can't say enough other than let your taste buds tell you.

Le Hérisson in Simi Valley is absolutely stunning. Chef Mineko Ito, a French-trained pastry chef…read morewho studied at the prestigious Ferrandi school in Paris, brings a beautiful French-Japanese style to her pastries, combining classic French technique with Japanese flavors. If you go in summer do not skip the Japanese ice, The ice is flown in from Japan, and I had the strawberry. It was absolutely delicious--light, delicate, and incredibly refreshing. It's a special seasonal treat you won't want to miss. I also took a picture of the Matcha ice. I purchased the strawberry ganache pastry and also got a Matcha ice drink to go on ice. Everything was absolutely phenomenal. I also always appreciate a self-serve water station that's so pretty and maintained. Every aspect of Le Hérisson is so elevated, beautiful, and thoughtfully curated. My only little suggestion would be to consider putting the more delicate pastries, like the raspberry ganache I ordered, in a small box rather than a paper bag. Something this beautiful deserves to arrive looking just as beautiful--and mine unfortunately got a little smooshed on the takeout What an amazing hidden treasure to have right here in Simi Valley. A French-Japanese pâtisserie this special feels like such a wonderful find, and the easy parking makes it even better. Thank you! Support local.

What a lovely couple!! Would definitely go back for their happy faces!…read more Tried CJs for the first time tonight and 2 of 3 of us were pleased!! Kid's face down in the Honey BBQ flatbread pizza. First, the smell of this on the drive home made my mouth water. Then I set it before her and opened the box and almost cried. Beautiful! Tasted amazing! Would absolutely order again! Spouse is making me very jealous with the tongue action licking up his egg and avocado sandwich. I don't know about black olives in egg salad, but I will say that this egg salad has the perfect balance of mayo and mustard. He is in heaven. "Phenomenal," he said and could only eat half of this huge sandwich. Impressive!! So I am the off one out. Usually when I go to a new place, I get something commonly loved so I can hold it up to the bar. This time I went rogue. The Mango Habanero Turkey panini called out to me. But sadly I didn't appreciate the flavor combo with the gooey nacho cheese sauce and a very minimal few pieces of turkey. Where my spouse's sandwich was several fingers high, mine was muy flaco. And the worst part for me was that it didn't survive the short 3 mile drive home. Opening the steamy box produced soggy panini--my biggest pet peeve with carry out orders. Having said that, the lovely owner through in a complimentary cookie and a huge smile and invited me to come back soon. I'm sure we would like to go back for a nice weekend brunch with coffee and their homemade baked goods!!

I was more than satisfied the price is a little pricey, but I feel like you get what you're paid…read morefor worth it. Definitely not a bad place to visit.
