Such a great little gem in Moorpark that I wish I knew sooner! I'm in love with the outdoor space for my dog and they offer water on tap for both humans and canines. There's also free wifi so we can work indoor or outdoor. Just a great new place overall that I'm so excited to go to more often. It's also surrounded by other cool restaurants and options for a group if we all want different things. The staff was so welcoming and kind when answering all of our questions. I highly recommend the cookies as they're flat, soft, yet crispy in addition to the iced matcha latte. read more

Hubs tried this place a couple of weeks ago and he was adamant that I try it, because I love scones, and here, they make them fresh every day. So I happily obliged. The scones he had last time were not available so they rotate flavors. That's awesome. I ordered a blackberry peach scone and he ordered the Irish cheddar scone. I LOVED my scone. It was so moist. The cinnamon topping is the chef's kiss. It reminded me of the days when my mom made pie crust and with the leftover crust I would sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top and bake them. The top of the scone tasted just like that to me. Mmm mmm. The coffee was well made. Just a little hotter would have been better, for me. The building is small and there is nowhere to sit inside, but outside, there are plenty of tables to sit and enjoy your scone and coffee. I will be back tomorrow as we head out back home. I can't wait to see what scones there are to choose from. When we got here the news was doing a story on them! That was pretty cool. read more

I was in the Moorpark area and I wanted to get some coffee and this came across my Yelp search. It's in the back at the end of the street if you're looking for parking. The entrance is in the middle of the building and there's a brewery across from it. Iced Lavender latte was made right not too sweet with a strong background taste. The campfire mocha was a summer drink to and that was more stronger than the lavender and has a s'mores taste to it. The strawberry lemon scone was really good and paired with my coffee. Cashier was nice that took my order and I got my 2 iced coffees within 8 mins. read more

I ordered the ice matcha latte with vanilla syrup. I think the ratio was off from matcha to milk cause the drink came out very light green. The latte also was wayyy to sweet, all I could taste was vanilla syrup and no matcha at all :/ I'm willing to give this place another chance because the service was really nice and made my drink really fast. The location of this place was also really pretty and it had a lot of outdoor seatings to hangout with your friends. Took us a while to discover The Alley. Now that we have, it's a go-to for listening to live music while hanging out on the weekend. Dear Hubby can have a beer from Energren, and I can have an iced coffee from California Coffee Republic. We often also order food from Fire & Vice, which shares space with "CCR" in the same suite. Ordering takes place at a couple of registers also shared between the two businesses. If you're ordering drinks, they're normally made pretty quickly, so stick around. If you're ordering food, that will take longer (sometimes a lot longer, but that's on Fire & Vice). As several other Yelpers have mentioned, the coffee is very smooth. I definitely like the mellow flavor, and the options for almond milk or other vegan options. They have various syrup flavors (hello, lavender!) to wake up either coffee or tea beverages. One thing they don't have is a blender, so no ice blended frosty drink concoctions. You can't see their venue or signage from the street or the parking lot. You should plan to enter the parking lanes on either side of The Alley and head to the back as far as you can. They're at the far southeast corner of The Alley, but you have to park and walk into the middle of the complex to get to their front door. For the past week I've been looking to try and support local coffee places as I'm over the chain stores. I decided to checkout California Coffee Republic after getting a few recommendations from my fellow Moorpark residents. First off, this coffee location is off on Flinn/Spring near Enegren Brewing in Moorpark. I literally had to drive around the complex 3 times times before double checking the suite number. It's not obvious if you've never visited the complex and unless you walk down the middle alleyway separating the two sides of the complex, you will have a hard time finding it. The location is literally across from Enegren and in the back of the complex with the last unit. There is adequate parking in the complex, but when Enegren is in full swing you will probably have to do street parking if it's lunch time or later. I arrived and there was a decent group of customers, which is always reassuring. The staff was extremely customer service oriented and very friendly. I absolutely felt welcome and they did treat every customer like an interaction instead of a transaction, which was great to see. The owner/manager did a great job communicating and interacting with everyone. Unfortunately, the large cold brew I ordered was without a doubt the worst one I've ever ordered anywhere. For $5.75 and 20oz I might as well just stayed home and made something with my Keurig. As some have stated, it was flavorless and felt watered down. Looking around at all the other customers I was the only one who didn't order hot coffee here and that might have been my mistake. However, ordering a coffee shouldn't taste watered down and have no substance. I actually tossed my coffee once I got home as each subsequent sip got worse and worse. Luckily, there were no coffee grounds in it, but it was very weak overall. Truthfully the redeeming qualities here are the customer service and the ambiance so I might give them a chance, but their cold brew coffee did leave a horrible impression as did the amount of effort trying to locate this business. I would reconsider visiting here later in the day (lunchtime) and try a hot coffee, but for cold brew/iced coffee fans I cannot recommend. read more

If I was rating The California Coffee Republic based solely on the coffee and food alone, I would give it a strong 4 out of 5 stars. Rating only on the service, management and organization, I would give only a 1 out of 5, being very generous. The California Coffee Republic has many young workers, no observable management or organization at all. My best friend and I spend one chosen afternoon a week to meet for a relaxing, adult moment of coffee and conversation. We did not find this at The California Coffee Republic. What we did find was a great amount of choas and disorganization. A young child, around the age of 5 or 6 was running in and out of the back of the coffee shop amongst the food cooking and preparation. At 1pm when we arrived, there were no pastries or scones left for the rest of the day, even though they did not close for many hours to come. After ordering, my cell number was taken so I could be texted when the food was ready. When I received the text, I went inside and stood waiting. I stood there for approximately 10 minutes and finally asked the young man making the coffees where I pick up my food. He told me to wait and someone would bring it out. I stood there another 5 minutes waiting and becoming increasingly irritated. Another worker came in from the outside, and I asked her where I get my food. She also told me to wait where I was. While I was standing there I heard another customer, who has also been standing there awhile ask where they get their food. In anger I finally walked outside and my friend went inside to wait. She also waited almost 15 minutes for our food. Not ok. While my friend was standing in there waiting, after I had already given up, California Coffee Republic called my phone with a reminder that the food was ready This entire experience is very unfortunate because the coffees were really good and the pizza was delicious. read more

This coffee shop is located indoors to order and the seating is outdoors shared with the other shops. Their menus offer a variety of food and drinks. I wanted to order a scone but they were out. My latte was pretty good. I got it with whole milk so the milk flavor was really strong, not enough coffee as I would've liked. Also I couldn't really taste the flavor I added but I'm sure I could've asked for an extra pump when ordering. They delivered my drink to me and overall the service was great. My husband & I come here every time we are in California. It's a bit hidden, but plenty of parking once you find it. The owners are funny and carry on a great conversation while we we're waiting for our drinks. I love that they have such a close connection with the coffee growers and that they roast their beans right there at the coffee shop. I have never been a scone fan, but this place changed my mind: they have freshly made scones. Usually 3 different flavors. My favorite flavor is the cranberry orange. They are a must try. Have been wanting to try this coffee shop for some time now. When you first arrive you feel like you are at a factory and as you walk down the alley it transforms. The place is spacious, clean and well stocked. The young lady at the cash register helped us by answering questions we had. We ended up choosing the pretzel that feeds 2-3 people and an Arnold Palmer. The pretzel came out right away and it was delicious. It was hot and soft and the cheese sauce was amazing. Adorable local coffee shop! It was our first time here and we loved the outside seating. Our cappuccino's were delicious and so were our scones! This is a cute place to get some coffee. There is place to sit out and have a relaxing time. I like Starbucks coffee better. If you want to support a local business this is a great place to go. They are tucked in to an ally. There parking is ok but if you have a larger car you might have a harder time getting in and out. When covid first came out this was a great place as they are not one to have seats inside but mostly outside. There are some times live music and bands that are fun to dance and jam too. Went here about 8 months ago. Purchased 2 children's hot chocolate a chai latte and a regular cup. Place was super busy and I was excited to try a newer local family coffee shop. What a huge disappointment!!! I was handed two cups Hot chocolate that was spilling everywhere (had to find napkins to wipe the side of the cups prior to allowing my kids to drink from them. I ordered a regular drip coffee which was as cold as the ambient outdoor temp. Terrible. Wife's chai was average at best. All in all 20 bucks for coffee/hot chocolate was a huge disappointment, and I will never go back. What a shame. read more

Came here this morning on a whim before work (I wfh and usually just make coffee since there's no great coffee shops nearby) - didn't realize there was a coffee shop that wasn't a chain so close to my home!
