I have had a lot of dental work done in my life and i must say that my experience with Dr David and his team was amazing ! I walk in and the waiting area is small but beautifully done with free coffee cart area and very modern sleek leather couches, a huge bay window with hanging plants. The girl at the front did her due diligence with my 2 insurances to make sure i saved the most, then Dr David's assistant, Yesenia, calls me back and immediately was so sweet and concerned for my lips getting dried up during my procedure that she applied Vaseline to my lips for comfort! At that point i thought i was in Beverly Hills getting my root canal, but i was in good ol El Cajon!! Dr David comes in and shakes my hand and introduces himself. He explains what is going to happen and they both start to prep me. So once it was time for the needle i grabbed a hold of the arm of the dental chair expecting the normal pain that comes from the shot to numb my mouth. I am extremely familiar with this pain because i have had 8 root canals in my day. But he and yesenia wanted to orally numb first. One held my mouth open while the other held pressure to the gums with the long Q tip covered in the numbing agent. As time passed i realized they were timing it. Most dental offices put the Q tip in your mouth and then go from one room to the next seeing as many patients simultaneously but this guy was different and he was making sure i got everything i needed in order to experience the least amount of pain. Ok now the needle! He injected and kept asking "does that hurt"? I NEVER FELT A THING! The procedure lasted about 45 mins and throughout the process yesenia talked me through it explaining what was happening. Then at checkout instructions were giving with anti inflammatories and a steroid pak for the post-op pain. Today -2 days later, on a Saturday Dr David calls me to check on me! Wow i really got the full experience with this team. I highly recommend Dr David for all ur endodontist needs. FYI i am also in the medical field so i am always looking for the highest standard of care. And let's be real I'm somewhat of a nit picker! Nothing bad to say about this office! read more

I was having a incredibly difficult time trying to find an endodontist that took my HMO dental plan. My gratitude for Doctor Rahnejat and his practice is indescribable. From the receptionist to his dental assistant, I was treated with such generosity. I came in with a pretty bad infection my 1st visit in which I was given Dr. Rahnejat's PERSONAL cell phone number and was told to call him if my swelling didn't go down over the weekend. Dr. was able to clean the infected tooth until my next visit. HE called ME to check up on my swelling. I've NEVER had ANY doctor themselves call me after an appointment. He was able to finish the root canal my 2nd visit in which I didn't feel ANY pain on either occasion. The teamwork and fluidity he has with his dental assistant is beyond me. They make such a great team together. Overall, my anxiety for the dentist was taken into consideration and I felt extremely well taken care of. Thank you Doctor Rahnejat and Team!!! I had been experiencing pain on this paticular tooth for over 2 years. I had a root canal procedure done on this tooth 2 years ago so of course I was apprehensive to have another dentist work on it again. I researched many dentists and was referred to Dr Rahnejat. Dr. Rahjejat explained all my options I had for my discomfort. After 2 years of discomfort, I am happy to report that Dr. Rahnejat finally fixed my problem. I was having migraines, sensitivity to cold and could not eat on this side. His staff is extemely friendly as I had to bring my daughter to the office to one of my visits. They even offer easy listening music during your procedure. I have never gone to a small business who cares so much about their patients. I would recommend him 100% to any new patients. read more

I never take the time to write reviews (although I do value other's opinions). I could not let time pass without writing about my experience with Dr. Rahnejat and his staff. I am shocked that his overall rating is only 3 stars, and after reading some of the negative reviews, I feel really bad that others blame their issues on him and his staff. I can understand the unanswered call, proof is proof. Unfortunately, it happens. Maybe she stepped away from her desk momentarily. The woman who mailed a check the day of service, who's husband forgot to bring his credit card...everyone knows that payment is due the day of services, period. Any smart business owner would not provide services unless they are paid. It's a business, not a charity. This is YOUR problem, not theirs. From the time I called and left a message to schedule an appointment, I was VERY WELL taken care if. Amanda called me back first thing the next business day. She was very nice and empathetic of my situation. She also called again the day before to confirm my appointment. Yes, the office is a bit hard to find but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that it is a business complex with multiple addresses. If you use google maps, you can tell you are in the right place, and there is an abundance of parking, you just have to use your eyes to find his office...not hard. Technology is great but it can't do everything for you :) Their office is very nice, and clean. I was given a quote before taken back and spent no more than 5 minutes in the waiting room after turning in my paperwork. Yesenia, Dr. Rahnejat's dental assistant was so sweet. She made me feel very comfortable. I loved how personable Dr. Rahnejat was, not only with me but with Yesenia too! He spoke to her with much respect and was very kind. He explained what I should expect from beginning to end. He even asked me how my nerves were and he actually cared to listen to me. Such a nice guy! Just talking to me helped to ease my nerves. They did a great job, he was very gentle and made sure to numb me up really good. I didn't even feel the injections. He has magic hands :) He even took the time to personally call me today to see how I was doing. That is excellent service. I highly recommend Dr. Rahnejat to anyone who has a root canal. So thrilled to write a good review for this dentist! I was a little leery to go because I'm not familiar with El Cajon, but he was awesome. I had a major infection from another dentist and he was so kind and got me totally numb to get a root canal started with no pain. He kept checking with me throughout the process to make sure I couldn't feel anything and worked pretty quickly overall. The assistant was very kind and so was the lady at the front desk. I will also note that I was an emergency case that he worked me in on about an hour notice because I needed to head out of town the following morning for business. First of all, I could not find the building because of the small numbers on the building, not their fault, that's a management problem. The receptionist was helpful at first then after I filled out the information sheet, did not tell me to fill out the other three sheets she did not give me and then had the nerve to snap at me, "sir your didn't finish it". Yes, because I wasn't given the sheets to fill out. I finally made it back to the dentist chair, had X-rays done and when the Dentist came and completed his review, he decided, after looking at his watch (345pm) for a 230pm appointment, decided he didn't have enough time to do the work. I was sent home, after a long conversation with a phoned in perscription for the pain. Turns out, the perscription never made to my fill location. More phone calls without my pain/concerns being addressed. I won't be back and I don't think you should as well. Zero stars. read more

Came here for my root canal. No pain during, no pain after, no pain the next day, maybe I'm just lucky lol. Great staff and dr. All super nice and they talk you through the whole producer and explain what they're doing, which I liked, it eased my mind. I would say "id definitely be back!" But I'm hoping I never have to go back once the second half of my root canal is done lol! I was referred to Dr. David by my primary dentist at El Cajon Family Dental. Dr. David handled my root canal. This was the first one I've ever had and on top of HATING the dentist much like the rest of America, I have HUGE dental anxiety issues. Both the techs and Dr. David were amazing. They all went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and walked me through everything they were doing. The office itself is beautiful. Very nice waiting area with tea and coffee and the back is extremely organized, bright and open. Very welcoming environment. Honestly, I couldn't have had a better dental experience here. After my root canal was done they called to follow up with how I was feeling and if I was having any sorry of issues. Everything went perfectly. My tooth is fixed, without having to lose it, and as much as I enjoyed my experience with your office, I hope I don't ever have to come back lol Thanks again for everything! read more

Dr. Rahnejat and his staff are outstanding. Never have I experienced more prompt, friendly, and thorough service at a dental office. I was referred to his office by my primary dentist for a root canal on a fractured molar of mine. Having had a root canal before I was ready to endure a few hours of torture but to my surprise the procedure was virtually pain free. Not only Did Dr David and staff make me feel so comfortable that I felt zero pain during the procedure, but the after care he prescribed was so wonderful I did not feel a bit of pain the days to follow (without narcotics ). i, like most people are quite afraid of dental work. i was refereed by my regular dentist due to them not being sure if the tooth was savable or not. Dr. David consulted with me and ye sits savable but the tooth right next to it was in need of a root canal as well so if i was ok with it we would schedule a long enough appt to get them done. he also gave me meds to calm me down for the appt. i was so relaxed during the appt not just from the meds but because the whole office made feel calm. the office is very clean and very bright from the giant windows (great view to see while having work done). Dr, David talked me through everything he was doing and it went great. it took 3 hours due to me having a root that forks like a snake tongue (i guess that is a rare thing). i did have major paid and swelling afterwards but when i called Dr. David to let him know, ON Easter mind you, he was so sweet and called in some steroids for me and then even called me back a few times to make sure i was feeling better. i went in today to make sure there was nothing major wrong that caused the pain and swelling and it was just a simple thing of grinding down a 'high point'. They are awesome in that office and i have 2 more root canals that need to be done and i will be having them done there. I just saw dr. Rahnejhat for the first half of my root canal procedure. Unfortunately he was not able to do it all at once because of my school schedule, but because I was in so much pain, he scheduled me right away for the first half. He was extremely nice, remembered me from an appointment 2 years prior, worked with me on price since I now have no insurance, and didn't hurt me at all. I have to wait a couple weeks to get the procedure finished but I'm now in considerably less pain! Dr. Rahnejat personally called to check up on me twice and made sure I had his cell phone number for emergencies. All around great experience! read more

I was referred to Dr David by my general dentist to handled my root canal , This is was my first root canal l have had. Dr David was so amazing , they did great job for my root canal, he very care and gentle and also l like the assistance she is very nice and keep asking me if l was ok on that procedure. This is Dentist office gave me that no other dentist office has ever given me. I am terrified of did homework and when I was referred to do a root canal I had anxiety to the fullest degree however David made my experience 150% great and so did his wonderful staff that treat you so kind and make sure you're very comfortable. Interested to read the positive reviews about this dentist. I had quite the opposite experience a couple of years ago. My husband had been referred there by his primary care practice. After a couple of appts he went back again and sat in their chair and was numbed up. Then a staff member came in and demanded payment from him. He was not carrying a credit card so could not pay them. We have two very good dental plans which had already been billed. The co-payment invoice was received the prior Saturday and I had written a check to mail to them on the Monday, the day of his appt. They stopped treating him and sent him home, despite the pain he was in from the tooth they had not correctly fixed before. I did not believe this story so called Dr.Rahnejat to ask. He was so rude to me and said he was running a business and needed to be paid. I agree but I need a day to get the check in the mail. He hung up on me and we have never been back, nor will we or any other members of my family. The tooth still hurts unfortunately and it's at the point now where he has to seek more options. Unbelievable - we have never been so badly treated by a service provider. Hopefully he has improved over time. read more

I was referred to this office for a root canal by my regular dentist. I went here because they were about 25% cheaper than the other places I called (my insurance doesn't cover the procedure). I was able to get in on an emergency basis in 2 days (due to MY schedule). Staff was very friendly and helpful, and gave me all the paperwork I needed as well as instructions on filling out the back side (I listened to all the instructions). Once I was back in a chair, I felt at ease and comfortable. This is the very FIRST time I ever had a dentist tell me to raise my hand if I needed a break and he actually STOPPED working as soon as I did raise my hand!! And he and the assistant kept asking me if I was okay during the procedure. I truly felt cared about as a patient and as a person. Because I had let my teeth go for much longer than I should have, I still had pain, which was to be expected. Payment was requested at the appropriate time, after the procedure, and in a very appropriate and tactful manner. I did bring payment in full, because as far as I know, there isn't a doctor or dentist who does not require a balance be paid in full at the time of visit - and I have always seen it clearly posted. Anyway..... My procedure was on a Friday. Dr. Rahnejat told me that, if I needed anything or had any questions, his cell phone number was on the office recording. Since I had to work Sat. & Sun., I just toughed out the pain and figured I would call on Monday. They did call in prescriptions for me, twice, to Kaiser, which I received without any delay or other problems. When I got home from work on Sunday, my husband said the dentist had called to see how I was doing and left his cell number for me to call him back! I have NEVER had a doctor or dentist call on a Sunday, if at all, to check on my progress. I waited until Monday to call, and via staff, I was given 3 options to resolve my pain. I chose the steroids, and 2 days later, staff called to see if they were working for me. This office goes above and beyond, and will have my business as long as they are around. I have already referred them several times. Like Gina L, I too was interested in reading some reviews - the negative ones. I cannot imagine how I could have such a great experience, and others have just the opposite. May personality conflict, maybe a bad day, maybe unrealistic expectations - I really don't know. But what I do know is that I HIGHLY recommend this dentist and his staff for any endodontic needs. I only wish the practiced general dentistry. read more

Dr.Rahnejat is a very competent, educated and experienced endodontist. I went for a root canal that it happened to had been incorrectly done by my other endodontist. Dr. Rahnejat had to do it over again which is always very challenging. He reassured me that everything was going to be ok. He was very gentle, precise. Felt no pain and all the procedure went very smoothly. This is so far the best experience I have ever had with a root canal procedure. I will never go to any other doctor for root canal and I will refer all of my friends and relatives to him. The services he provides are affordable and what is the most important dr.
