We come to Railtown pretty often. They have great beer and hard seltzers. The food is always good. Service is usually pretty fast and always friendly. I tried one of their salads for a change. It was called Root Awakening - fresh greens tossed with carrot ginger dressing. It was topped with goat cheese, pickled beets, radish, and roasted pistachios. I added grilled chicken. It was the perfect portion and tons of chicken. I would definitely order it again. The Nashville Hot sandwich is always good. Not too spicy but plenty messy. I love coming here! Not sure I could have chosen a better menu option but their olive burger with pimentos that I chose to have them "make flaming" for a small upcharge was THE way to go. Holy crap thing was delicious I ended up removing the top but because I enjoyed the flavor of the actual food was also the way to go. Listen. You gotta go if you like olive burgers and do this. The building itself is very nice and modern with upstairs and patio seating available. There is plenty of seating around the bar itself as well. Service was also attentive, friendly, and helpful when looking for a certain beer. I went with their "Pitter Paddy" Irish Red which a very good, mild red. I ended my experience with a double IPA called the "Citra Warrior". If you don't like bitter and/or hops, do NOT get it. I happen to prefer the two and really liked this beer. My mother and I stopped here for dinner one day because it was on our list of places to try and we definitely didn't regret it. We generally like to order a couple appetizers and split them, which is what we chose to do here and we could not believe the amount of food that they brought to the bar. Tina, the lama Dilla was the biggest quesadilla I think I have ever seen and it was so delicious, especially with the avocado and the chipotle aïoli. We also ordered the dip flight thinking it would just be a small appetizer and it literally could've been a whole meal. Four different amazing dips, along with fresh tortilla chips and the most wonderful warm breaded pretzel braid that was to die for. I don't get to Dutton much (or ever), but Nate and I met his parents at Railtown Brewing Company recently and I enjoyed this first visit. I noticed a large patio that would be great for warmer months! The inside is very typical brewpub with polished concrete floors and dark wood accents. It wasn't too busy and we were seated right away. The food menu is pretty large and includes burgers, tacos, bowls, lots of starters, sandwiches, burritos, desserts, and salads. I got a half order of the pig pen nachos, and Nate got the buffalo chicken salad. I also ordered the "Decker Reported" (if you know, you know #GoLions) which is a blue seltzer drink. Our food came out super fast. The half order of nachos was still a big portion and Nate and I definitely could have shared it between the two of us. The big pile of chips was covered in cheese, chorizo, pork, bacon, pico de gallo, pickled jalapenos, and chipotle ranch. Topping distribution was great and the chips were crisp. I really liked the spicy chorizo! Nate's buffalo chicken salad was reported to be quite spicy! We weren't really expecting that. He liked it, but be aware if you're spice-adverse. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich without avocado and chose tater tots as my side. The sandwich was excellent and quite messy, but that was fine since I had a fork and knife. The tater tots were crispy and plain--just your typical fried tots, nothing extraordinary. The bathroom was clean, equipped only with an air blower, but it had a foot pedal on the door to open it. Been here a few times and finally writing a review. Let's start with the Heritage Salad. Had this twice with added grilled chicken and it was great. A big salad as well. Railtown burger, death by cheese burger, and the BBQ bacon burger are the next ones. Burgers are done very well. Death by cheese is definitely for a cheese lover. BBQ had a nice fast to it. All were juicy. No dry meat here. Also hade the pretzel plate. Did not care for this at all. Comes more like a loaf and didn't taste like a pretzel that I'm used to. Just too thick for me. Cheese curds were great. Staff was friendly and quick on all visits. The atmosphere was pretty cool. All visits were at lunch time and they able to get us out in a decent time. There are a couple other items that I would like to try so I will be back. read more

I would drive an hour to get the Mushroom burger again! Wow. One of the best burgers I've had anywhere. So many flavors going on. Cooked perfectly. Even the bun was fantastic! Having a repair on our Coach and they staff sent us here for lunch while it was getting fixed. What a fabulous place. Sort-of rustic inside and we grabbed a couple of seats at the bar. The Bartender, Heidi, has such a great personality and made everyone feel very welcomed. We had a couple of cold ones and their version of a Cuban sandwich with fries and a side of coleslaw. Went to railtown for lunch with a coworker we split the street corn dip I thought it was very good great flavor my coworker would have liked it better warm. But the star of the afternoon was the Chicken Satay Bahn Mi sandwich!!! It was phenomenal! I do not drive out to 68th street unless for work but I would for this sandwich! The only thing is the menu says peanut sauce and I would have called it a curry sauce as it had no peanut flavor. But I like curry better so no complaints here! Will be back! TERRIBLE SERVER, WORSE MANAGER! Started when we arrived and were told it was a 20-25 minute wait. We were seated in less than 5 minutes and observed that no patrons left or vacated. We sat down and I ordered a beer. The beer was brought to us pretty quickly along with waters. The beer was overflowing and spilled across our table when our waitress sat it down. We had no silverware or napkins so this was problematic. We asked for them and they were never brought to us to clean up the mess. My wife ended up going and getting them herself. When the waitress came back for our order we asked specially that if we ordered an appetizer if it would come out before our meal. She ensured it would so we proceeded to order as such. During this time my son ordered a lemonade which we had to track down later after our food arrived and it was brought to us by the hostess. Our appetizer came after about 15 minutes and immediately after our entrees came. The person dropping the appetizer was not back to the kitchen before the folks bringing our entrees arrived. When I asked the waitress why this food all came together after she specifically said it would not she pointedly blamed the kitchen and walked away. SHE NEVER CAME BACK! When our bill came the manager dropped it off and took my card. At no time did he ask about our experience or address the issue we had. Nothing was done to make this right! It appears that there is a lack of organization and they struggle when they are busy. If you are going there (which I wouldn't suggest), I would avoid going during busy hours. As for the food, the burger was good, fries were average, Mac and cheese had a weird...almost salty taste to it. I cannot comment on the Dip Sampler because our meal came before we could really try it. Overall, you would expect a manager to address our issues and a server in a restaurant this busy to be better. read more

This was our second visit and I have to say we were a bit disappointed. It took longer than normal for our server to come to our table, She brought our beers before our waters and that took longer than normal. We had to ask twice about the monthly rice bowl special. I ordered the rice bowl special (Cajun shrimp) and was disappointed. The quality was okay, but it wasn't very hot and in fact parts of it were cold. Our server did not get back to check on us until we were almost done eating. Another server ended up taking our payments. He apologized and said our server was new. This was our first stop once we got off the plane in GR. It isn't too far from the airport so makes for a perfect 1st or last stop if checking out breweries. We did the flight with Watermelon Cider, Kiwi Sour, Shadyside IPA, River Trout and Great Stoutsby. The watermelon cider tasted like wine and was a little difficult to drink honestly. Ben said The Great Stoutsby was the best out of his options but wasn't over the moon with the others. Maybe it was just a miss that day. They do have a food menu that offers a range of items that are very different that makes you think they are not sure what type of food they want to offer but we could smell the food from other patrons close by and it did smell very yummy. The proportion size given to them was large so that is good and we both said that we would be willing to give the brewery another try and that next time we would order some food as well. read more

We went for our first time today and it is a cool looking spot. My husband enjoyed his beer and we did enjoy our nachos. The corn and pico was fresh and had great flavor. For dinner we ordered a burger and Nashville hot chicken sandwich which literally came out under 3 minutes after we ordered, which was bizarre. I did not like the sandwich, it wasn't spicy and tasted like they put syrup on it. The buns felt stale and there was more friend batter than chicken on the sandwich. read more
