The three movers took four and a half hours to load my luggage onto their truck. They asked for a 20-minute break except for lunch. It took them another three and a half hours to put down the luggage. And they put things down everywhere regardless of what I marked. They did not reassemble the disassembled bed. They did not wrap the furniture safely in a blanket. They showed kindness by putting more tape on the already packed box and breaking down the legs of the $10 Ikea table. They took too much time to move a child's chair and a shoebox one by one. That was the factor that made me pay more. They didn't even have the right tools. The furniture had a big scratch and the walls were damaged. I paid only $500 for the last move of the same size. I had to pay over 1,000 dollars this time. read more

I would recommend this moving company a thousand times over. (There's a sentence I never thought I'd write!) Back in 2012, I had an atrocious experience with a long distance moving company, and I was very skeptical and nervous when I had to hire movers again in 2020. I did a LOT of research and Raimond's ultimately seemed like the best choice based on reviews and estimates. My initial interactions with the office manager were really reassuring. She was quick to respond, transparent, and super helpful as she fielded my questions about speciality items and changes to my inventory. On pick-up day, the crew was quick but careful, and super polite. They always checked with me when they had a question about something, which made me feel super confident that they wanted to do the best job they could do. When my things arrived nearly 1,000 miles later and with the SAME CREW... EVERYTHING arrived in one piece. Seriously, everything. Not a single broken glass or furniture chip. The crew assembled and staged my furniture and was really accommodating with tweaks (e.g. "that doesn't seem quite center," or "can we try this piece over here?") Moving is always stressful, but these guys made it infinitely less so. I knew exactly when my furniture would be picked up, when it would arrive, and had the confidence that my stuff wouldn't be moved more than necessary since they use the same truck to load, transport, and deliver your things. I will never, ever again use one of those cheaper companies that piles your stuff into a semi with other people's stuff, loads and reloads your stuff multiple times, and ultimately holds your stuff hostage for weeks on end. In 2012, I basically paid a company $2K to move my stuff across the country, only to have to throw it all in a landfill... that is how poorly they treated my things. Raimond's is definitely pricier than that, but it is worth its weight in gold. read more

BEWARE that during COVID they are not good with PPE, do not wear MASKS properly. Most of my moving crew only wore their masks over their mouths and not their noses, thus defeating the purpose. Overall they are careless & unprofessional. They moved super quickly and were sloppy. Lost hardware to my bed, a dresser shelf, and a family heirloom Korean chest. In terms of the furniture moving itself, expect the average level of casualties in terms of damage. These guys getting like 5 stars on here blows my mind. When I called to report the missing hardware the shelf was the only thing that could be fixed, and they just tried to blow it off as no big deal and told me that the missing shelf support is a standard size and they would send me some. As for the other missing hardware, they just kept denying it and saying to check the drawers even though that particular item is a chest and has no drawers. That was clearly BS, and what they sent didn't fit my self. After going to 2 different hardware stores (not resentful at all that I had to do this during a pandemic) I found out there is no such thing as a standard shelf support. I discovered at least 3 common sizes, then there is either metal or plastic and also tons of different shapes. I found one option that could work for me but it's a slightly different shape so clearly my hardware was custom. I had to change out all 4 supports, not just the 1 Raimond's lost, but the shelf wobbles now. I'm afraid to put heavy things on it so in can't use it for books which was it's previous purpose. Will have to get a new bookshelf now. Thanks, Raimond's..... Really wish they had told me when they noticed the shelf support was lost so I could have tried looking for it outside and on the floor of the moving truck before they left. I know they noticed it was missing and just didn't tell me because after they left I found the dresser unwrapped and put back together and the shelf unwrapped but curiously leaning against something instead of being back on the dresser. If they had been professional and told me we all could have looked for it and maybe found it. They also unilaterally decided just to leave off all the plastic washers that go between my mattress frame & bed frame where it screws together without consulting me. Apparently they Will audaciously decide what hardware their customers do and do not need, even though it is the customer's property. I know it's not a weight-bearing item of hardware but it served a purpose and I'm arfraid over time my bed will shift & creak and get noisy since the connection isn't as tight. I wish they had at least given me the washers in case I wanted to put them back in the future, and they were my property, but they didn't even do that. I found 3 of the 8 on the floor of my old bedroom when I went back to clean before turning in the keys, but who knows where the other 5 are. I can't even put them actually because it's a queen bed and I live alone so no hope I can shift a queen mattress by myself - that's what I hired movers for..... Oh and to cap off the inconsiderate & unprofessional theme, when they left they stuffed all their garbage in my building's RECYCLING bin, like bunches of the used moving plastic wrap covered in box tape and their food trash, like McDonald's stuff with straws still in. In our RECYCLE BIN. Classy. Thanks, Raimond's, for causing your paying customer to have to dig out your garbage from a recycling bin and touch your used McDonald's soda cup with the straw still inside it during a pandemic. Their user interface made booking and customizing the move easy and intuitive, allowing to add additional information at any time to provide more information to the movers. At the day of the move, the crew leader already knew what to expect based on the information I provided, even though I only submitted it the day prior. He still took the time to confirm in person what was getting moved and check for the best path out of the apartment building. They arrived on time, followed all covid guidelines during moving day (wore masks, washed hands, socially distanced whenever feasible) and were extremely friendly and helpful with questions that came up during the move and pointing out potential problems (e.g. giving a heads up about likely needing to anchor the dresser to the wall after moving from hardwood flooring to carpet). A few times cars blocked by the moving truck had to leave, which the movers promptly accommodated, leading to happy neighbors. The movers worked well together and finished the move faster than expected despite needing to navigate through tight hallways/staircases and disassembling + reassembling furniture as needed. As I watched them execute the move, I felt like they took better care of every single piece they moved than I would have myself, leaving me feeling comfortable about my belongings. Wish I could leave 0 stars. Beware of this company! They broke my 55" flatscreen TV and are not willing to cover the replacement. Mistakes happen, but I would expect their company to make it right. This TV cost more than my move. Not Happy, especially since I tipped the movers 20% in cash, only to find my TV screen completely damaged after removing from the box. Be sure to request the contract and read over any/all contract details as the foreman does not provide this to you for review. They pre-fill out the contract then ask for your payment and signature at the end of the move. Their pre-move notices about caring for your health and safety in this COVID pandemic is not reflected by the crew, we had to ask multiple times for them to put on their masks. My wife is 33 weeks pregnant, so we are being extremely cautious during this time. This is one of the main reasons we hired them too, otherwise we would have moved ourselves and spared a very nice big-screen TV. My last experience working with movers was not good so I had reservations with using any sort of moving company this time around. Especially with the dreaded September 1 moving day. To save money and because I wasn't in town that day, I actually pushed my move a week later to September 9. I was lucky in that I was able to store my stuff at my old apartment but I think if I had to pay the movers to store for me it would have been much more expensive. Raimond's was not only the cheapest option but the people were easy to work with and professional. The person that worked on scheduling was polite and answered my questions. Not only that but a few days before she called me and notified me of a cancellation and asked if I wanted to move my time up to earlier in the day. The quote I was given was very accurate. I was estimated 2 hours for $220. My previous move I had the movers nitpick about the exact number of boxes. Raimond's showed up with 3 people (I was expecting only 2 for my bedroom). I pointed to my stuff, which might have been a couple more boxes over what I had estimated, but they didn't say anything and immediately went to work. I think as long as you don't end up with like double what you said then it isn't a big deal. Granted I had everything boxed, packaged, disassembled, and pushed into the corner for convenience but they were so quick and efficient. For my disassembled furniture they used dollies and plastic wrap for security. To be fair, I didn't have the most fragile or expensive belongings. I actually personally moved all my fragile things (glass bottles, ceramic trinkets, sentimental things, etc) the night before the big move and my furniture was all cheap Ikea stuff so I didn't really care if it got scratched. The whole thing took about an hour and a half. They do have a 2 hour minimum but I was notified ahead of time so I was prepared to pay it anyway. I repeat, do not force your friends and family to help you move, don't be that guy. I called Raimonds several weeks before we wanted to move with a couple days in mind because they are extremely busy. The woman I chatted with was very helpful and immediately got us a slot reserved and took my $100 deposit. I had previously checked one specific day online and it was booked so it was helpful to call and talk through options with her. Right after the call, I received email confirmation with all the details and a handful of reminder emails (not a gazillion "nurture marketing" bs ones but reminders that actually were helpful. On the day of the move, Damian and his colleague arrived EARLY (yasss!) and called to let us know they were there and ready to go. Damian ran through all the paperwork with us, made sure it was all clear and then they jumped right in. It was literally fascinating to watch these two work. Within 3 hrs TOTAL they had packed up all of our 2-bedroom (50+ boxes + furniture), drove across town and moved us into our new place. BANANAS. This last move was very small...I just had an armoire being delivered form a friends house...It was a bit tricky to get around the landing because of the ceiling height there but they quickly figured it out quickly like a jigsaw puzzle! We moved with Raimond Mover's from Boston -- Chicago and we are unhappy to report that we had a truly terrible experience with this company. We spent $7500 in total on our move from Everett, MA, to Chicago, IL, on July 19, and regret very much that we trusted them with our belongings. Here some of the damage they caused on our belongings: --severe scratches to Herman Miller office chair --severe scratches to legs of Danish Midcentury sofa --a hole in our Persian rug --heirloom china (one plate chipped; 2 destroyed) --1930s perspex side table (one leg was broken off and completely missing!) --one box, containing china and marked "fragile," was delivered upside down and smashed, its contents entirely in fragments --antique architect's table (disassembled against our instructions and now irreparably broken) --broken fan --smashed Japanese glass sculpture entirely missing: --a box of kitchen utensils and plates --the leg of aforementioned side table It had been a nightmare. I give this 5 stars because there was nothing negative at all about my experience with Raimond's Movers....there was nothing earth-shatteringly perfect about them either...man I sound like a Debbie-downer! Ok, so I had a small, easy move from Brighton to Watertown and I didn't want to pay a million dollars. I searched around Yelp and got quotes from many places but Raimond's was the cheapest, and had some of the best reviews on here. I didn't realize that the moving industry was like the used car industry and real estate industry, with people calling you within millaseconds of submitting an inquiry into services. Raimond's didn't do that. In fact if I had to fault them one thing, it was that I didn't actually speak to a human being until the day of my move. I called and left a message to confirm the move, then Raimond (I think) called to confirm the move, and then I called, and just had to assume it was going to go down. Well I moved this past Friday when it was 107 degrees and the movers were awesome. They got there about an hour into the window projected (usually they say 1 - 4 and show up at 4:30, not these folks! They sent a third mover, which made it all that much easier. The movers themselves were tall, skinny, young foreign men from maybe a former Soviet state, so at first I thought "these kids are going to pass out when they try to move my stuff!" They assured me it was a piece of cake and had my stuffed wrapped and moved within an hour. The knocked off some of the fees too because it was so quick (I ended up paying $240) . I gave them plenty of water and a good tip for dealing with the heat and would recommend them to anyone. No drama, easy, dependable movers! read more

These guys were amazing! First of all, Raimond himself did my move so obviously he's going to do a good job when it's his reputation on the line. I moved from a third floor walk up in Fall River with very narrow stairs and and it only took them an hour and a half to have everything out. At my new first floor place in Somerville, they unloaded in one hour! I didn't have a ton of large furniture pieces but their 16' truck was near full so it was still damn impressive. ***UPDATE*** I referred a coworker to Raimond's Movers and she was also really happy with their service so it looks like they are pretty consistent :). Best of all, quick did not mean sloppy. They wrapped all furniture in pads and shrink wrap. They even had a special box for holding my precious flatscreen tv and surrounded it with pillows that I had packed. Everything arrived safely and they even put my bed frame together for me. They arrived at my old place at 10:30 and were finished at the new place by 2:30, including driving ~60 miles in the pouring rain. Their rate was great too, $75/hr for two guys and the truck (weekday rate). Overall an excellent experience. And the best $380 I've ever spent! read more

Fantastic movers, thank you yelpers! We had a 2 bedroom apartment moving from a 4th floor walkup in Brookline to a storage unit in Brighton. Three guys showed up on time and just went to work. They disassembled all of the furniture, wrapped everything so it didn't get damaged, and packed it in the truck. At the storage unit, they somehow managed to fit our entire apartment into a 10x10 unit, with a foot or two to spare. They were incredibly efficient, strong, and really cared about the well-being of our stuff. I can't wait to see how quickly they can move our stuff out of the storage unit and into our new apartment next month. If you need to move, these are the guys to call. read more

The other reviewers weren't lying, that's for sure. This is our first time hiring movers. None of my friends were in town as it was Thanksgiving weekend and I wasn't about to move our apartment across town (Eastie to Somerville) with just my wife helping. Two gentlemen showed up right on time, 9AM Sunday. After an 8 second assessment of my apartment, they started loading the truck like masters of Tetris (as Sarah S. pointed out, they were Russian, so this makes perfect sense). Furniture was taken apart by them and shrink-wrapped. Now, I have some brute strength when I need it, but these dudes do not mess around. We packed way too many books into a box that should not be used for books, not a problem. I think we saw one of the guys deadlift our full 2-drawer metal filing cabinet and then spin it around on his finger (that last part may or may not be an embellishment). We went from a first floor 1.5br apt. to a third floor 3br apartment in just about 4.5 hours, and that includes travel time. Reserving was easy and was done online (with a confirmation call from Raimond). The contract was simple and the website's estimate was on point. We paid with a credit card, so there was a 3% fee. That was the only "hidden" fee, and it was pittance. Take out cash beforehand to avoid this and you're golden. We ended up spending more money at Target for our new place than we did for the movers. My only complaint is with the City of Boston (I can see the shock on your faces), who said that Raimond's bond certificate was out-of-date. My wife got Raimond on the phone who proceeded to yell at the morons working in the Transportation Department until they found his newest bond, which they did (big surprise). Save the money you'd normally spend on renting a truck and buying pizza and beer for your friends and just get these guys. read more

These guys were fantastic! They just helped my fiancee and I move out of our two one bedroom apartments in the North End, and then moved us into a new one bedroom along the Waterfront. I shopped around quite a bit, and Raimonds offered the most reasonable rates. Second, the owner was great in explaining the types of trucks and what size we should go with. On those narrow North End streets, you want to have the smallest vehicle possible that will fit your stuff! Third, they understood that I was paying by the hour, and so they hustled. In the end, they moved us out of two places, and into another place in 3 1/2 hours!!! Other groups were saying that the job could take upwards of 8 hours. read more

These guys are amazing! I called them the magical Russian fairies. I had bought a Groupon for another moving company that refused to honor the Groupon. Frustrating to say the least. So I found these guys on Yelp. I reserved the date I wanted online a week before the move and they confirmed the date on the same day! I was so relieved that they managed to fit me in during the busy moving season. These two guys showed up exactly on time. They were very professional and got right to work. I had a bunch of loose bags and books lying around and they picked those up without a complaint. They took my bed, desk, dressers, and shelving apart like pros! After everything was shrink wrapped, padded, and packed safely into their truck, only 1.5 hrs had passed, even though they had to maneuver all my furniture down some impossibly narrow stairways. This is where the magical Russian fairies come into play. I was moving into Boston during rush hour on a Friday. 93 South was packed and the traffic prediction estimated a whopping 40 minutes to drive 3 miles. I got a head start so that I could open the doors when the movers got there. When I arrived 45 minutes later, they somehow had already started to unload the truck while waiting for me!! I ran down the street to get them some water but they didn't even stop to drink it and started to bring stuff into the house immediately. My new place had much wider stairways and easy access so they managed to unload everything and put all my furniture back together where I wanted them very quickly. The furniture even feel sturdier now than they did before the move!! When the bill came, it was only 3.5 hours! The move itself only took 3 hours even in the traffic. The extra 0.5 hr was their standard charge for travel time. I tipped them $20 each and they were on their way. The whole time they were lifting heavy things, they were laughing and speaking crisp Russian. It was a very pleasant experience especially after the rude customer service from the Groupon movers. I was very reluctant to try getting movers for the first time ever, but thanks to Yelp I found Raimond's Movers and everything worked out well. Just like others pointed out, the online reservation process is quick and easy but it's a good idea to call up a day or two later if you haven't heard back at all. Their website posted rates and although they may not be the cheapest option, they are trustworthy and it's a good value. They showed up on time and got to work - they'll wrap all your furniture with shrink-wrap and padding, and dismantle shelving, etc. These guys trekked up and down 3 flights of stairs and then moved stuff into the new apartment very quickly. Probably 3 hours getting 2.5 bedrooms out and then 2 hours putting it in the new place. They tell you up front that they tack on 15 minutes for getting to your first place, and 15 minutes for going home, so there are no surprises - besides that half hour, it's just an hourly rate that includes everything (truck, movers, wrapping, etc.). Very friendly and also strong despite not being giant guys. I had a lot of very heavy medium-sized boxes filled with hardcover books, DVDs and CDs but they managed just fine. Did I mention it was 95 degrees? Also, they don't charge extra for having to haul big stuff up like beds and sofas with a rope over a balcony - they did both and they did it super fast. Nothing was damaged. Pay with a check (or cash if you're rolling in dough) -- if you use a credit card they'll tack on 3% I think, but that's on the website ... I guess it's like when some gas stations charge less for cash or more for card, depending on how you look at it. Weekdays are usually cheaper -- save a bit of money like I did! I'm extremely happy with their service. I moved a lot in the recent years and these movers are by far THE BEST I've had. And i used them twice, so my conclusion has been verified :) They are on time, usually even couple of minutes early. They actually move (the stuff and themselves) - they are FAST! They don't drag the time to get more money out of your pocket, they don't take breaks until the job is done. They moved my 1 bedroom apartment from Medford to South Boston (4th floor) in 2 hours! They also don't stop for coffee or lunch during the move unlike some other movers i had. They are always courteous and very respectful. In a nutshell - if you want painless and quick move, hire them. Amazing service. Moved from Boston to NYC with 2 months of storage in between that were extended to 4. Arrived on time, packed everything very carefully, with each and every piece wrapped several times. Very friendly staff, great flexibility to changes and a 5 stars overall. Best service and great price. Three crews came to help and the movers carefully handled the furniture and boxes. I moved from apartment to a private home(elevated from the street) but they did superb job without any damage done.
