I don't think I'll ever use anyone else. When my wife moved out to Framingham from Brookline a few years ago, she used Raimond's and liked them. When we were scouting out movers, grabbed a few quotes and Raimond's came out around the middle pricing. Not low, but not high end (gentle giant, wow), and my wife had used them so figured we'd go with them. Of a note is that their pricing has gone up a fair bit in the past few years, perhaps due to their reputation, costs, don't know what. They came, and cleared out the old place pretty fast. I didn't see them goofing around like I had previous moving companies. Main knock was they left stuff out in the rain, and we had a few things we'd marked as do-not-move, and they moved them anyways. I think some of the movers did not know much English. New place, moved in quickly. We'd labeled everything with where to go, so that made life far easier. We had an issue getting our box spring up, and while they were unable to do it, they tried many more things far more seriously than most other places did. At the end they asked if I had a Yelp account. They seem to take their reputation quite seriously, particularly on Yelp. I'd happily use them again in the future. read more

I can't believe it took me so long to write a review ( I guess I'm bad at yelp) but when I was looking through yelp today, I saw the name and just had to review. Last year, I moved on August 31st/September 1st, also known as the moving day from hell. I paid out the ass to have these guys move me, but it was 100% worth it. I lived on the third floor apartment, and I had to move my things into the basement of my new house while I was technically homeless overnight. They were quick, efficient, polite and careful with my things while they ran up and down the stairs with my (excessive) amount of stuff, drove quickly to my new apartment and unloaded everything just as quickly. When I move again, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to hire them again. The only thing that would make this experience even a little better is a confirmation call a few days before the move. I didn't get one, and was up all night stressed and worried about them showing up in time for me to be out of my apartment on time. read more

Hired Raimond's to move me from Downtown Crossing to the Back Bay this past Saturday 9am. They arrived about 5 minutes late to my old apartment, and when I went down to meet with them, I found them chilling in their truck and eating breakfast. They then asked me if there was parking on the street (no). They were up at my apartment about 10 minutes later, surveyed the room and how much stuff I had, and went back down to their truck to get the moving materials. They actually started moving around 9:30am. I think they schlepped all my boxes in one go, but my furniture (my bed and bureau/dresser) took a very long time for them to deconstruct and transport down. On the other side, they were very good about putting my bed and dresser together again, and being careful not to scratch up either the furniture or the walls of the new apartment. All in all, they were fine, not as amazing as the existing Yelp reviews would have everyone believe but very thorough and very careful with my stuff - wrapped up all my furniture in cloth and plastic wrap! I certainly didn't see them jogging between the truck and the apartment(s), but on the other hand, they were always moving around, doing something. The entire move took about 2.5 hours plus 0.5 hours of travel time; note that credit card transactions they charge 3% extra. No personal checks accepted. I needed packing services and moving services for my 50mi 3brm residential move .... I wasn't expecting a firm fixed price, but I wanted to know all of the potential costs. I vetted 3 moving companies. All of which came recommended highly. Only Raimonds enstilled confidence and transparency about all aspects of the move. Questions I asked were answered directly and completely. Raimond even came out to my house for a walk through. Everything was very professional. One of the other companies I vetted came for a walkthrough and I felt like I was talking to a neanderthal.. he couldn't even tell me what items were included with the hourly packing service fee, he also showed up with his wife/gf, whom sat in the car in my driveway smoking a cigarette..... Raimond himself showed up 10 minutes early, dressed neatly, he knew instantly from walking through my house the extent of work that was required and laid out all of the itemize costs, quickly and to the point. My move came in under budget, quicker than expected, nothing was damaged, all items were placed and assembled where I asked. Absolutely money well spent. Raimonds movers were amazing. They were 1) very responsive and quick in setting up the move. All they needed was a checklist of what you're moving (pictures optional). Also great in communicating their ETA. 2) very fast and efficient. Moved 30 boxes and a 1 bedroom apartment full of furniture in 2 hours. 3) very professional. They disassembled and reassembled any furniture that needed to be dismantled for the move. Everything was carefully shrink wrapped and wrapped in blankets. They clearly made an effort to protect everything. All my items, including unwieldy and fragile bulky items, arrived in pristine condition. They made my move painless! Amazing service. Best moving experience I have had so far...and I've had quite a few. I picked Raimond after scanning yelp and decided to go with them after reading so many great reviews. I was moving my bedroom from my apartment in Boston, to central Connecticut. The two guys were professional and super fast! They were in and out of my apartment (with stairs) in under 45 mins even though my bed takes some time to take apart. But that doesn't mean they aren't careful with your stuff. Everything was wrapped well and handled with care. Same for the unloading in CT. Best of all I was fully expecting to have something break along the way (since it was after all a longer trip) but all my stuff arrived perfectly. First time ever I'm shocked. They do charge the 3% fee when using a credit card but that it listed beforehand online so it's not a surprise. I also liked that everything was online since I like to have email confirmation to refer back to. They reply very quickly to any emails so great communication on their part. Hoping not to move again for a while but I definitely will use Raimond in the future :) read more

Full disclosure, this was the first time I hired movers and I didn't know what exactly to expect, so apologies if this is a little too flowery for more experienced relocators. PROS: - They dismantle, wrap, pack, move, and re-build all furniture with incredible efficiency. I wasn't expecting them to put anything back together once it was in the new place but they basically set up every room for me. - They're FAST. When you pay hourly, it's always a concern that the folks will lack hustle. These guys really moved and I ended up paying very close to the quoted price. They do charge for travel time, so make sure it's as easy as possible for them to park at both locations. - Fair pricing. - Quick responses for quotes and general messages. CONS: - The lead on my job (Raimond himself!) didn't remember that I had paid a deposit, so he charged me the full amount. I had also forgotten that I paid a deposit. That was annoying, but when I reached out, Raimond refunded me the amount of the deposit very quickly. Ended up not being a big deal. read more

This company is fantastic. They were so professional and quick. They didn't lag or move slowly to drag out the hourly charge. They carefully wrapped everything and used blankets to ensure every item was protected. Even in their moving truck they used cords to secure the items so nothing would break. They accept credit card payments! They charge once the move is completed and you are fully satisfied. They will even disassemble and carefully reassemble any furniture you request. Before the move, I was also in constant contact with them. They are incredibly responsive and will work with you to make sure they're being efficient and your needs are met fully. These guys did a very very good job. They were polite, professional, fast and very careful. The only negative I can think of was that the estimate was lower than the actual price but that is probably because I had more stuff than you'd find in an average one bedroom and there was a walk up on the other end of the move. I feel like won the jackpot with these movers. They helped move me from Boston to Washington DC at the beginning of July in sweltering heat (in DC!), but they were nothing but friendly and professional. Like every review has said, they are excellent in communicating with you in each step (like, I knew exactly when they were coming to pick up my stuff in Boston and when they were delivering it in DC). They are very courteous and professional. ALSO: one of my tables had minor damage and they went WAY above and beyond to go to ikea to see if they could replace or offered to pay the difference. What a fantastic group. I am VERY sad that I can't use them again, as I have left the Boston area. I feel like they have ruined me for all other movers, because this moving experience was probably by far the best I have ever had. I wish there was a higher level than "highly recommended". I can't say enough good things about Raimond's Movers. I was moving just my large bedroom on the third floor of a split family house in Somerville to a 2nd floor 1 bedroom around the corner. I had never used a moving company before and Raimonds was recommended by a friend of mine who had moved a month before (she also had stellar reviews for them!). I was super nervous since we had had to maneuver my bed and box spring over our second floor balcony to get it into the house when I had first moved in. It was a disaster and completely overwhelming (lots of swearing and nail biting!), so the idea of getting it out of my bedroom and into my new place was a bit stressful to say the least. The two guys who came to move me did everything so seamlessly and the whole thig was over before I knew it! I started laughing because they made my giant and HEAVY queen bed look like it weighed nothing and like it was no problem to move! They moved quickly and were extremely polite. Total machines and I appreciated that they didn't stop working since I was being charged by the hour. As soon as the clock started running, there was no time wasted. They walked through and I pointed out where I thought there might be problems and they took my concerns into consideration and then got going. I'm still unpacking but all of my stuff looks great and if I ever move again, there's ZERO doubt I will be using these guys again. Also I ended up tipping the guys, but now I wish I would have given even more considering how stress free the whole thing was. :) I also like the website and being an overly anxious person, it was great to get an idea of whether this move would be affordable. I recently relocated from Jersey City to Boston. I was concerned about the price and logistics of a long distance move. From the get-go, I received nothing but exceptional customer service from Raimond and his team. The movers left Boston at 2:30am to make it to Jersey City before NYC traffic hit. I shopped around for a mover for a few weeks before I decided on Raimond's. The sheer number of positive reviews / experience, as well as their prices, left me feeling confident in my choice. Technically I used them twice, on June 8th and June 26th. First they came to my house and moved a lot of furniture into my garage, with some being loaded onto their truck and taken to a self-storage facility. I needed the rooms empty so that I could have an electrician, painters, and carpet cleaners come. As mentioned in other reviews, the guys were young, probably early 20s. They were exceptionally friendly and spent the first 90 minutes working without taking a break for water or anything despite my repeated offers. They worked hard. They moved some very old, very heavy furniture (2 dressers with clothes still in them) after wrapping them very carefully, and made it look effortless. Drago from Rocky comes to mind, but with a much friendlier disposition. Once we got to the storage facility, I showed them the unit and they filled it up. I was skeptical that all the items would fit in a 5x10 but they were confident, and they filled it literally right to the door. When they came back, this time to move the furniture from the garage back to the rooms, they displayed even more remarkable strength because the two aforementioned, clothes-filled dressers were going up to the second floor. They moved them, no scratched or scuffed walls, no furniture or mover falling down the stairs. It was awesome. In my experience, walls always get a bump or ding here and there, but these guys (Eugene, Max, and Ben for the first visit, and Max, Max (yup two of them) and Paul the second time) were exceedingly careful and conscientious. Prices came in under the quotes which were reasonable to start with. Highly recommend Raimond's to anyone looking for a mover. read more

Where has Raimond's movers been all my life? Totally stress-free, I didn't lift a finger, and didn't break the bank, either! For reference, my move was from North Quincy to Beacon Hill with a 500 square foot apartment's worth of stuff + outdoor furniture. The arrival window was slated for 1-4pm. I think they arrived around 3:30 or so, but they called me when they were on their way as well as when they arrived. I was totally blown away by how quickly they worked. My entire apartment's contents and furniture were hauled out and safely loaded into a truck in under 30 minutes. Seriously. They didn't disturb my neighbors, scuff the hallway, or even clog up the elevator. Quiet and quick! When we arrived at my new apartment, my moving permit was totally ignored by drivers. I didn't want to have anyone towed, so they put a cone at the bottom of the street and quickly moved everything out of the truck into the alley I live in. Here's the most amazing part: I was moving into a teeny little hobbit hole. I'm talking a windy staircase, tiny door, etc. Somehow, they manage to slip all my furniture and boxes down there easy peasy. Mind you, I can hardly carry a large pizza down the stairs, THAT is how narrow they are. Not only did they get everything in quickly, but they assembled and arranged everything exactly how I wanted it, including rolling out the carpets, etc. The whole shebang cost about $300. Look no further and hire these guys as they are efficient, hard working, reliable and polite. We moved from the Boston area to the Raleigh, NC area and they did an excellent job. From dealing with Riley on the phone in the office to Alex managing the moving crew. We had them pack our stuff too and they came the day before our move date to start the packing. They didn't break a single plate or glass so they know how to pack well. They put the furniture back together at our new house. They called us when they were two hours out from delivering our furniture etc. These guys are hard working and honest. They may not be the cheapest but to me it was worth it. Raimond's was recommended to me by a coworker who recently moved from Arlington to Sudbury. We were moving less than a mile away from Watertown to Newton, so wanted someone reliable and inexpensive. I got a quote from Gentle Giant - who had moved me the last 2 times I moved - and it was 3x the quote from Raimond's. We went with Raimond and I'm so glad we did! They sent a team of 3 guys who moved very quickly and were very professional and agreeable. In the end, the final cost was even less than the quote. I don't plan on moving again for a very long time, but I would definitely use them again! I moved during what I have heard is the second busiest moving weekend of the year in Boston. Due to my superb planning skills, I began looking to hire a mover less than a week before. I sent in a reservation request and, duh, a company with amazing reviews like this wasn't going to be available at the time I specified. But, I heard back from Raimond himself with the times they could help me. That extra step matters. There was some mild confusion about when they would arrive, but they still called to give me 30 minutes notice and it was within the original timeframe they specified. The job was done quickly, efficiently and carefully. One of the guys even noticed that I wrote "open first" on one of my millions of boxes and put it aside and reminded me about it. I never hired movers before this and now, I don't think I'll ever move in Boston without these guys. read more

Very polite and professional. Came on short notice for a must-do job. My only quibbles are that it was impossible to talk to anyone from the company in advance of the job, and I didn't know if I would get a text message or anything. They did call one hour before, but in general I had no idea what what was going on in advance. Also, they quoted 11:00 to 2:00, and showed up at 1:59. Okay, wow. These guys are as painless, smooth, and easy as it gets. I had all my stuff packed up to go, except for the big furniture (couch, bed, dresser). They aren't the friendliest or talkative bunch, but they know they don't get paid to socialize. They are incredibly fast and efficient, and they are very thorough & good at what they do. Carefully taking the furniture apart, they make sure to wrap everything numerous times with shrink wrap as to not even get a scratch on anything. They also put everything back together again for you exactly where you want it. Their online reservation system is pretty straightforward and easy; they quote you immediately with the price and number of guys they'll be sending, based on the specs you tell them (i.e., # of rooms, room size). Only thing I'd say is that when you do have questions before the move, there never seemed to be anyone in the office or checking email to get back to you. Luckily, I didn't have any major questions, but they didn't finally contact me until the actual day of the move to let me know they were on their way. If you just painted your new house hire these guys to move you in, they were amazing. They were fast, professional, and most important to us, very careful and skilled in bringing our stuff into a new house we just painted and put new floors in. It was NOT an ideal day to move. It snowed the night before, then rained, it was icy and rainy. They put down runners in the new house and I watched as they flew into the house with a heavy dresser without so much as rubbing the door. When they left there wasn't so much as a footprint on the new hardwood. If your main concern is speed, they had that too. They didn't stop for a second, and only took 15 minutes for lunch. They moved our 1,200 square foot house in 5 hours flat. And it was cheap...the best $1,200 bucks We ever spent. read more

These guys are unbelievable. I'm pretty sure they're magical wizards disguised as Russian gymnasts. They got everything out of my old, cramped Somerville two level apartment (successfully navigating piles of crap and surly ex-roommates) in under an hour, packed it neatly and securely in a truck that looked way too small for the job in 30 minutes, and had it in my lovely new place in Eastie in another hour. They didn't try to stretch time, and they charged me very reasonably. It was by far my easiest, least stressful moving experience ever, and I've moved A LOT. These movers are great. They are thorough, competent, hard working and pretty much all I could ask for from movers. The furniture that could not fit in the truck or through the door, they took it apart and reassembled them perfectly at our new home. The only tiny issue we had was that my wife thought one of our leather sofa pillows were scratched and they refused to even acknowledge the possibility that they had done it. As many previous posters have said, they showed up exactly on time, packed everything up gently and nicely. Hiring movers was absolutely worth it -- never again will I bribe my friends with pizza and beer to help me move all my stuff. I was originally told they'd arrive between 10 and 1, which seemed like a very large window of time; they ended up arriving at about 10:30, and called while they were en route to give me a heads up. Once there, they were quick and efficient. When we were at the new apartment, they were great about putting furniture where I requested, and they even put the boxes labeled "kitchen stuff" in the kitchen and so forth. The second one is not as good as the first one. They still keep your things safe and being professional, but they are kinda lazy this time. I had a box of books which was pretty heavy. In the end I still got 10 min left to reach 5 hours (and I paid for 5 hours) but they said you have to unpack the box and bring it up yourself. It's too heavy for us. Except for that everything else was doing great. Just comparing with the first time and the rate they charged me, it cannot be a 5 star this time. read more

Moving day, they were just ten minutes late but rang to let us know. Everything was moved quickly and efficiently. The overs were super nice and friendly. Two or three small scratches on walls/furniture but overall I was very happy and I do appreciate they had a website that let me book. Good value for what we paid and I would recommend them. Plan to use again for next move. Docked one star because: Even though I like their site, it was super hard to actually book the move. They kept pushing me back through the website and the preliminary booking I made kept timing out. Couldn't book by phone or by email. We've moved many times around the country and locally. I don't often write reviews, but it is warranted after our experience. From the first contact, this moving company was "top shelf". They showed up on moving day on time. The person in charge introduced everyone and we then walked through the house. He asked good questions. Once the work started- whoa! Hard, hard workers all. Very professional and cordial as well. They made no messes, scratched, dropped, broke NOTHING. They asked for clarification when needed but actually finished way ahead of schedule packing the truck. A bit of history - I've used Raimond's 4 times total, 2010, 2013, 2014, and 2015. Perhaps best if I chronicle each move for those interested, but the TLDR - "I will use them again next time I move." 2010, My discovery of Raimond's on Yelp, which was well reviewed at the time. Their website needed some work, but I went with them anyway. They arrived on time mid-day, did all the work well, charged a very reasonable price. All their rates are listed on their website, so the astute mover can schedule accordingly and save some money on off-days, if possible. I believe 2 total movers. Pretty much one bedroom, one living room worth of stuff. 2013, I was unable to schedule on an off-peak-pricing-day, so I had to pay a bit more money. Regardless, once again the movers were on time, professional, and nothing was damaged. They take great care wrapping up furniture and helping place it in the new location. In fact, I probably did a below average job putting things in boxes, but they took care of things without complaint. 3 total movers. Two bedroom, Two bathroom move. 2014, Another on-time arrival after they call me to confirm it's okay if they show up a few minutes early. Mid-day. Very similar procedure to last time, prompt, efficient. They help arrange furniture at the new place. 3 total movers. Two bedroom, Two bathroom move. 2015, Raimond's upgraded their website, which is really quite excellent now. I was able to schedule a move with a deposit, never had to talk to anyone until move day. It was scheduled in the morning this time (8am), and they were 45 min late due to traffic after calling to tell me so. It was, after all, rush hour on a Monday, so this seemed like not a big deal and I had no problem with this. 3 total movers, new location was on the third floor, no elevator. Two bedroom, Two bathroom move. They were extremely fast, and lifting boxes that I packed that I considered to myself "maybe this is too heavy with too much stuff in it". They didn't bat an eyelash, however. Moving is a real pain, and I'm glad I've used these guys the past 5 years to take away as much of the pain as I think is possible. I've moved a few times in my life, and most of these times I've had help from my friends. That meant not only packing and unpacking, but also heavy lifting. Well, what a difference this time! It was so nice to have professionals handle it for a change. We've accumulated a lot of stuff over the years and I was afraid, that the move will take the whole day. However, I was pleasantly surprised, when it took only a few hours, and our stuff was handled with care. Moving time is stressful enough.
