On December 10 I had gutters installed. I would not recommend this company to anyone, they do not guarantee their work. They do the job, take their money and they're gone. I called as soon as I noticed what they had done in the backyard. when I called and explained how the installation of that rain gutter piece was a hazard. Vanessa sent me a text message with all caps. Telling me that Kyle will get back to me as soon as he's available, it had been 3 days and I had not heard from him so I reached out again. I left a message and also sent a text message with pictures of how this work was done. The extension is a hazard and is in the way of the sprinkler. My husband is a veteran, and has been diagnosed with Huntington's disease I'm a senior citizen, and they want me to remove that gutter piece. Kyle the sales guy said that it's easily removed. It Just pulls out. No, that is not true. It screwed on. Then Kyle said he's really busy right now, he'll put me on the calendar once he has an available slot. Rain Away installed gutters on the entire perimeter of the house yesterday. We had worried that gutters in the front would make for bad aesthetics, especially since we had the house painted just last week and loved the look of the fascia boards (We hadn't had gutters in the front before). We needn't have worried. The color matches beautifully with the dark fascia boards (and the downspouts with the light stucco), so there's nothing jarring about the effect -- everything blends in. The gutters themselves are smooth and seamless. I had asked Gabriel if they could install a downspout in a particular place to accommodate a potted ficus tree, and he said it wouldn't be a problem. I hired RainAway to install rain gutters on my home based upon recommendations. Jim Prentice (the owner) came to my home, gave me an estimate and scheduled the job. His two-man crew showed up on time for the appointment and began the initial installation process, ladders up, tools plugged in, etc. I then asked one of the crew if they could make a slight alteration to the installation design. He said "no problem". About that time he received a phone call from Jim at the office where they discussed my request. Apparently Jim was not happy with the changes I wanted to make. He jumped in his truck and came storming over to my home. When I told him what I wanted to do, he said "no way....we don't do that". When I asked him why he wouldn't perform the modifications I wanted (when his crew said they could), he just kept repeating "we don't do that" and stormed off the job with his crew and my home a mess. His crew also unplugged my deep freezer to plug in one of their tools without my knowledge completely destroying over $1,000 worth of meats. As he leaves my home he says he's going to "find out more about me". I point out that he obviously knows where I live and has my phone and email information. Really weird right ? Within 30 minutes my phone rings. It's Jim. Now get this...he begins to tell me that he actually CAN do the work with the modifications I'm requesting and quickly emails me a new quote...now $300.00 more than the original price of course. He said he would call me in a few days to see when I would like to begin the work. Now mind you he still wants my business but never apologizes for pulling his crew and leaving my home a wreck. Needless to say I never heard back from him and hired a more professional competitor of his. My advice is to stay far away from Jim Prentice and RunAway from RainAway. read more

I called them out to fix some gutters around a friends office building, they sent out a guy to look at the job and give me a price, the next week they came out and did a very professional install even though the place was big building, they even changed some bulbs in some high light fixtures. Disappointed. That's the only word that I can use to describe the last two weeks, trying to work with Rain-Away. Disappointed because we had a twelve-year history of on-time, workmanlike response from them. Disappointed because, since being told two weeks ago that we would have installation done, it's been one excuse after another. First, it's "We'll be there in the morning". Next morning, 9:15 am, I call. "We'll be there in 15 minutes". I'm home in 12 minutes. Nobody shows. I call. "We came already", they say. Yeah, right. That explains why my gutters are still overflowing. "We'll come back tomorrow". Tomorrow comes. Nothing. I call. Gabriel answers, "We may come later". Conversation heard in the background: "It's not gonna rain for a week, what's the big deal?" Finally: "OK, Saturday morning". Guess what happens Saturday? Nothing. "We'll get to it before it rains". Fast forward to 2 days later. Heavy rain predicted that evening., We've heard nothing. I'm getting concerned. I call. "We're not coming today, call tomorrow. Had a 2:00 PM appointment to have one their guys come to my home and give me an estimate. I left work so that I could meet them at that time. 2:20 PM and still no one shows up. So I call to see what's going on and I get "we're running late...do you want to reschedule?" No apology. No phone call letting me know they will be late. Nothing. I had Raingutters by RainAway installed last year. Installation was uneventful and they looked nice. Since I am not always at this location I didn't know until Jan 14th 2019 when the rains came that the downspout next to the master bedroom headboard pings like freaking bongo drums when it rains. I called. I emailed. I tried the ole sponge in the downspout trick... no luck . After 14 emails for 4 weeks I got a call from Kyle. Trying to call him back the office voicemail was FULL...That is never a good sign. He called me back again saying it must be my fault. Dirty gutters. It's where I told them to put it etc etc etc. He was antagonistic. He finally said he'd send someone out the next week. In the meantime I could not sleep in my bedroom because of the noise. It's been raining a lot for the last 4 weeks. His crew boss called me yesterday and said the same song and dance. I finally blew up. He was so rude to me. Said they would have to charge me to relocate. Finally said he'd come today. He did. Crabby guy wants to know what I want him to do. Fix it?!?!? The actual working crew was a couple of really nice Hispanic fellows. The older smiley one said he had done the original install. He didn't argue just got on the roof and checked things out. After he adjusted a few things I asked the crew boss to run water in the gutter to test for pings. He refused and said they wouldn't be able to replicate it without rain. WTF!!! My neighbor had been over the day before and did exactly that to hear the noise. At that point I knew I had to solve this myself. I asked the nice worker to remove the downspout and connect a short diverter section of the gutter off the roofline to shoot out the water to the side of the house sloped for drainage. The boss argued and argued. I explained no one would be standing there in the rain. It wasn't a problem. He kept arguing. I asked the smiley nice guy if he thought it was a good fix. He said he wasn't the boss. I told him the boss wasn't doing the work, he was, and I valued his opinion. He agreed it would be a workable solution to insuring no more pinging. When asked, the boss said they would remove the downspout and patch the holes from the bolts with silicone. I went inside and they left without saying goodbye or apologizing in any way. I would like to thank the nice worker who fixed the problem. I can finally sleep in my bed when it rains again. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS. read more

We were referred to them by a constructor that did some cement job for us, but once I got hold of Kyle (sales manager) at Rain Away, he was rather unresponsive, not sure if it's because our job was relatively small for them since part of our house already had some gutters before. I got a few other quotes (and some of them took a few weeks just to come out to look at my house; one just texted me some numbers, no diagram or details that Rain Away provided) and decided to go with Rain Away. I tried to book a gutter repair and clean for our apartment complex. Someone came out to provide an estimate, and I was first provided with a quote in October, which we agreed to on Oct 30th last year. Due to high demand, the company told us that it would not happen until early December, which was fine. No-one called in December, but I have called on several occasions this year, starting in January, and each time was told I was on the list, but they'd call me back when the schedule was set. I have never received a scheduling call - it is now May and I assume I have been bumped off the list. I will not be calling back to reschedule, and can clearly not comment on the quality of their work. read more

Company was very responsive when I called to get an estimate on having a corner section of raingutter repaired on a rental. They had someone out within a couple of days and quoted me $190 for 40' of 5" gutter + 2 miters (which I felt was reasonable). I later asked them to seal a corner that was leaking and they said they would do so for just $10 more. Unfortunately, they NEVER SHOWED UP on the day the work was scheduled to happen (11/1/12) and NEVER BOTHERED TO CALL and let me know they were not coming. My tenants were angry, having taken off the day to be home to meet the crew and oversee the work. Company called early the next morning (c. 7:15 a.m. on 11/2/12) with a mediocre apology, saying the crew "got hung up on another job" the day before and asked if they could come out the same day. After getting the OK from my tenants, they said they would be there around 2 p.m. to perform the work which they estimated would take about an hour. I rearranged my schedule to be there around 2:15 p.m. so I could personally inspect the work and pay them. This time they showed up, but around 12:55 p.m., again upsetting my tenants since they weren't expecting them for another hour. By the time I got there, the crew was gone and the work complete, except for the corner that I had asked them to seal and was paying extra for. They faxed me an invoice on 11/5/12 for $200. When I called them today (11/6/12) they said I could just pay the original $190 that I was quoted since they apparently forgot to seal the corner. When I asked if they would consider giving me a discount for all the wasted time, upset, AND incomplete job, they said no; that "their prices are set." Well, my opinion is "set". Overall, I am pleased with the work they did and had planned on hiring them for gutter work on my own house; but after this experience, I'll be finding a different company to give my business to. Leaving someone hanging without so much as a phone call, and not completing the job to boot, is a lack of professionalism that is fit only for...well...the gutter. read more

RainAway was one of the few gutter companies from Yelp and Angie's List who picked up the the phone, answered the initial call and sent out a representative to give an estimate. They had mixed up with the estimate appointment date and rep arrived a week earlier. The rep was professional and gave a clear and concise estimate with the drawing and available options. The crew of 3 installers arrived late yet did overall a good job installing the gutters. With that said, I was supervising and did point out a few mistakes which were quickly corrected. There was a leak which developed during the heavy rain and was repaired after my follow up call to the company. Overall good customer service and fair price. read more
