There's a clear sign posted near the payment kiosk in each bay that walks you through each step with infographics.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Basically, you turn the dial on the payment kiosk to each function in the order listed and it turns on that function (high pressure soap, foam brush, high pressure rinse, low pressure wax, rinse again, dry). You do that step, check the infographic, switch the dial, and do the next step. + [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a card reader at EACH payment kiosk. Works like a charm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] + [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a clear timer that shows the number of minutes you have left so you can check at any time and regulate how fast you're going. The timer sounds an ongoing chime at 60 seconds to let you know you need to hustle.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] + Pressure is outstanding. Honestly, I thought this made washing the car hella fun. (Never thought I would say this.) + Everything just works! The setup is super efficient and each piece of equipment worked without fail. Not sure why I ever paid up to $16 for car washes at gas stations. Also, given that we have two EV's, will be visiting Rainbow much more regularly. There's something to be said for sh*t that just works and works well. Note: I arrived at 7:55 am on a Thursday in March, and there were 4 bays open. No wait! I paid for $12 worth of time because I was nervous but I think I could have gotten the job done (minus dry) in less time. read more

I had not cleaned the interior of my 2017 RAV4 for a few years. My car has fabric upholstery and has been collecting food stains and dirt from my small child. Long time customer and grateful this business survived the covid slowdown. The management has posted new signs - there is a price increase so youll get approx. 7.30 mins for $10 (tokens) if I remember correctly. Happy to absorb this since the place is kept working like clock work. The self-serve car wash is open all day, every day but note that it gets busy if you do not go early, like before 8 am or after 7 pm on the weekends. I typically get there before 8 am and be done by 9, that's including wash, dry, vacuum and the interior leather treatment. They have the electronic credit card tap payment system installed on the islands now but I still use the tokens, because it is a better deal, I believe I get 4 free tokens for $20 I put into the feeder. read more

I like that they keep it up to date and that it's open for self use 24/7. The water pressure is effective and some bays have hot water! Also, a few days ago, I noticed that the foam brush I was using had some grease/oil that left some difficult smudges on my white car. I brought my 2014 camry, which was NEVER detailed till date and was dirty as hell. the Interior detailing done here was absolute top notch. my car is now just like when it was new. every nook and corner was cleaned and the attention to detail was obvious. very nicely done. i had also requested that the stickers be removed from the windows, and it was done and the glass is very clean now. Took a Targa GTS there for detailing. Targa tops are easy to ruin at about $12K for a replacement. I was concerned and mentioned it. They took care of it. $250k car no issues, they did right by me. Highly Recommend because it's just not that easy to find places that cater to bespoke cars. Reasonable prices...but not for the gas station, car wash crowd. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Appointments are usually required for the detailing service[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But, they do have several self-service & large SUV bays for people to wash their own cars. Thanks for the offer to provide some tokens, I did take advantage of it. With respect to the wax dispenser, I've tried it several times and because of the low pressure, it takes 20 seconds to start dispensing any wax. I realize the old setting was maybe too much but if you can set the pressure to in between (original and current), users would get wax to dispense on the vehicle in less than 10 seconds and would be able to cover the vehicle within one minute. Right now I am spending an additional 30% more money to clean my vehicle than was the case 6-9 months ago. read more

Came here at 7pm on a Tuesday to wash my very dirty car after a long road trip. It was my first time here but it seemed fairly easy to understand. I paid cash as they give you bonus tokens for cash. $1 = 1 token, $5 = 5 tokens, $10 = 11 tokens, $20 = 23 tokens as of September 28, 2021. You need $5 to start the wash machines and $2 to start the vacuum machines. I put in 5 tokens to start and after just starting on the foam brush, had to add more tokens. Next time I'll just directly add 10 tokens when the car is this dirty. I didn't fully get all the bugs off, but I also didn't scrub with the brush or my wash mitt enough and I don't blame them for that. The wand had plenty of high pressure water coming out of it, foam brush had plenty of foam, and the spot free rinse was low pressure clean water that I was able to wipe dry easily. I didn't use the wax or the dry cause I ran out of time and had towels to dry anyway. The vacuum was also very strong and worked great for me. I only needed the 2 tokens required to start to vacuum the entire car. I'd definitely come back! I wish it wasn't 5 tokens to start the wash machine, but I understand that they have their costs as well. Definitely will come back since washing cars at home with fresh water is a waste of clean water even though it is cheaper. One thing I did notice is the wash/soap option just had water come out, no soap. Not sure if it's supposed to have soap or not. read more

Great place to wash your car! The pressure washer gun is plenty powerful enough, and you can change the settings by turning the dial to pre-rinse, soap (comes out of the gun), spotless rinse, etc. The product is fairly effective and the system is pretty easy to figure out for first timers. But I don't recommend using the giant broom brush thing, unless you don't mind scratching up your paint. It costs a dollar per minute with a minimum of 5 minutes to start, and if you decide to increase your time, you need to do so before the running time runs out. It takes me 7 minutes from start to finish (I pull my car out of the way to hand dry / wax it afterwards) on a sedan. Facility is aging but well maintained. Can get pretty busy on weekends and weekdays after work. Overall, this place is convenient and a fair value. Would recommend! read more

This is the only RV van self wash that had enough clearance in the Southbay that I could find. My van stands about 9' 6" and there was room to spare. The 2 middle bays have higher clearance so keep that in mind. $6 to start for 6 minutes, and one can purchase more time for $1 per minute. I brought my own soap, bucket, scrubber with extension handle and towels. Recommended for class B RV's. read more

Ah, Yelp was asking me if they are reliable, well, I only used the pay per minute machine wash, so never interacted with anyone there. I haven't used a per minute pay wash in 20 or more years, but was the only local choice I could find to do an underbody spray on our SUV after a Tahoe trip. I had my son work the coins and switch the spray types at the controller while I crawled under and over the SUV. Took an old yoga mat to lay on and a step ladder to get up top. Spent $15 of coins and with pretty decent results. There was still some sort of film-haze left on the car after spraying with both the hi-pressure soap and hi-pressure rinse. That's ok. Will get that on my next regular wash at Tan's Touchless. Main reason I came was to do the underbody spray and the soap spray worked well to remove the salt/ice melt and crud from under the car. Only used the one hi-pressure nozzle and it worked well. Used the cash to token vending machine in front with no problem. Will be back when have to do this again. read more

I always wanted to get my Acura TL professionally detailed but did not know what to expect. I called a few days in advance to book an appointment for interior detail. Interior + Exterior combo is $300. Each one individually is $200. I opted for the latter. On the day of the appointment, something came up so I called to let them know I will be 20-30 minutes late. They seem very accommodating about it and thanked me for letting them know. Thirty minutes later, I met with Brian at the front counter where he drafted the receipt and gave me the carbon copy. He did inform me the job will take 3-4 hours. I came back near closing time and briefly met Brian again. He asked me to check out the car if everything is okay. A Hispanic gentleman helped me with payment and off I went! This is my first time going to a professional detailer and needless to say, the whole experience is smooth and better than expected! However, one thing they did forget to wipe down was backside of the storage lid just underneath the center dash. There was some sticky, soapy residue left behind. I am not complaining since these things happen, no one is perfect. Leather seats and carpet are cleaned. All the dirt in the cracks and crevices are gone. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the results. This is saying a lot coming from an OCD type of person like myself. I will definitely be bring my other vehicles here in the future. read more

There's a handful of stalls to wash, and the color concept is cute, the lines tend to add up and shrink pretty quick, so if you see a long line just go buy some Starbucks and come back in a half hour honestly, the only time that might not work is busy weekends. If you do the full wash with air and vacuum it'll end up costing $20+. There are some auto-washers cheaper, but if you prefer doing it by hand this is a good stop, partially just because there aren't a lot like it in the area though. I pretty much always take my car here, I enjoy washing it myself and not having to interact much. It's easy to follow and does what it's supposed to do. read more

I've discovered a new sport - Competitive Car Washing. I'm having trouble convincing the International Olympic Committee to accept it into the 2016 Summer Games, though. The Need for Speed: Rainbow Car Wash is a self-service car wash that charges by the minute, hence the need for speed and good technique (if you care about saving money). This place is great if your car just needs a moderate washing and you're not picky about perfection, but for a car that needs a lot of work, you might want to go to a place that charges a fixed price. The Rundown: There are six wash bays, each equipped with a handheld sprayer, foam brush and air dryer. Which of these is currently active is controlled by a dial on a token-operated console on the wall. The minimum to start is 3 tokens which will get you 5 minutes, and each subsequent token adds more time. The console will start beeping when there's a minute left. Tokens can be bought at a rate of $1/token with a credit card. Alternatively, you'll get 11 tokens for a $10 bill, or 23 tokens for a $20 bill. My $6 Technique: I can usually get a decent wash using 6 tokens, provided my car isn't too dirty. First, I put in 3 tokens, turn the dial to "Rinse", and quickly rinse down my car using the soapy water that comes out of the sprayer. Then I turn the dial to "Foam Brush", grab the foam brush, and proceed to scrub and completely cover my car with soapy foam. The latter is not hard to do, since the brush spits out a LOT of foam. This part is key - I completely cover my car with foam until the timer runs out. After that, I have all the time in the world to really give my car a good scrub with the brush, without being frantic about the clock ticking over my head. After I feel like my car has been scrubbed enough (or my arms are tired out), I'll put in 3 more tokens and rinse off my car with the sprayer. I just use the "Normal Rinse" (or whatever it's called) option, since the "Wax" option is just a stream of water with some liquid wax mixed in, and the "Spot-Free Rinse" option gives me a very weak stream, neither of which I find particularly useful. After a good rinse, I'll turn the dial to "Dry", grab the air dryer and blast the water off my car. The dryer doesn't work too well, so I make sure to have some towels on hand for all the remaining wet spots. In the end, the wash isn't perfect and lacks a decent coat of wax, but for the price I'm not complaining. read more

Super place to get your car cleaned in under 6$. This was my first time getting my car cleaned here. I've been to places where you pay like 13 dollars and just wait till your car is cleaned and you dont always get the car as clean as you want it(grease stains, dirty cloth marks) Go to the coin machine, put 1,5,10 dollar bills(1$ per coin, each coin gives a minute), go to the car cleaning station, put the dollars in the machine, turn the knob to what you want to do(rinse, soap clean, low pressure rinse, dryer etc.). You can switch to something else anytime as long as you have time left on the machine, Minimum for the machine is 3 coins. I was able to get my car rinsed, soap washed, rinsed again and dried in 6 mins. Another 10-15 mins to wipe it down. I don't see any reason why not to give this place 5 stars ! read more
