I haven't been here in a while and I pass by it quite often. They have long hours: 5am-10pm, so they can serve a lot of people. Rainbow was recently added to the Too Good To Go app, so I decided to grab donuts one evening on my way home. Pickup process was easy and the employee was friendly as I got my box to go. When I opened the box at home, I was pleasantly surprised with how many were inside: 14 regular sized and 9 glazed munchkins. There was a variety of flavors: frosted, glazed, cream and jelly filled, cruller, cake, etc. The ones I sampled were all fresh and tasty. Would definitely recommend this local business! read more

Woke up way too early on a weekend, so I decided to try this donut Cafe and deli that was already opened around 6am. Ambiance-wise, it's your classic donut shop -- cozy and straight to the point. The service was good. There was a tiny mix-up with my Vietnamese coffee order (I got charged for a large instead of a small), but honestly maybe the universe knew I was in for a long day. I ordered assorted donuts and WOW! These things are HUMONGOUS - Fluffy, sweet, and super satisfying for my sweet cravings! While waiting, I met a regular who comes here for breakfast all the time and was genuinely so kind, which made the whole experience even sweeter. The staff was also really nice and accommodating. Tons of parking (I mean, it was 6AM on a weekend lol), and I even noticed a security car in the complex, so safety is clearly a priority. Now, let's talk about the Vietnamese coffee... it is STRONG strong. I felt the caffeine kick after three sips, so I'd definitely recommend sticking to a smaller size unless you can truly handle your caffeine. Overall, I'd absolutely come back -- especially to try their savory items/deli side. Love that it's open so early for mornings like this. Great service in a non-impressive shopping strip center. Easy to get to off of the I17 and Thunderbird on the west side of the highway. The sweet lady with the cool apron always throws in some donut holes and I love the selection. They are freshly made and generously sized. My favorite is glazed donuts. The stuffed ones are good too though I wish they had powered with chocolate inside (hint hint). Worth the visit! read more

I headed to Rainbow Donuts on a recent Sunday morning as it was the closest decent looking donut spot in the area... I am admittedly spoiled by going to Bosa near my house and didn't realize how different this experience would be compared to what I'm used to... On a positive note, there was easy parking. Unfortunately when I walked in, the place seemed a bit worn and dirty and there was only one person working and she was in the back, so we had to wait a bit before she came up front to help me and another customer. The bottled beverage fridge was also a bit underwhelming and the sparkling water I grabbed from it was cold but a bit filthy as if it had been sitting there for a long time. I ordered a couple of glazed donuts for my kids to-go and would have ordered something for myself, but nothing looked very appealing. I went to use the bathroom but there was a sign on the door that said "out of order." When I did bring the donuts to my kids, my daughter enjoyed her donut but my son (who usually inhales multiple donuts in a sitting), took two bites and said he didn't want any more. So... my experience definitely could have been better. I'll probably pass on this place in the future. read more

I've lived by this place for years and finally decided to order a few breakfast burritos for myself and my husband since they were open so early. Oh my Lord these are the best breakfast burritos I have ever had-bacon, egg, cheese and potato was absolutely perfect the bacon wasn't just the fatty part of the bacon like many places, it wasn't filled with just eggs or potatoes, they were perfect!! We've come back for breakfast burritos 3 more times and each time they're absolutely delicious! And reasonably priced as well! The only downside is that I waited so long to try this place considering I live so close! Plenty of parking, they do carry out if you call in your order and they're ready in like 5minutes it's phenomenal. It's a cute little privately owned spot, not some corporate/chain place which I also love. I'm going to have to call in another breakfast burrito order after this review because now I'm craving them! We have been getting some delicious breakfast burritos, donuts, sandwiches and french fries since the re-opened after the remodel. The new owner is really friendly and efficient and working hard to build the business. I can call in an order of sandwiches for lunch and she has them ready ten minutes later. She is making breakfast and lunch affordable $7.49 is a great price for a fully loaded sandwich with your choice of breads. I am glad that someone that actually cares has taken over. read more

I've lived in the area for some time now , and over the years the quality of donuts here IMO has declined tremendously. Donuts are greasy , as well as the overall dough texture and flavor . We have been coming to Rainbow Donuts for many years and have always loved their donuts! Some of the best in the valley, in my opinion. We have ordered them for our birthday party desserts several times. We love that it's so easy to place an order in advance and the orders are always on time. We also pick up a lot on weekends and we love their variety. We typically bring our food home to eat, but the inside is nice too and would be a fun place to catch up with a friend. My favorite donut place! Fresh and the nicest people work here. I'm not sure if this is something to brag about but I eat donuts here weekly. They are such a special treat and make any day better. I've had most every donut they sell and my favorites include; extra big fritter, coconut glazed, Boston cream and chocolate holes. They sell something very wonderful here for hot dog fans (yes please!) called kolaches. I've only found these in Texas and Louisiana so it's something truly unique! After picking up our grandson from school this last week, we decided to buy some donuts. So we went to this particular Rainbow Donuts on Thunderbird Road, it was 2:50 pm - walked up to the door with a big OPEN sign that said they were open until 5:00 pm that day. The doors were locked and lights shut off. We were all disappointed and confused as it was a weekday with an open sign but clearly closed. As we got back in our vehicle- an older couple walked out of the business and drove off alongside us. Why didn't they post a sign to say they were closing early or go to the door to tell us that they were sorry for closing early? Regardless, we will be sure and not return. This is an awesome donut place tucked in a random plaza. I love visiting Rainbow Donuts in the early morning to pick up a dozen or two for my co-workers. Everything is always very fresh when picked up, and there's never a left over donut at work - definitely a great indicator. The staff is very friendly and patient when I am picking out the donuts. Love that they offer more than just donuts too. We've had the breakfast burritos awhile back, and they were a bit salty, but still a great grab and go option when you want to hit the road. Love being able to support these local shops over big chains. If you live in the neighborhood, they typically send deals/coupons. Can't go wrong with Rainbow donuts! The only thing they can do to get even more rave reviews is put some vegan donuts/options on their menu!!! ;) read more

Food is reasonably price, place was clean, and those working the counter were both pleasant and patient. It is so hard to order at a new place when you're being rushed to order. Not here, which is great! Excellent selection of donuts, but taste was average. Breakfast sandwiches (egg, sausage and cheese on a croissant, and potato, egg, and cheese burrito) were tasteless and somewhat cold. Would try it again for a different choice in donuts. I was curious to see that they serve other breakfast items besides just donuts, so we wanted to try it all out. It's a clean corner store within a strip mall. It was a Saturday morning and while the line of customers was consistent, most were getting donuts to go so there were plenty of tables available inside. Donuts: they have a great variety of donuts, cake and traditional style, with lots of topping choices including fruit loops and fruity peoples, or even gummy bear long johns. Great if you want to get an assortment of donuts that aren't super basic. Scrambled eggs: large portion, average taste, good price (only $3 for eggs alone). Breakfast Burrito: bacon, egg, cheese and potato. The burrito itself was huge, but consisted of mostly egg. It was pretty average, I'm not sure I'd order it again. It's nice that you have the option of some breakfast items that aren't sweets though to balance out your meal. The prices are extremely affordable. We got three donuts, a milk, scrambled eggs and a breakfast burrito for less than $14. And the portions are large when it comes to entrees. Staff working was very friendly and willing to help. Overall, I'd recommend this place for the donuts and would likely come back just for them. If we had just had donuts my rating might be slightly higher. When you ask and it says per your menu board it should be this she says that's your price now get out. Sign says help wanted so I had my gf call when I left. Best donuts in Phoenix! We usually go to the Cave Creek St location. Better get in there early as this place sells out fast on any given day. Excellent Chocolate + Maple bars, the Cinnamon roll is one of the fluffiest I've ever had, and the red velvet + blueberry donuts were surprisingly bright! Their classics as well as their premium cereal topped treats are always as delightful as the two women running the space whenever I visit. (I get my car maintained across the street at Greasemonkey and usually taje the techs something from here). There's hand sanitizer stations setup through out, everyone was masked + gloved, indoor space was limited and they have a safe setup for check out with plexiglass.
