I tasted the macaroni, pickle half and chocolate chip cookie. I can tell the ingredients are all good quality. I gave them five stars for the staff being so kind. On my hunt to find the best grilled cheese and tomato soup combo, we decided to give The Melt a try. Looking at the photos and reviews, I knew we were in for a treat! Unrelated to the restaurant, but parking at this center is a nightmare. Perhaps it was super busy as it was a Sunday afternoon, but we struggled to find parking. Never any fun in the AZ summer heat. Luckily, the restaurant had a really good AC system, so we were comfortable again within a few minutes. There are ordering machines at the front where you can order and customize each item as much as you'd like. Upon checking out, there are numbered buzzers you plug in to tie with your order and they'll go off when your order is ready. Service was quick, our order was ready in less than 10 minutes from ordering. We both opted to get grilled cheese sandwiches and split the tomato soup and fries. The sandwich was soooo cheesy and buttery, I was in heaven! The soup was also very creamy and paired well with the grilled cheese (duh!). There weren't any frills with the grilled cheese, but sometimes simplicity is better than too many frills! The fries were nice and crispy, plus well seasoned. Right before finishing our meal, the employees brought us over free oven warm chocolate chip cookies over for dessert- so good!! The sweet potato fries were really good, but I wish they had various dipping sauces like they have at Hopdoddy Burger Bar. Like, horseradish sauce or honey mustard or whatever. The man who waited on me gave me ranch, which is better than ketchup but not as good as dipping sauces made for sweet potato fries. The burger was just ok. The cheese had a rubbery stringy consistency and felt like super processed cheese, and the burger wasn't pink in the middle, like the posters on display claim (which is why their burgers are better, supposedly). I'd heard about this place when I was at Salt & Straw in Tempe a few months ago. They have a location near there and closer to me in the formerly PV mall area. I was in the mood for cheesy goodness so I checked out their menu. If you sign up for their rewards program, you get free fries. So I signed up! I also got their side of mac & cheese since I wasn't in the mood for a full portion. I ordered online and drove over. I found parking in front of the restaurant and headed inside. Only a few people dining inside with plenty of seating. I picked up my order from the register and headed home. I ordered their garlic Parmesan fries and they were tasty. Topped with their Melt sauce, Parmesan cheese and garlic, it was flavorful but almost too much. Very salty which I usually appreciate but I ended up mixing in the leftover topping to my pasta. The Melt is a perfect neighborhood place. The burgers are incredible and definitely messy in the best way possible. Chicken sandwich was a little dry but not as good as the burgers. I had the spicy double and lived it with the fresh jalapeños. The fries were not as crispy and topped with some green herbs. Not sure I enjoyed it with the herbs. The sodas were perfect craft sodas and not your typical Coke or Pepsi. I would've given the place a 5 stars but I saw an employee take the quarter sheet pans in which the burgers were placed from the garbage drop off area and just wiped the surface and put back into inventory for new customers. The sheet pans weren't even put through the dishwasher for cleaning and sanitizing. I'm not so sure this is regular practice but someone needs to evaluate the cleaning process before a diner gets sick. read more

The three cheese grilled cheese sandwich was the bomb too! Garli/parm fries were very flavorful! The root beer was really good. It was our first time there, and we're glad we went. Our family visited the Tatum Blvd store on 12/24 for lunch. This is a walk up order at the counter place with buzzing coasters when your older is ready to pick up. Orders were accurately recorded by the cashier, who was very patient with the five of us and several special requests. But kitchen accuracy missed the mark, and two of our five burgers were missing ingredients. We did not ask for the missing ingredients, just ate our burgers anyway. We ordered one double melt, one double BBQ melt, two single spicy missions and a single original melt with four sides and two drinks for $88. Trays with burgers had mixed up side dishes but we figured it out. One Spicy Mission burger was lettuce wrapped by request, but a single thin leaf didn't hold up well to this juicy patty. And they are thick third pound patties, I didn't need a double and my giant sons had trouble finishing their doubles. Burgers tasted awesome, pink juicy and well seasoned. Lots of cheese, gooey and drippy. The sweet potato fries were very good, although I will hold the unexpected cinnamon sugar next time since I dip them in ranch. Ranch dressing was homemade and excellent. Mini Mac and cheese was a big hit with college son. Regular fries were devoured but still need to try to Parmesan ones! I think the regular fries have just salt and parsley on them, not any flavoring. Not sure why I tipped 15% on our $87.88 bill, because we picked up our own food and bussed our own table. If I thought the tip was to ensure an accurate order, it failed. This is not a bargain place but the meat and ingredients are very good quality. The filtered water at the soda dispenser was even good! A team member brought us a cookie, cut in four (we are a party of five but I am gf) which was nice. Bathroom floor is surprisingly dirty for a new restaurant. Otherwise the restaurant seemed clean and neat. We went to the Melt for their soft opening neighborhood night. It's a casual, fast food style restaurant that lives up to its name with lots of cheesy options! Grilled cheese, cheese burgers, mac n cheese, cheddar fries, and parmesan fries. We had friendly service and it was very clean. I ordered the Italian Job grilled cheese, which sounds like it would be filled with Italian meats, but it's actually vegetarian with mushrooms and Italian cheeses. I would probably change the name to something different. It was good! My husband and a friend both got the Patty Melt grilled cheese and loved it. My kids had the kids cheeseburgers and they were a big size for a kids burger. We tried the sweet potato fries and the garlic parmesan fries, garlic parm for the win! They were delicious! My daughter loved the real cane sugar sodas too. Melt is definitely comfort food, so if you're looking to indulge this is the place. I added jalepenos and tomatoes to mine plus the seasoning and it totally added. Amazing dipped in the soup. And loved how the toast was garlic toast as well. This has to be one of the best spots around the pv mall. The restaurant is clean, staff is super friendly and more than anything their food is great! This is my third time ordering from them and each time is better. The burgers are great but steak and cheese is the best sandwich in town - it's like a Philly cheese steak but on grilled cheese bread. Derek went above and beyond with his customer service. He checked in on our meal and even brought over some samples of their cookies. It feels so rare to find this type of customer service at a faster food spot like this but they are amazing here. I didn't know what this place was going to be like but the neighborhood that it's in is very high scale. When I went in I found that the manager was quite friendly and personable. I had never eaten at this place but he gave me recommendations and was very helpful. The place was very clean and people in the restaurant seemed happy and enjoying their food. I had the bacon cheeseburger and french fries and it was amazing! The manager is so helpful also that he came over and knew it was my first time and gave me a warm chocolate chip cookie on the house. I had mentioned that I was looking at one of their famous shakes and he's like yeah let me get that started for you. At that point I went up to pay for it and he says nope this is on me! The Melt was chosen after we built an appetite at Activate. The menu was just what we wanted. Good burgers...we'll, a bacon cheeseburger for me, a double bacon cheeseburger for the 14yo, and Italian for the wife (melted cheese with mushroom sandwich. My burger was delicious and I also got the bacon mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was incredible, I love the flavors together. The kid at 14 ate his plain burger in some kind if record time... how do they do it...? The wife did enjoy her Italian while she blatantly stole bites of my mac...
