Cheba Hut is one of our office favorites. With such a wide variety of subs and desserts, it's hard not to keep coming back for more. I ordered the Pacific Blue (tuna salad) in the 8-inch size, and it was more than enough--plenty left over for a later snack or dinner. And how could I forget the pickle chips? As a pickle lover, these were a highlight for me--crispy, tangy, and perfectly seasoned. In addition to the sub and pickle chips, I devoured most of a chocolate chip cookie and a corner of a Rice Krispy treat. The Rice Krispy square tasted like Froot Loops, and the cookie was incredibly soft and chewy with big chunks of chocolate. I loveee Cheba hut, it's hands down my favorite sandwich place. The garlic herb bread is what makes is so unique in my opinion, it's the best thing here. The sandwiches are all so delicious, my favorite is the Kali Mist and pricing is pretty reasonable. I love a good toasted sub, and this place was nice and clean and didn't have to wait long. We have this close to our house . We like this place but they are getting chintzy on the ingredients on the sandwiches. Not good . If you take off an ingredients like horseradish and add mayonnaise they charge you 50 cents unless it's under special requests FYI. We went with the Thai Stick and the Dank. Two sandwiches (one 12 inch, one 8 inch) was $35 ish which I guess is expected these days. So glad Cheba Hut opened on this side of town! My first visit was to their Glendale location as it is close to work. Otherwise the closest one is in Tempe so this is much more convenient. I love how the rest of the shops in this area have white lettering for their signs but CH said nah, we're going with our signature green and orange. We came for their 420 celebrations where they were offering nugs for $4.20. It was pretty busy but there is a lot of seating, including the patio where we sat. We got their KGB, Jamaican red, and Kali mist (no bacon). I tried the KGB and it was fine, I'm just not a horseradish fan. The Jamaican red was delicious, wish it was spicier but it was flavorful. The Kali mist was tasty as well, even reheated the next day. Service was friendly and quick and I look forward to coming back! They have a rewards program too but I didn't get my points so I'm waiting to hear from them. read more

Great toasted subs and a lot of different choices of both subs and chips. There's an actual bar on one side of the restaurant and they actually have a happy hour. The other side is booths. There is also a patio. The decor is interesting and not our thing as it heavily promotes marijuana and the music was loud and we could hear the people in the bar area shouting over it. I've been waiting patiently for this location, less than five miles from my house, to open and get itself sorted out. It was worth the wait! Normally I have to drive to downtown Phx to get my Cheba on. This location is going to crush my wallet! While my favorite item on the menu was removed during pandemic days (hummus sandwich - I forgot the old name), I can still get the same item by removing the guac from the Power Plant. I don't know what they do to them, but the combo of veggies, hummus and dressing hits my sandwich spot straight on! I think it's the pickles... I just always want them to put more hummus on since it's the "meat" for a vegan! They did a pretty good job with it this time, but I still wanted more of course. The new location is in a large strip mall area, so there's plenty of parking (unlike the downtown location). The space itself is a bit small. The line was to the door, and the bar area was pretty packed at 12:30 on a Friday. I'm glad they're starting off with great demand and hope they can keep up with it! The order took as long as expected - maybe five minutes - to be ready. It's what I typically expect at Chebas since they toast 'em. And - the most exciting part of my first visit to this location - while I was in line, the manager (I guess) came up and said "Five dollar Friday!" and gave us all $5 bills! He explained that he does this instead of stupid coupons, etc. It hit my head like a mallet - wow - actually rewarding the people who go to your place already - what a concept! I loved it! First time in last night . Ordered a large sub that had turkey and bacon. The quality of turkey was extremely processed and the bacon was thin and 95% fat. The sandwich was oddly not filling and while it tasted good, it was mainly bread. I would definitely opt to make one at home next time before going back. I've tried a few of the subs but honestly love the G7 on Garlic bread; it has a slightly spicy mayo to give this turkey/roast beef mashup a kick! 1/18/25 FOOD POISONING ALERT, both my wife and I got it. Got the kali mist and g-13 causing me to be hospitalized the following morning and my wife shortly after me. I ordered 2 sandwiches online (Dank and Power Plant). They completely got the power plant sandwich wrong. I asked for olives to not be on the sandwich and the sandwich was full of them. I paid extra for the Giardiniera peppers and they were no added. I asked for Ranch to be on the sandwich which I also paid for and that was no on there. There was no cucumbers or jalapeños either. Lastly, I ordered 2 drinks, one blue and one red kool-aid and I received 2 blues. It seems as though whoever made the sandwich was just lazy because they got part of the sandwich right and didn't care to get the rest correct. It's disappointing as this location is extremely far from my house so it's not like I can drive back to have them get it right. I work nearby and go here for lunch usually Monday and Friday and have brought clients for lunch. I've tried them for dinner afew times with my family and it's not the same. The music is inappropriate and to loud for a family environment and the staff is horrible it to much of a teen party spot and that's just the employees. We've had cheba hut catered a few weeks ago and it was amazing, it's seems hit or miss depending on who is staffed. Ill definitely keep cheba hut in my lunch rotation. I can offer a suggestion, better supervision in the evening hrs diners want good food and service plus a comfortable spot to relax and eat not a bunch of staff running around cussing and being annoying. read more

From the pictures I reviewed, I came to a likely conclusion. The meat/bread ratio was likely going to be under whelming and it was. The bread is simply the best in the biz, the veggies were cold and crisp. If I had this business I would have every cashier ask "would you like to double the protein for 2.00" or whatever that price needs to be. Cool place.
