We love this family owned restaurant. The food is good, fresh and to order. There is a breakfast bar for reasonable as well. We usually go for a late breakfast. The service is personal, and friendly. It's a relaxed atmosphere where we feel we have been taken back to younger years when personality counts and hospitality is still alive. Prices are reasonable, coffee is good. This is mostly a breakfast place, as they are open only until noon. The prices really can't be beat, unless you cook at home. My server was super nice & very attentive. I had two eggs, a sausage patty, a biscuit, and gravy. The sausage wasn't overdone. The biscuit was crispy on the outside & super fluffy inside. The gravy was some of the best breakfast gravy I've ever had. My eggs were perfectly over medium. The coffee was hot, fresh, and very good. Easy in and out with a friendly staff. They have a breakfast buffet but we opted for selections from the main menu. The diner is covered in photos from past and present customers. The decor has not changed in a very long time but the food is pretty good. We had a variety of dishes from grits, shredded potatoes, biscuits and gravy, chicken biscuit and ham and cheese biscuit. They were all pretty good. You can't beat the prices and the kitchen is fast. They offer a popular drive thru as well if you do not want to come into the dining room. read more

The server was really nice and attentive but this establishment is unsanitary. The moment you step out your car you notice the pavement is covered in cigarette buts... the kitchen staff sit by that side door and just smoke... we should've left after noticing that but this is a local staple so I had to give it a try! My husband and I sat down and immediately noticed dead flies in the window seals... the buss tub with dirty dishes is directly next to the buffet of fresh food... I'm not sure how they passed a health inspection... My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy with a fried egg. The gravy is definitely pre bagged and warmed, the biscuits are also pre bought and stale with a weird after taste... I ordered cheesy eggs and grits... My eggs were not real eggs. It was liquid egg out of a bag... It's a cheap place to eat but expect food poison or diarrhea afterwards. We immediately felt disgusted by our food and will not go back. read more

Old charming country style restaurant on the side of the road, that has nice staff, plenty of menu items and a buffet. I had the country ham biscuit and it was perfect to start the day. The guys bellied up to the buffet and raved about the bacon and enjoyed the apple butter. They had French Toast sticks and bologna options. Food was decent and well priced, but it was very slow to get breakfast, and food came warm. It took us almost an hour to get eggs, sausage, and waffles on the table. They are short staffed so this may not be indicative of normal service. The waitress was awesome though, she stopped by briefly to talk about our trip to the Smokies. Well, after wanting to try The Rainbow Family Restaurant I can finally say been there done that. Stopped this morning for breakfast. Our waitress met us with an extremely friendly demeanor, a smile, and a good strong cup of coffee. While the Breakfast Buffet appeared stocked and ready to eat, My Wife and I both ordered the Breakfast Special. Two eggs, biscuit or toast, and gravy or grits for $3.49. I had it with sausage, My Wife had bacon, and we both had a biscuit and gravy. Nothing special here, the eggs, biscuits, and country gravy were all fine. I only got one small patty of sausage which was definitely from frozen and probably pre-cooked. The coffee kept coming and the friendly service was there throughout the meal. We definitely didn't leave stuffed but we were satisfied and not disappointed that we stopped. Considering what you can get for $3.49 anywhere else in this world, this was a damn good value for a decent meal. read more

Decided to try again.......still only 1 waitress and the place was really busy. Coffee pot is visible and people were getting up refilling there own cups.
