We purchased a pair of running boards for our new truck and brought it in for a quote to install. Bill inspected it and Jesus was our service guy. He told us that the truck didn't have any screw holes already on the truck and that THEY would have to screw them and that would make it a "customized" job since the boards couldn't just be added. All holes already installed by manufacturer and ready for install we knew before going in and couldn't believe they lied to our face. read more

Apparently this place that I have gone to for years is under new ownership. My $74 (after tax & fees) oil change comes to $101?! I understand the additional $11 for the 2 quarts of oil while diagnosing it. But the math isn't mathing. $74 +11= $85. My car now requires a special $9 oil filter now (since when) and there is a $2 shop fee (normal for disposal) and some additional fee hidden in there? Unfortunately, while this place was super convenient for me, I won't be returning. I don't like being taken advantage of, as I don't believe anyone would. read more

This auto repair shop gets nothing but a 5/5 recommendation. Every time I bring my car in, the car issue is explained thoroughly and I am given the price of the parts and how much the service will cost. Dana does such a good job focusing on the customers. She is always busy answering phones or calling auto part stores. The wait time differs day to day but the end result is well worth it. They do great work on Nissans. As I myself have a Nissan and this is the only place I take it. I even take it here before I go to the Nissan dealership. Rainbow muffler gives you the best price and also provides you with a receipt if you plan to come back a different day. The price of work does not change as long as you keep the receipt. Every time I have done this , Dana has honored the price. I do not feel as if the mechanics here try to get over on me because I'm not all familiar with what's needed for my car etc. read more

Came in to have a pinhole spot welded and the guy behind the counter who was the person that did the original weld that missed the hole, I didn't understand why it even mattered but I told him the previous owner of the muffler pipe, I held it up to show him the micro pinhole that he ignored and tells me he can do it for $30 I was like umm no thank you then he gives us n attitude and says how cheap his price is, I will never go back to that place for as long as that dude works there, total rip, who charges 30 buck to do a 1 second spot weld? read more

I thought I needed a new muffler and expected to be without my car for a couple of days ad they ordered parts/etc. Rick got me in right away, and the mechanic brought me out to show me the problem. My catalytic converter had been STOLEN (cut out). Rick worked up an estimate, ordered the parts and had me out in about an hour. I figure at about half what I would have been charged elsewhere. They always act like they are super busy, but every time I go there, their staff is standing around and chatting. These guys are aces. As good as it gets. It's a small shop but came highly recommended. So I brought my brand spanking new Raptor to get muffler surgery. It has a 6.2L engine that sounded like a Civic. I needed options and I was broke, so the guys here hooked me up with a Flowmaster muffler and my truck now sounds, well, like a truck! They were very courteous and helpful and fit me in without appointment. The prices were fair and the quality of the work was outstanding. If you need muffler work done, give these guys a shot. I really like the small shop, personal service feel and they are very competitive in their prices. But best of all they take great pride in the work that they do, and it shows. I have been a steady customer for Rainbow Muffler for the past 8 years . And I always gave a good review ! Sad to say that I will never take my vehicles ever back there again ! Dana is a good person to work with and the Mechanics for the most part are all great people and do a great job hats off to Billy ! I had my intake manifold changed out there about a year and a half ago 2 years? Had nothing but trouble with it overheating still leaking and I took it back I don't know how many times but Rick kept making excuses that it wasn't the problem . I actually overheard him tell one of the mechanics that we don't have time for David's truck mine. Took it to another mechanic and they changed it out and took care of the problem swore I would never go back to them after that because he didn't want to or didn't have time to correct the problem ! Anyhow long story short I went to go get headers installed and no one else I can't do we're way too busy so I figured I'd give rainbow another chance . The headers I got from JEGS automotive did not fit, so in order to install my original exhaust manifolds back on and get them resurfaced cost me another 300 from the original estimate of 450 to 500 . So a total of almost $800 I spent thinking Rick wouldn't give me a break because of the intake manifold they messed up on and never had time to get it correct ! I am no longer a customer of theirs anymore and I will never send anybody there again ! By the way they did fix the exhaust leak and my truck is back to normal now . I had my 2013 Ram 1500 Stock dual exhaust removed in favor a more aggressive Magnaflow System. I wanted everything welded up so I went to Rainbow Muffler on the recommendation of a few others and their decent reviews on here. Let's start before the work was ever done..... 1) I was quoted roughly $99 to install the new muffler/y-pipe and the very little piping, once I got the truck on the lift and they already cut off the old pipe/muffler she (lady who works from desk) says oh its going to be $175 and its normally 200 but I am cutting you a deal because your military...PLEASE! I asked why an $80 price difference and she said replied with " I didn't know you would need 2.5" pipe, I thought it was 2 1/4... I bit my tongue politely since I was in uniform. Figured it was a lesson learned- dont allow them to cut until a price is agreed upon not "quoted". 2) Pipe bending is taking place and the pipes have HUGE valleys running down them at the bends a good 7inches long, I talk to the guy doing the pipe work and he says "the mandrel bender hasn't been serviced in a while so it doesn't bend this big pipe well, it leaves creases but they wont affect the flow any". I again voice my concern, this time Ricky(ie?) comes over and reassures me, no issues with it. I reluctantly say ok and the poorly bent pipe is installed. 3) After leaving I notice all lower RPM's there is a shutter, dare I say turbulence-esque....hmmmm Poorly bent pipe causing this? Me thinks so. I call and tell the Lady my issue, she says bring it in and we will look at it. What do you mean you will look at it? I just overpaid you for a shotty job (I will say the welds were nice though as well as tip alignment if I must find a positive), absolutely not, i will be there and you will fix this. 4) I arrive, they put it on the lift, she (desk lady) then tells me, we cant bend the bigger pipes with the creases, our mandrel bender doesn't work that way.... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!?!?!?!? YOU ARE AN EXHAUST SHOP!!!! IT IS YOUR SOLE PURPOSE! I go talk to "Papi" who was awesome, him and the welders were phenomenal dudes, and he says don't sweat it, I will get it fixed, you're not happy I'm not happy. "Papi" fixes it, shutter/turbulence gone....guess it was the shiitty bent pipes....go figure. It gets two stars because the crew themselves were good, the front office, sales tactics, customer service and overall knowledge of their supposed trade was abysmal.-All this is a reflection of the office and not the shop laborers who actually do the work. We rigged up with some hemp twine, and set about trying to choose a mechanic the next day. The first place we called didn't do muffler work, but they gave us the number for Rainbow Muffler. The staff here was fast, super friendly, and knowledgeable. The prices were very reasonable, and our muffler was replaced within 30 minutes, so we asked them to take a look at the air conditioning, since it hadn't been working for the past year. They found the problem and fixed it within an hour. I was really happy with these people, because I expected to have to deal with skeevy untrustworthy mechanics, but these people were so warm and friendly and they explained everything that was wrong with the car and exactly what they were going to do to it. read more

I arrived at 805am with 2 customers ahead of me getting oil changes. I told him I only had an hour and it would be ok if they couldn't see me but asked if they would be able to by then. They said yes and would've been correct except they (accidentally?) put 2 additional customers ahead of me which arrived after I did (I was told explicitly it was first come first serve). When I pointed this out the guy said that wasn't possible. They were very rude considering it was their mistake. I went instead the next day to the rainbow muffler on Belcher and East Bay and they were WONDERFUL. The exact opposite experience as this one. I would not come back to this one even if there was no other muffler shop in pinellas county I would happily pay the tow to Tampa to not ever deal with these careless, irresponsible, remorseless people ever again. read more
