Miranda the owner was very nice. I really liked the selections she picked. I was lucky cause at the end of the Rainbow was this great big embellished handbag that I bought cause it was marked down 75%. I loved a few pairs of black earrings recycled from tires, light weight and decorative ( locally made). Tried on an interesting sweater wrap but passed on it. It was raining heavily when I walked in this shop. I first spotted "Small Pouches With a Tassel "for 21.95 by Papaya Art, by the entrance. I was drawn to the pastel colors of light pink and water blue on the zip-up purses, and the images too, which appeared to me as a quaint mixture of nostalgic, cutout magazine art and a kaleidoscope of images from a daydream. Next, I saw a tiny paper bird decoration standing next to the pouches; an offbeat treasure. It was a "Happy Paper Bird" for $12.95 and about the size of my palm. The belly and head were both spread over with newspaper. Beside this character was a sign exclaiming: "All Decorative Candles & Vases 50% Off"! This kept me lingering longer. Sales always keep me reeled in. It was warm in here. It was raining outside, so people here, including me, were pretty much trapped here. I imaged us all probably breathing the same sticky, humid air, in this trendy-setting, one-bedroom apartment-sized store, that was in front of the popular Flagstaff Brewing Company, in downtown Flagstaff. But then I decided to stop picturing that and look around and cool stuff instead. There was an island of shoes to the far right of the store, which I lingered to, right in front of the fitting rooms. I saw the coolest boots ever, boots I would have bought, if I felt like my life depended on it. (I'm a starving graduate student with bad spending habits as it is.) Picture this: a rain boot designed like a cowboy boot with a one-inch rubber heel. With these rainbow-colored flower mandala designs printed on the outside of it. That's awesome. So friggen awesome. Made by Nomad Footwear for $49.99. That's just twenty dollars more than a pair of unnecessary boots I just bought earlier that day at Rue 21, to prepare for the fall weather. Well, that was my excuse. But I'm just a sucker for boots. Fashionable. Quirky. Funky. Unnecessary. Decorate. Cute as all hell. These are words to describe all that my eyes were absorbing at this popular boutique in downtown Flagstaff, sometimes known for being expensive, but it's a boutique and some stuff is pricey. Speaking of pricey, I turned to spot authentic Western leather boots for $142 made by Laredo after looking at the rain/cowboy boot. That price actually made me do a double-take. I think my jaw dropped for a second. And above me was a shelf presenting a collection of Fossil brand purses. "Are you doing alright?" Asked a cheerful sales associate, two times to me, while standing in one place. Maybe she saw my reaction to the boots. More inventory: a dia de los muertos flasks for $29.95, incense holders for $2.95, nag champa for $1.95. A sleeveless, 100% polyester dress for $74.95 made by Pink Martini. Another sleeveless summer dress for $69.95 by THML, with a knit blue top and buttons. Sunglasses for $16.95, and one golden funky one for $10.00. Nissa Jeans of premium denim for $34.95. Silk scarves, wallets with sewed designs and artistic jewelry from local artists. I also noticed handmade necklaces with photo pendants hanging from these elegant ribbons. I left wishing I could have the money to ornate myself with such unusual, delightful fashions, from a boutique with such a strong sense of style and imagination. The clothes here are really adorable, with unique prints and silhouettes. However, after looking at the "Made in" tags, sure the clothes are imports, but they are imported from China. Not very exotic, no? For the prices they charge for Chinese quality goods, I'd probably go elsewhere. I understand that most clothing (And most of everything you find these days) is made in China, but don't tout yourself as a fancy import store if your imports come from such a ubiquitous source! read more

I've always liked this place but when I was in college I had no money so I wasn't able to buy anything there. Now that I have more than two cents to rub together, I love this place even more! The store is like Urban Outfitters with hints of Anthropologie! I'm in Flag every few months, so I always swing by here and am greeted by uber friendly staff. I don't always walk away with a purchase, but it's the Anthro-like pieces that grab my attn. So yes, the quality isn't the same but I'm not paying $158+ for a dress here either... I just scored an awesome flouncy dress for only $44, which is what MAYBE I'd get the honor of paying if I diligently scour Anthro's sales rack. Wish they'd cut down on the incense though, as my latest purchase absolutely is enveloped in it. All in all, Rainbow's End is worth a look! read more

Great little shop -- nice assortment, multiple categories carried, primo location. The best aspect of this place is the fabulous customer service I received from Kelsey last month when I was in shopping for my daughter's birthday. She was my daughter's size, and offered to try on everything for me. She was super-fast in the fitting room and even tried one of the dresses on a second time, when I wasn't sure about it. In the end, I bought everything she tried on plus more. She is an excellent sales associate -- don't lose her. The only reason I am docking one star is because I disagree with their return policy. I happened to be in Flagstaff and visited Rainbow's End again yesterday and bought two more dresses and a scarf. After I had paid for everything, I went to the restaurant across the way, ordered an ice tea and started looking at my purchases again. I noticed that the scarf had a dime-sized hole in it! I got my tea in a to-go cup and went back to the store to return the holey scarf. I walked in and told the sales associate I had been working with five minutes prior (NOT Kelsey, who was not there that day) what I discovered and asked her to process the return. She told me that the return policy was for store credit only, even with a receipt. Well, I live two hours away and rarely come to Flagstaff. Plus this was not a situation where the item didn't fit, or was the wrong color, or I didn't like it when I got home, etc. This was a situation involving DEFECTIVE merchandise. I told her I felt that I was entitled to a refund, since the scarf had a hole, which made this scenario the fault of the merchant and not a fault or frivolity on my part.Luckily, the sales associate agreed and processed my refund. read more

I've got to say, I'm not sure what everyone is talking about. I was on a road trip with my Fiancée and we stopped in at the Rainbow's End. (We were cruising through town and stopped for breakfast and found the shop when we did) I live in the Bay Area of San Francisco and admittedly, we've got a wealth of this type of shop around here, so it was nice to see something similar in Arizona. We were able to pick up a few things for family and stuff, all of which were reasonably priced. We even got a pair of earrings for my Mom, locally made, for like $10! Rainbow End Imports is my favorite shop in downtown Flagstaff and I visit every time I'm in town. They carry clothing, jewelry, shoes, and other miscellaneous items/accessories. The items carried in the shop are fashionable, cute, and eclectic. They are also reasonably priced. I have purchased a few purses from here and a dress. All of my purchases have been items I truly loved and used for quite some time. Every visit I have found the employees to be extremely nice and helpful. Rainbow's End is the best boutique/dress shop in Flagstaff, bar none. Every time I wear something from this store I get compliments. The clothes are current and on trend, but not overly trendy. The prices vary, depending on the brand. I regularly shop in Santa Barabara and the clothes at Rainbow's End are on point with what I see there. The shoes, jewelery and hats cannot be beat, not to mention their super cute sock collection! This is the only store you need to shop at in Flagstaff. It is simply the best! read more

I was in about a week ago after being followed around downtown flagstaff by a strange man. The girl working there was incredibly nice and offered to let me hang around for as long as I needed to. I bought a pair of ribbed tights which are arguably the best I've ever worn and left, only to be followed again. I finally ditched the guy and went back to the shop before leaving downtown to thank her, and she said she had seen him follow me again and was worried. This really meant a lot and I'm just sad that I didn't get her name. If all their clothes are as nice as the tights and all their employees are as nice as the girl who helped me then Rainbow's End really is a must-stop for downtown Flag and I will definitely be visiting again! read more

A clothing store that won't refund returns (only allowing exchanges or giving in-store credit) Who expects that? In my experience this is not the standard way of doing business and I believe they should be telling each of their customers about it at checkout to make sure they understand this, not just posting a small sign and putting fine print on the receipt - or whatever else, if anything, they did which we didn't notice. Customers might not see those and not understand that they can't return items for a refund - that was our experience. Hard not to feel like things have been unfair in those circumstances. A lot about the store is good otherwise - it is a boutique with some nice and unique clothes and accessories. Prices generally felt reasonable. read more

I thought this was one neat place to check out if you are an out of towner. The prices on the clothes were very reasonable if you are from the bigger cities like Phoenix or Houston. Similar dresses and skirts, tops, i found to be comparable and $100 cheaper. The same styles could be sold in Houston, Los Angeles, Phoenix for double the price...Easily! That goes to show how inexpensive you can buy these threads for, and how over priced they can be in the big city. I stocked up here, and vowed not to shop in the city again.
