My daughter and I went shopping here and we had such a delightful time! I can't explain it but the entire ambiance and vibe was so good. Every store had a unique fresh aura and experience. Overall, we both agreed it was definitely was more of a shopping atmosphere for female shopping though as it doesn't have much at all for men. This is an interesting store in downtown Flagstaff in the basement of a strip mall. The restaurant shares the space with a barbecue please and that's the problem. Although the merchandises are cute and very affordable, the pieces of clothing I bought smelled like barbecue once I came home to Phoenix. I tried calling the store several times and left messages to let them know but no one reached out. read more

This is a cool marketplace. There are a few pretty hip shops with items like clothing, jewelry, novelty items and unique souvenirs. I was happy to find some cool tank tops since the weather was changing in the area and they didn't scream tourist but still was something unique to AZ that I could bring back home and remember my time here. Prices were totally reasonable for boutiques and lots of sales to browse through too. Sales associates were really helpful in finding the styles we were looking for. read more

This is one of my favorite stores at the moment!! I've only been to the store twice because I live in California but whenever I am in Flagstaff, I shop here. Basement Marketplace is a huge clothing store in downtown Flagstaff. They are located in the Old Town Shops and they are underground. They have a ton of cute clothes for great prices! They also have really good deals. Some of the deals they have are 2 for $15 or 2 for $30. Those are my favorite deals! All of the people who work at BMP are so friendly and helpful. I follow BMP on Instagram and I have even ordered from them using their Instagram page. One time I was looking for an outfit for a specific event and I saw a cute kimono in one of their pictures. I asked them if they had any other kimonos to go more with what I was looking for and they did (showing me multiple options). They were so helpful in picking out different outfits (kimonos and dresses) for me. They were really quick at responding as well. I was able to find the perfect outfit for what I needed! The only downside to ordering on Instagram is that I had to pay for shipping. Paying for shipping won't stop me from ordering on Instagram again, however I probably won't order as often as places that don't charge for shipping. Good prices, I especially love the 2/$10 jewelry: my earring collection has grown exponentially here! The accessories are also pretty great, including $10 scarves and gorgeous bags under $50. There's a table by the dressing room that has double sided clothing tape, bra extenders, and pasties-like items for coverage help with tricky, strappy tops. By and large, the clothing is too casual for my tastes and the style is on par with Urban Outfitters marrying Anthropologie at Forever 21 prices- not bad for a college town, and there are good sale items and staples (camisoles in particular). Service is genuinely sweet, and they have a cool loyalty program where you earn $5 coupons as you acquire points for your spending. read more

We disgusted when an employee was wearing a shirt that said real girls have dicks. We had children with us and no matter what your politics might be this was totally inappropriate. Okay I know what you are thinking why is a guy writing a review for the Basement Marketplace? There are a few reasons. I stop by Bigfoot BBQ way more than I should and you pass through the Marketplace on your way to the restaurant. I guarantee you will be greeted while walking down the stairs which for me (retail background) I think is top notch. They have some of the best presented fixtures and you can tell they care about their product. My wife will usually point something out that she likes and I will sneak over and grab it for future birthday or anniversary present. They also have some cool little nick knacks that I use to fill up her stocking at Christmas time. So for those above mentioned reasons I give them a giant two thumbs up! read more

Very pretty and cute marketplace and shopping basement. They have good deals from time to time. It is quite pricey though especially their new fashion outfits but it's worth it. They have really good sense of style & so beautiful! Also very friendly staff and they make sure you have what you want or need. Open late so many cool little stores stumbled in here after a good few hours of drinking. Very surprised at how this place looks small on the outside but so big on the inside. I was always under the impression that this place was overpriced and avoided it for the first two years I lived in Flagstaff. I'm a fool! This place has some of the best sales. I'm used to seeing ill-fitting, unstylish clothes on the $5 rack at most stores, not here! I've procured some of my most favorite items of clothing from that rack down in Basement Marketplace. Their style is quite a bit like H&M. Some of the clothes I've bought here have been lacking in quality, but it's not an overarching theme. Who decided crop tops were back?! I do enjoy going to the Basement Marketplace any time I'm in Flagstaff as their clothing is similar in nature to H&M. My last visit was a little lackluster as their merchandise appears to be ripped out of Coachella Music Festival flyer: crop tops, fringe everywhere, tight space-themed leggings and cut-off shorts that your momma would make you change. Pros: -great jewelry prices, most are 2 for $10, can really stock up on every-day pieces -sometimes offer mix-and-match clothing items, 2 for $30, etc. -nice staff, very polite Cons: -dressing rooms. I hate the cheap "here's your 3 sided changing box with a sheet hung over the door." -price of clothing, expect to spend $30+ for a shirt not on sale. -BBQ restaurant in same basement. Who decided that? I like BBQ but the smell of it wafts through the clothing store was like some kind of torture. My go-to for jewelry (love my new chain necklaces), but will skip the clothes (and the BBQ). read more

This is a good place to buy really basic items, tank tops, plain t-shirts, leggings etc. They always have buy 2 for such and such price type deals on these items. Other than that, it's a little like H&M in that when you go beyond the basics things get unique, and just not in a way I really prefer. Probably 3.5 stars overall. read more

I used to love shopping at the Basement Marketplace, the staff was friendly & the selection was great...BUT NOW: the staff is rather snobby and hardly ever greats you, or are around to help & answer questions. The clothing options have also gone down hill as well, and the selection just reminds me of walking around the LA fashion district (only at much higher prices). This used to be a dependable go-to place for shopping, but now it's not worth looking for parking to go in. read more

I was in Flagstaff on September 10, 2016 for a sports tournament and was wandering around town when I came across this store. There are multiple stores in the building but this location had a great selection of clothes at very affordable prices. I'm not sure if the quality is great, but my daughter loved what I purchased for her. Hopefully they last. read more

Staff has always been friendly over the years, only I wish they didn't hang out around the dressing rooms to give commentary on whatever you're trying on. I was killing time downtown and decided to stop in the Basement Marketplace again (for the first time in almost a year). It has such a relaxed atmosphere and a ton of great finds! The styles featured are reminiscent of H&M or Urban Outfitters, without a high price tag. And they have fantastic sales! I picked up a couple gorgeous pairs of earrings that were two for $10. I usually find it pretty easy to say "no" to spending money ... but in this case I just found it hard to say no! I'm a little scared to look at the clothing (I doubt they'd have my size) but I bought my favorite scarf here and it's an absolute must go-to location for great accessories! read more
