Good overall. Nice day and we sat outside. We just had drinks. Server was nice and very engaging. Place is looking a bit worn. There was a pretty significant wind storm the night before, but the outside area had a lot of debris that could have been cleaned up before opening. Chain restaurant experience- they did have COVID precautions in place so only 4 people seated at the bar. The wait was about an hour for 2:00pm on a Saturday, staffing was appropriate but service was slow and food wait was long. Very long wait for drinks. We ordered 3 burgers- the well done was the most rare and cold in the middle- the other 2 were under cooked but we were so hungry we just ate them. The beer I ordered came eventually but by then I had lost interest and drank all my water. Thankfully I can eat medium rare and I like water. read more

Was happy to see this was open during our visit in July '20. A lot of restaurants in the area were closed or had reduced hours due to COVID. The soup of the day was tomato basil soup which was way too thick and gluey. It's hard to mess up a tomato basil soup but they managed to do so. When I ordered the "Aloha Salmon $ Shrimp" and asked our server if she could ask the cook to be more careful and not to overcook the salmon, she said, "there's only one way to cook the salmon." When the dish came, the salmon was overcooked. And the Jasmine rice that came with the entree was undercooked. I was asked to actually write my credit card number down and give them security code also so they can go back to the back in the office to give me a refund. Totally unacceptable, even though the food was not the right order, I tasted it. Overall: Must visit if you have a toddler AND if you haven't been to one Ambience: As the name suggests, Rainforest Cafe is all about the jungle theme. They have a section for lion, a section for elephant, section for birds, section for aquatic animals. The thought put behind is impressive. On top of that, the animals animate every 15 minutes (sounds and movement) which is sure to get a kid's attention. Another cool part is every 30 minutes there is a simulated rain/lightning in the entire restaurant. Def bring your toddler or kid here. Menu: As I said above, come here for the ambience. The food is decent, but I don't know how to rate a place that can sell tacos, fajitas, bbq steak, pasta, and burgers under one roof. Add pizza and Chinese, and you have a Cheesecake Factory business model. I had the burger and nachos. The food is not bad but not great either. Drinks: Lots of rainforest themed drinks and a few draft beers. We had the fruity cocktails and thought they were weak. Fun place. Good Food. Good portions. Not part of the real Rainforest Cafe chain and their discounts. Beware of a possible billing scam! (Read to the end for that drama) This experience was well on its way to being 4 1/2 stars until the bill came. That's when things went downhill. In fairness, we had a great meal and the environment was still fun with the occasional indoor thunderstorm and animatronics throughout the dining areas. Our two kids had a burger and the "kids pasta" respectively. The portions were good and the food tasted great. My wife had the fish tacos, which was an entrée, not an appetizer (also very good) and I had an excellent order of fish and chips. Overall, we were quite pleased with our food. The place was busy, as would be expected at lunch time in a tourist area. Service was a little slow, but completely reasonable for being a full packed restaurant. No complaints. Our waitress, a 20-year veteran as she mentioned to us several times, was inattentive and we had to flag her down a few times during our visit for refills. Even considering how busy it was, I'd still say she could have done better to check on us when approaching other tables in our area. Once the bill came, that's when things went downhill. The pricing was fine for a Rainforest Café experience. It's a tourist area, it's going to be a bit pricier. First off, just a word of caution to readers of this review: If you're a member of AARP, the Rainforest Café chain gives you a 10% discount off your bill. I wasn't necessarily expecting an RC restaurant in Canada to honor an AARP card from America, but I did ask about the discount. The waitress was unfamiliar with AARP (ok, I get it) and I showed her the web page that shows the entire chain provides a discount, just to see if that sparked any thoughts of whether she wanted to ask a manager about it. Again, I wasn't going to push the issue, I was merely asking if it applied. Savings is savings, if it's applicable and this may have saved $18. That's when she explained that THIS Rainforest Café is the only independently owned location in the world and is not part of the chain or it's discounts. I was perfectly fine with that explanation and made no further issue about it. (As other reviewers have posted, they don't honor the Landry's discount card either.) The real issue is what we think was pretty underhanded and likely a real money-maker for this restaurant... Buyer Beware!: As I mentioned earlier, my wife had the fish tacos entrée. When she placed her order, she really only wanted the tacos since she's a light eater. The waitress promptly said "Which side would you like with that?" This question, phrased as such, pretty much implies the side dish comes with it...especially if you're ordering an entrée, not an appetizer. She picked the plain fries. The bill had a charge for "Fries $9.99" and we were confused. I called her over to ask her which order of fries didn't come with our meals and she explained it was the fish tacos. We challenged her and asked her why she asked us which side my wife wanted with the tacos. Then she said, "Oh, maybe I should have phrased it differently! I wanted to know IF you wanted a side dish and which one it would be." Something tells me this little "phrasing" issue at $10 a pop probably adds up to a pretty penny for the restaurant (and her gratuity). Pull this nonsense 10 times a day and you've boosted revenue by $100.00! So, my word of caution to the rest of you is to start asking "Does a side dish come with this?" even if it's being offered while you're ordering. Aside from this questionable situation, we had a very good meal and enjoyed our visit to the Rainforest Café in Niagara Falls, Canada. read more

If you're familiar with the Landry's brand you know they are usually very good. This place is a franchise and It shows. The customer service here is horrible. The poor management of this place starts at the door and goes on from there. So during the week they are open from 4 PM to 9 PM you think they could get it right for five hours out of the day but obviously that is just too much to ask. read more

Many years ago when I lived in Connecticut I used to visit the Rainforest Cafe in West Hartford with my parents. As a kid I absolutely loved the place and thanks to that location closing around 2008, I was forced to stop going there. I used to order what was similar to a large flat piece of fried chicken with some sort of sauce on it and I absolutely loved it. Well, The Rainforest Cafe is a different experience in 2019 and it's not a good one. This location screams rundown, outdated, and even the menu these days seems lazy and lacking of anything I actually wanted to order. We arrived around 8:15PM and ended up waiting roughly 30 minutes for a table even though the place had a bunch of empty tables around the restaurant. Our waiter was super friendly and even though he got my order wrong, he was wonderful otherwise. I ended up just ordering some chicken strips and a side order of onion rings to go with it. What I got was an order of the chicken strips with a side of French fries (if it's something I'll eat, I usually don't complain). The food itself was comparable to Ruby Tuesday or Chili's only less flavourful, not terrible but also not very fulfilling to eat. The chicken was similar to any frozen chicken fingers you would buy and the French fries were basic fries. Overall, I can honestly say this was the last time I would ever eat at a Rainforest Cafe. The lack of effort put into keeping the place modern was kind of a bummer and most of the animals show tons of signs of ware. If you find yourself in the falls, I don't recommend eating here, although it's still fun for kids. read more

Had a great experience here with the kids last night! There was no wait at 5:45pm, and we were sat in a comfy booth right away! My two boys had never been here before and our tour guide host explained the thunderstorm and animal noises! Our waitress was great, very attentive and kept our drinks filled and checked on us. The food came within 20 minutes, all hot and fresh. The kids ordered the mini burgers and the pasta. The mini burgers came in a pair of two, and the fresh fruit that he ordered was good! The pasta was PLENTY for a kid, and the applesauce was Motts in a cup. The pasta also came with a breadstick. My husband got the Rasta Pasta, which he said was a little over seasoned and the garlic bread was also too salty. I got the rotisserie chicken and a side of double mashed. The mashed potatoes were great and so was the chicken, although a pain in the ass to get off the bone! Kids shared the lava mud dessert which was a gummy worm Oreo topped pudding. They seemed to enjoy! They also got the slushies with the animal cups, which you take home after you buy! We were in an and out in less than an hour and a half and for $95 plus tip! It was hard to find an okay place to eat near Niagara Falls and this was the only place we both agreed on. It's like any typical Rainforest Cafe, the atmosphere is nice. We were seated almost immediately and our server was nice as well. I totally forgot what we ordered but I remember the food being just okay. Nothing special about it, typical food you'd get at any Rainforest Cafe's. We also got drinks and the drink I got was sooo good. It tasted nothing like alcohol and more of a milkshake. I could have drank two but I was so full from food. We got two free cups because we ordered those drinks. We have been here a few times and always have a great time. It is great for a family as we brought our granddaughter here. She loved the animated animals and that kept her attention while we waited for our food. There is also at game room attached to the restaurant if the kids like to play some games. Food and service is always good. There is a lot of variety and enough to choose from. In the summer there is a small patio to people watch. And they do have fire pits to keep you warm on colder evenings. Great location and if you stay at the Sheraton easy place to eat and drink and enjoy! read more

My wife and I visited on a Friday night. Since it's the off-season for tourists, there was no wait. The animated wildlife is fine for kids. We did have a Groupon we were using. I like this place particularly for the fried shrimp. It is above average for what you find around here. The fries and coleslaw were also good. The service was fine. We shared a piece of key lime pie, which was quite cheesy and very good. The portions are good sized here. We found a groupon for this place and decided to come back and try it again. We visited back when they first opened and weren't really impressed. That was NOT the case this time. Wait was pretty standard for a Saturday night especially with a holiday weekend. 20-30 minutes. The arcade would be nice to waste time in but the prices were not really great. Extra $2 charge to buy a card to load credits on. Once seated we met our Safari Guide Josh. He was amazing. Possibly one of the best servers I can think of in recent restaurant visits. He was very knowledgeable about the drink menu and helped us make changes to the mess to make the suit us better. I started with a strawberry mojito from the bar. $12 but you get to keep the glass that is like $6 in the gift shop. Wasn't really feeling it so my dear mother was only to happy to finish it. Then I ordered my go to drink a margarita and it was delicious. Food was a lot better than I remembered. I had the Amazon Feast with the red potato mash. 1/2 a rotisserie chicken and about 4-5 ribs. I wasn't sure how I was going to like the BBQ sauce but it was so tasty. Sweet and savory and not too much heat. I will definitely get the full rib dinner next time. The chicken was also good but the ribs left me wanting more. The coleslaw didn't really taste like anything. Really enjoyed the spinach dip and the multi colored chips. My mom loved her burger. Huge portions and good eats. Even better service. Only reason I docked a star was the prices. If it wasn't for the deal we would've paid nearly $100. I get it is touristy and in a hotel. The resto is not even full yet our waiter that time May 3 7pm is in a hurry to finish our meal. I hope not all the waiters in this resto have the same approach and attitude like her. There was a celebrator but instead of the volcano cake they serve, she serve us a complimentary muffin. What an insult. I've tried the Rainforest Cafe closer to home so I thought it would be just as good. I got the cavatappi pasta with sausage and felt like it was a kids meal. The size was fine, but this pasta felt like they just poured a tomato sauce over the pasta and threw in some sausages. Bummer. The garlic bread was a bit burnt and really hard. I gave two starts anyway because I also tried the fajitas and that was actually good. The fajitas came on a sizzling plate; salsa, beans, rice and guac were also included. I also had a side salad with chicken which was good, but you can't really go wrong with that. Overall, I don't think I would go back. For the price of the meals, I expected more (especially with the cavatappi pasta). Lastly, the service was lacking. It was hard to get a hold of our server for boxes, bill, anything. We opted for the Rainforest Cafe because it has been rated on Tripadvisor as one of the Top 25 restaurants to experience in Niagara Falls. Luckily for us, it resided at our hotel. Pictures do not do it justice; it is a very well designed "Rainforest"-like eatery. As far as the Staff, our host was sweet and informative. She gave us a little tour of the restaurant, what animals can be spotted where and led us to our seats. Our server, Tia, was very sweet as well and attentive. As entree's we decided to go with the Honey Siracha Salmon (24.9$). I would recommend this Salmon over and over and over again. It was so so flavorful and not as spicy as the name suggests. HINT of some spice but the glaze balances it well. It was accompanied by white rice and an asian green bean stir-fry with onions and red peppers. We ordered alcoholic cocktails: Panama Punch and a Man Tai. The Mai Tai was a little strong, the Panama Punch tasted a little watered down. For the price, (9.4$) and the size of the drink (was suppose to be 16oz souvenir cups but were out of stock), I'd say drink your water. Our total bill was 77$ (not including tip) for two entrees and two drinks.. Our entree's were very good but I did not walk out feeling like it was worth the total bill. The prices are definitely increased a good amount because of the ambiance. I do recommend the place if you are traveling with kids. It would be fun for them with the mechanical animals. Also, for those interested, all menu's were single-use. The tables were socially distanced.. masks worn by all staff members. Masks are required upon entry, once at the table, you can remove them. They have a cute little arcade to play in while you wait for your table to be ready. It was fun for the whole family to play. Then we looked through the gift shop as well. Delicious food and very friendly staff. The whole atmosphere was very adorable and made me feel the rainforest vibe for sure. Stayed at the Sheraton, so used this as an easy dinner option with the kids. Showed up around 630 on Saturday and was told the wait was 60-90 minutes. No big deal, took a dip in the pool first. Went back an hour later and was quickly seated. This is the only thing that happened quickly all night. Our server was pleasant enough, took drink orders and brought the non-alcoholic drinks quickly. The bottled beer and glass of wine took quite some time though. Food was pricey, and took over 40 minutes for simple food - kids hot dog and pizza, grilled chicken sandwich and house salad. Nothing should've taken more then 15-20 minutes IMO. The salad was missing its dressing. I know it's Easter eve, but we're not rabbits! Complained about the length of time and lack of salad dressing, and we got comped the inedible salad. Unfortunately the rest of the food wasn't much better. Avoid. read more

Mystery Scrambled Egg Mix Upon arrival 10:00am : We were on our way out of Niagara Falls looking for a quick breakfast. The restaurant is attached to the Sheraton Hotel where we spent our weekend. The hostess seemed very frantic which was a little confusing seeing as there were not that many patrons. After ten minutes of waiting she sat us near another couple. I was concerned about the social distancing restriction so I asked the server to sit at another table further away from the other couple and she said "that table is dirty". The couple offered us Lysol wipes which I used to wipe down our table that the restaurant failed to do as a precaution. My boyfriend overheard the other couple complain about their meal and demand a fresh meal which the manager seemed to allow. My boyfriend and I at this point realized we were in for a less than favorable experience. We both ordered scrambled eggs and bacon, it arrived about 30 minutes later. The eggs were very cold, not freshly cooked, and looked as though they had been premade and were sitting out for quite sometime, the toast was also cold and unbuttered. We also requested cheese and it appeared as though they sprinkled the cheese from the fridge without any attempt to melt it. If we're being honest I wouldn't even have fed the mystery egg mixture to my dog. We got up immediately and addressed the concern to the bartender as our server was not attentive at all. ( a complaint the other couple also made) She proceeded to ask us several times if we had anything to drink, at which point my boyfriend politely answered NO. We simply were extending the restaurant a courtesy by letting them no we refused to eat what they seemed to think was a reasonable meal. When you step foot into an establishment you expect a particular level of service, making eggs fresh one might consider to be a bare minimum. The Rainforest Cafe in Florida has always been a favorite stop for me and my family. So, when we found one in Niagra Falls, we just had to give it a try. The atmosphere and overall experience were not quite the same. I think that's because the Florida location is a stand-alone building, and the restaurant in Niagra Falls is housed with another building. The food was pretty good but very expensive. I ordered the Coconut Shrimp with mashed potatoes and Cole slaw. My husband ordered the BBQ Bacon Burger, which was huge. Our son had a hot dog and French fries. Everything was cooked to order and the service was very quick and friendly. If you're in the mood for something different with a little added ambiance, stop in and give it a try. Just don't expect the same experience as you would see in the stand-alone restaurants and be prepared to spend a little more. read more
