This is a family owned minority business. Granddaughter, mom and aunts and cousins all working together to keep the business running. This restaurant gives you a "home-like sensation", like waiting to eat at your grandmother's home. You receive French toast bites on the house as a starter. There are not many places that serve chicken wings with waffles...and I don't know why! Wings are better than boneless chicken. I did believe it needed more seasoning but otherwise a hearty meal. We were visiting the area to take in the Packers vs Bills game and we always try to patronize local eateries. Let me tell you, we were NOT disappointed. The atmosphere is cozy and homey and the food is on point. My wife had the Belgian waffle and I had the meat lover's omelette and it was actually better than I make at home. Found this spot on Yelp! It was close to Niagara Falls so a no brainer to stop and get lunch. Don't be dismayed by the parking. We actually parked in CVS parking lot without issue. Of course we didn't stay very long but long enough to get a delicious meal. A young nan was our waiter, he actually looked like a high schooler. He was very friendly and told us his favorite meal. He checked on us often but not enough to get on our nerves. We spoke with John I believe the husband of the owner. This was definitely a gem of a find during our vacation stop to Niagara Falls. Finding food in the touristy part of town was crowded and mediocre at best. So we decided to search for something outside the area. Don't let the outside and the area deter you. This happened to be in the Little Italy part of town. We were a large party of 7. After being out in the sun all day, stepping into a well cooled restaurant was such a relief. It definitely felt like we were stepping into a family home. Food takes awhile as items are cooked to order which we didn't mind at all. We were able to watch the Olympics with some family members there. We ordered the rib dinner with sides, fried catfish basket, loaded fries, chicken and waffles, fried chicken dinner, and shrimp baskets. Our sides included greens, Mac n cheese, black eyed peas, yams, and corn bread. We didn't have one item we did not like. Service was excellent and as business owners ourselves, my husband and I adored seeing family grandchildren at work. When we come back to Niagara Falls and to all our friends who visit, know we will definitely come back and recommend you check it out. Support small family businesses like these. This is a tiny little place that I never would have found if it wasn't for Yelp. My husband and I stopped over night In Niagara Falls on the way home to Ohio from Massachusetts. We stayed at the Sheraton, so when I woke up I yelped breakfast spots and Betty's came up and we went. The staff was so nice and everything was made to order. We got the western omelettes, bacon, and home fries. When I say I've never had a more delicious , fluffier omelette...I mean!! It was so good and melted in your mouth. They also gave you a sample of their fried waffle while you waited for your food. Someone got the chicken and waffles and it looked soooo amazing and they were huge!! I wanted to absolutely love this place , but I will have to settle for just loving the food , and also finding the staff to be very sweet and polite . My Spanish omelette was fantastic , and my partner loved her breakfast of eggs , toast and ham , though she did order bacon . The wait was minimally 1/2 hour to get our food so she rolled with the ham and found it to be very good . Coffee was a little thin for my taste but it was not by any means bad . The service was very friendly , not overly so , just laid back and very polite - no complaints here . The diner itself - well it is functional , no particular style ,looks a bit dated , but then again many diners do ! There were plenty of tables and they were well spaced apart . The biggest issue here , was the wait time . There was one other group of people in the diner . It took at least 30 minutes for our food to come out , this was unexpected and felt like forever ! Fortunately, the food was worth the wait , but I think speeding things up a bit here may be necessary . I am willing to venture a guess that everything is prepared with care and will taste great if you have the time to wait . I would definitely consider calling ahead to pick up an order , but I forgot to see if that was an option . Based on our meals alone - nearly 5 star . Oh my god. Miss Betty can I come to your house for thanksgiving? This food was soooo good. Peach cobbler was fresh out of the oven and whoever pulled it out sprinkled love and affection on top of it. Chicken and cornbread waffle. The cornbread waffle was a spin on the normal waffle that is paired for traditional chicken and waffles. It was sweet and flavorful. Suggestion! The American side of the Niagara falls really isn't the idea tourist place when you compare it to the Canadian side. There aren't ferris wheel rides, extravagant hotels with views nor blocks of restaurants to visit. However, there is this small family run diner that serves soul food with one of the cutest and best customer service experiences I've had. They really emphasize the family owned - placed by the entrance was looked like the uncle or grandpa, I was then greeted and waited upon by two grade school teens. We got the Fried Chicken, Shrimp and Grits, the Mac and Cheese and the Chicken and Waffles. I can't say any of it was the "best" of foods I've had, but they definitely hit the spot and satisfied my soul food craving. P.S The Lemonade was delicious! We were checked in on constantly, ensuring we had all the syrup we needed, all the water we needed and if there was anything else we wanted.
