We were tourists looking for a place to have dinner that wasn't a typical tourist trap chain. Cafe Nautica was perfect! It's less than a ten minute ride north from the falls and feels like your favorite neighborhood joint. Plus, unlike in the tourist areas, you can park on the street for free. The owner, Zoran, and the food are Serbian. Lots of meat - beef, veal, pork. We had the tomato, peppers and cucumber salad with feta as a starter and it was fresh and as flavorful as it gets. Zoran brought out fresh, piping hot Serbian bread with a soft cheese that will have you thinking you died and went to heaven. We also had the mixed meat platter for two which could have easily fed 3 or 4. Everything was so well seasoned and tasty. Zoran topped it off with complimentary baklava for dessert. He chatted with us and made us feel like welcome guests in his home. When you are in Niagara Falls, forget Margaritaville and the Hard Rock Cafe. Eat where the locals eat. If you are in town looking to eat some great Mediterranean food, this is the best place to stop at. Me and my husband happened to be in Toronto, Niagara Falls, and we had been to some extremely expensive Italian restaurant, and the food wasn't even that good. We had been to Turkish restaurants the food was okay, than we decided to switch and look for a traditional Balkan restaurant where we could have some good Ćevapi. We came to restaurant Nautica and ordered the Ćevapi and Salad. Let me tell you, we were SHOCKED at how great the food tasted. I had never had a better Ćevapi than here. Not even back home the ćevapi has ever tasted this good. And the prices are cheap given the quality of food. Way cheaper than any restaurant in Toronto. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and good traditional music. The owner is very welcoming and friendly, he also served us Rakia and Baklava. Great Great restaurant!! My guest and I stumbled upon this absolute gem of a restaurant without any knowledge of the positive local reputation (we are not from the area). After having been ignored for 15 minutes at Taps on Queen across the road - we arrived hungry and annoyed to say the least. What a blessing in disguise ! The meal was divine - very high quality made from scratch by the chef / owner and brought right to your table by him as well. I loved the dishes being served "family style" (huge portions!) the prices are fair but most impressive was the incredible tasting meal :) The homemade bread served with Balkan cream cheese was a very nice surprise. My guest had the schnitzel and I had the chicken breast both done in a lovely mushroom sauce to die for. This might be my new favourite treat in Niagara Falls - I am definitely looking forward to our next visit. read more

We happened upon this restaurant by accident and.... WOW! What awesomely fresh, expertly prepared meals. REAL Mediterranean too- not Greek but authentic Mediterranean complete with schnitzel and dips/spreads found only in Eastern Europe (Croatia). This all-in-one bistro is a special find, in food and service. For an extra special treat, be sure to ask Zoran a few questions and you'll get a unique story, that's as special as the food. We had the Pita platter (complete with cream cheese and paprika spreads, and fluffy Pita- I don't think I can go back to that flat stuff); the veal platter but special Made by the chef with mushroom sauce; and the mixed meat platter. Phenom, all. I'm vegetarian. And I had the best salad (with walnuts and avocado) I've had in a very long time. We will definitely return when we come back to Niagara. read more

This restaurant is an undiscovered gem! We went with friends without knowing much about the place. Goran, the owner chef, said he would cook for us, and boy did he ever do an incredible job. The salad of tomatoes, cucumbers onion, feta type cheese, and a great dressing was the start. Then came the meat platter. OMG, chicken, veal, sausages (home made) pork cutlet, all magnificent and served on a bed of french fries. Not necessarily what you might expect from a Serbian restaurant, but the value and quality of the food were unbelievable. If we were staying any longer, we would go back. Bring your appetite and cash, as they are not yet set up to accept credit cards. Don't be fooled by the modest ambience. This is a great restaurant. read more

What a little gem Cafe Nautica turned out to be! The decor is all blues, metal and wood- feels sleek but nice. The kitchrn area is open so you can watch your food being prepared. We were told to sit anywhere upon entry. The owner, i think, took our order and suggested a few items. Every thing was delicious from the salad with nuts and fresh greens to the aoft bread with flavored butter ending with a hige plate of varied meats, drizzled with an absolutely wonderful sauce! Best meal of the vacation! Be alert to the fact that this place is cash only! An atm machine is avalable. Make sure you visit Cafe Nautica! You will be delighted! read more

I've been coming to Café Nautica for about 3 yeas now and it never ceases to amaze me and those I bring along with me! The owner and chef makes authentic Mediterranean dish with much love and care and generous portions. My sister and I personally prefer the cevapi or grilled chicken (both are absolutely delectable) but if you are going with more than 2 people the mixed plater offers the whole works! My partener and I visted on Friday May 4th 2018 for dinner. We cant stop talking about this place. Zoran was very welcoming and made you feel like being at home. True homestyle Balkan cooking. Lots of selection of top shelf drinks. We both ordered the cevapi plate which was 10/10 and to finish it off with a cappuccino and espresso which both were quality tasting. Have to add a little secret about this owner: professional waiter from Sarajevo, (remember '84 Winter Olympic Games???) that had best chiefs from city to learn cooking national specialty dishes from and we are so fortunate to have him here in Niagara Falls. This is by far the best meal you are going to have at Niagara. Forget all the once-only tourist traps on Clifton Hill and take a very short trip to the quaint Niagara Downtown area to visit Cafe Nautica. We were a group of 6 who stumbled upon this gem and are so happy we did! Like Hana S. we were served a similar family style meal. The meat was melt in your mouth, hot baked bread, and the service was so friendly! Going back to the Falls for a "girls" weekend in a few weeks and we will definitely be making a return visit! read more
