Had the misfortune of ordering some parts for my glock online with Rainer Arms. I received emails asking me to verify who I am because my billing address was different from the shipping address. REALITY is that they ARE THE SAME. If their staff can't read English & comprehend numbers how am I going to prove anything to them? I had them refund my order when they asked that I send a copy of my drivers license or a bill with my name and address on it....apparently having the SAME BILLING & SHIPPING ADDRESS isn't good enough. I went in to get a barrel and it was pretty busy. I was helped once one of the guys was available and I waited for my turn. It was nice to talk over a few things with the employee (Ryan O. according to my receipt) and not feel rushed to get through the conversation, even though quite a few people were in the lobby. I had many questions since this is the first rifle I am building. They had the barrel I was looking for available, but only in a polished finish. I am not too fond of the bling factor so he told me he could have it blasted while I waited to give it the nice satin finish I was looking for, which only took a few minutes. He exchanged my rifle length gas tube for the intermediate that I had bought at a previous date also. All in all exceptional service and will be returning for future purchases. read more

Purchased a lower online through the web. Went to pick it up and was told that the shop owner, John I believe, has a personal rule that he does not sell registered parts to non-citizens. Even though I am legally allowed to purchase said part, and other places have never given a single thought to this, I drove 40 minutes to buy something local. This was never mentioned on the website, not listed in their terms and conditions and the staff did not care one single bit. Poor service and poor policy. read more

WTF? why charge me for a part you don't have. Ask for a refund which was never processed by Rainier Arms. Had to file a dispute with the credit card company. I Was looking for one of the Seekins rail and it said out of stock for 15", so I called to see when they would have those in and they told me they had one in stock. So I drove almost 2 hours to get there to find out they did not have any in stock. Why the hell tell the customer you had it in stock when you don't. Update 11/7/2015 Mike the manager contacted me after reading my initial review. He was very understanding of what happened and agreed it was not a fair experience. He offered to swap every single part on my rifle to match exactly the one that was shown to me when I bought my rifle. Mike really turned my experience around. I was not expecting to hear back from Rainier Arms. But to my surprise Rainier Arms (Mike) is really concerned with his customers well-being and sales experience. He really went out of his way to make sure I was happy with my purchase. If you are looking to buy a rifle (AR 15), definitely check them out!! Even if its out of the way; they are 1.5 hours away for me. This is the absolute place to buy a quality rifle. I am glad I bought from them and highly recommend them!! Found multiple great reviews about their rifles and business, so I decided to give them a try. Visited their store looking for advice and to select an AR15. I was between a Daniel Defense V3 and their RUC2. While talking to one of their reps, he showed me their UltraMatch AR15 with titanium this, nickel boron coated carrier, amazing trigger, etc tons of upgraded parts, even had angled mechanical sights in case you wanted to bypass the optional optic sights; beautiful rifle. I figured I would go for the $700 more expensive rifle (compared to the RUC2) since I would eventually upgrade those parts later on anyway. Went ahead and paid the $1,995 and then I was told the rifle was not available. That it needed to be assembled...sigh...fine. 6 days later I call to find out the status of the rifle and I am told its been built sitting here. Was anyone going to call me and let me know?? So I head out there, 1.5 hours away for me, to pick it up... When I get there, no one remembers me (I did spend like 3 hours last week when I purchased the rifle). They can't find my rifle... Finally when they do, we go through the rifle and then the crap hits the fan... The rifle they presented did not match the rifle on display that I was sold a week ago. It did not have angled sights, had different butt stock, different trigger, different bolt carrier (was not the shiny nickel boron coated one that was emphasized how great it was) and different grip. I was so upset!! I just spent $2,200 with taxes and I am not getting the gun I've been drooling over all week anxiously waiting. Seems like the gun that was on display with the UltraMatch description card and $1,995 price was upgraded. !@#$%^& Why would you advertise a modded UltraMatch rifle in the place of a a standard UltraMatch?? Then tell the customer, a 1st time customer spending $2,200 sorry, the online specs match the rifle we built you. I did not buy online, I bought face to face. I should have made a stink about it and told them I want the gun I was sold or refund my money. But I didn't... I should have... Unfortunately, I spend a lot of money and unfortunately I will not be spending it at Rainier Arms... I look for another gun store or go online. I am really disappointed in their customer service/purchase experience. I thought going to an AR15 specialty store, I would have been taken care of from A-Z. Their staff does not seem too knowledgeable on AR15s...lots of guess statements. I have not yet fired the rifle. Seems very high quality and great build. We will see what happens when I take it to my AR15 fundamental class later next month. What a great store! After an unsuccessful day of going from gun shop to gun shop this was my last stop. I was not hopeful at all and at the first glance not impressed. As I started to talk to the sales man I found out they had all top of the liine magpul products, tac tailor slings, and a huge selection of fire arms! Plus every part you can iinagine in the back. I've purchased two rifles from Rainier Arms over the last two years. The first go-round was a little testy as I had placed my order a couple of days after Sandy Hook and the panic buying had already set in. Couldn't get anybody on the phone and the only email responses I got had a sarcastic flavor to them. I can't fault them too much, though, because I know it was complete chaos at the time. But I still didn't appreciate being treated like that. My second purchase from them was much better. I was able to get somebody on the phone to finalize the order and she was very polite. I was also able to get some advice on replacing a stock. All in all I'd say that Rainier Arms redeemed themselves and they are my go-to for all my tactical gear. 25 y.o active duty Marine. This is my first Yelp review as I only use this app to find bars, barbers and food joints in my area (Washington DC area) I recently bought my first AR from Rainier Arms (BCM Recce 14.5 KMR) and as a first time buyer I made the mistake of being so anxious and excited of getting my order all at once, I also bought a trijicon MRO red dot, BCM KAG and their QD sling mount in the same transaction. This meant it would all be in one package sent to my FFL. The day comes to finally pick up my package and I'm ecstatic, looking up my tracking number every 20 minutes through its delivery process entirety. I walk into my FFL smiling ear to ear! "Hi!! I'm here to pickup my firearm!" I said with confidence and pride. Showed my documentation, all that jazz. They pull my box from their cage. "Would you like to open it here?" As an employee gives me a box cutter. "Of course!" I felt like a 4 year old about to open the "big" Christmas present but wanted to stay calm on the outside to make it look like I've done this before. To my liking, I pull the rifle out first, it's a thing of beauty! Perfectly packaged with everything included. I moved on to my accessories. KAG QD sling mount BCM swag . Now the icing on the cake; my optic... It wasn't in the box, so I calmly ask the employee, "excuse me, I also had an optic with this order, is it in a different box?" They check their computer, "sir our records show this is all that you have received." That's impossible! I went from ecstatic to feeling like I had two weeks to live! God damn roller coaster of emotion is flowing through my body. The employees could tell I was not happy and at that point, they slowly disappear or get sucked in to their computers so they don't have to deal with this issue. Now I'll try to shorten this story up. It was a Sunday so RA was closed so I waited til Monday to call them to see if the order was either in two separate boxes or just wrongly packaged. I spoke to a gentlemen named, Ari. I told him the situation and he handled it with the utmost professionalism I have experienced with customer service in a very long time. Very calm and courteous throughout our conversation. He assured me that they had properly packaged my entire order correctly and had verified with his packers as well. At this point, I was already leaning to believe RA's side of the story instead of my FFL stating that "they have done this for years and something like an optic just doesn't go missing" So after a lot of back and forth with my FFL, ready to rip someone's head off I contact Rainier one more time. I specifically asked for Ari as instructed by him and let him know that my FFL is standing firm saying they didn't have my optic and weren't liable. And with no evidence that is very easy to do! Ari again, handled myself and my dilemma perfectly. Through our last conversation some of his words stuck with me; "you are our customer first and foremost and we will do anything to take care of you" now that was something great to hear, knowing they were on my side and would back me in this sticky situation. Minutes later, my FFL calls me back stating they gave my optic to another person who also purchased a Trijicon optic and it was on its way back to the store. Feeling relieved that this shitshow finally came to a solution, I felt the need to call Ari back and actually give him some good news. He could tell in my voice off the rip that the optic had been found. I expressed my appreciation and gratitude for him and his packers for sticking with me on this and helping in every way possible. In the end, I felt like we became friends in a way. I now know I have a trustworthy company that I can rely on and will recommend to anyone looking for high quality AR's and accessories! Short: Five stars for an unconventional job list, getting it right the first time around, on time, and to my liking. Details: Brought in a brand new barrel and barrel nut and purchased a new gas block on the spot, and also payed for pinning. They did the job right, and even on a weekend, which is not standard for their smith's hours(weekdays only): awesome! Quality, and selection, plus the customer service of getting what I want done right the first time, and early. Note: they remembered to throw on the barrel nut as asked. When they shipped it back, they shipped it properly and well packaged, for a fair price and in a timely manner. Finally, when I called to ask them to ship it instead of holding it in-store for me, I also purchased a gas tube. The guy on the phone knew what he was doing, and it was a very easy and efficient transaction. Trust this company with your needs, and wants. I am not pleased with their service. I have ordered many thousands of parts from every company from psa to cmmg to spikes tactical and davidson defense. Midway USA, and even del-ton. I have had long delivery wait times. Such as davidson defense taking six weeks to assemble an upper and send it out for shipping. So be it. What I have never had before is someone send me an email asking me if I am in fact a real purchaser of a part. I did with rainier arms. Several days after I ordered a birthday present for my wife, ( a Tin bcg for my wife's ar style rifle), I received an email asking for my name, address, invoice number and credit card number. I instantly thought this was a scam. The real company I ordered from would have all this information. So I sent a separate email back to the company asking if this email was valid. Several days later I received an email explaining that I used a different shipping address than billing address. So I sent an email back explaining why I was shipping to the other address as in it was a surprise and also at the other address someone was always there to receive the package, ( to thwart porch piracy). As if I needed to explain myself to someone I am spending several hundred dollars with. Anyways, I did. I also in the same email gave all the information they had previously asked for. At this point I still had several weeks before my wife's birthday. Had I known they would cancel the sale I could have ordered another bcg from another more credible company in time to receive it for my wife's birthday. But no, they waited another week then cancelled my order in spite of the fact I gave them everything they asked for and even an explanation. Obviously I had to come up with a different gift for my wife. Well great. But whatever. However I am not pleased about the way I was dealt with and I want you all to know, they are better off left alone. Go with another company. In fact any other company. I have never been jerked around like that from someone I was trying to spend hundreds of dollars with. It makes me curious if they sold me something they never even had, and instead of being honest by sending an email saying sorry. They played games with me. I'm not sure. I went to Rainier Arms recently to have them pin a muzzle device to a new KAC upper I had - traditionally I have used Adco for this sort of work but based on Rainier's reputation and the fact that they were local I thought I would give them a shot. I am really glad I did - they had a great selection of breaks/comps and the in store service was fantastic - everyone I dealt with seemed very knowledgable and familiar with their inventory. I got my upper back in less than a week and the gunsmithing was great - the break was perfectly timed and the pin/weld looked very clean. They were also very competitively priced - on par with Adco but without the shipping and significantly less than other Seattle Area shops/smiths. I thought I would give them another shot when I wanted to buy a new upper and had exactly the same buying experience - great selection, pricing on par or better than major online retailers and they went out of their way to make sure that the gunsmithing was perfect. I have had previous good experiences there but I will not longer taking my business there. The finish on there XTC compensator left more to be desired. Some of the coating flaked off when I threaded it on by hand. They never responded to my emails about it. The latest incident is when Aristotle over there refused to work with me on a barrel purchase I made. I bought a barrel for 255 and day and half later they lowered the price to 215. I asked if they would honor the sale price since I hadnt even received it yet even. They refused to do anything about it saying tough luck. I bought a barrel from someone else for $255 and will be returning this barrel today and taking my big gun hobby business elsewhere. Spent 1000 in the last 6 months with them and 10000 in firearms and related parts in 2011 which they wont be seeing a penny of ever again. Hope you enjoy that extra $40 profit. read more
