A cozy restaurant just outside Mt. Rainier and only open during the summers! The patio seating is open and covered. The place is run by a sherpa and has cool memorabilia on display from his time at Mt. Everest. I believe he is now a mountain guide at Rainier. Service is quick and seems everyone working there is family/friends. Food is fantastic. They have American food like burgers and fish&chips, but I've only ever tried their Nepalese food. Chicken thali is served on a lunch tray. It's a good portion for one person! Comes with a small lentil soup/sauce and chicken is moist and flavorful in the curry. They also serve beer/wine/cider. A great stop if you're going to Mt. Rainier!
Excellent casual theme (Mt. Climbing) restaurant, indoor and outdoor seating. Very popular and crowded but they move fast. No long wait at 7 pm. We had the excellent Sherpa beef stew with lots of vegetables and pork dumplings. All are handmade. Not too salty or oily which we love, you can add more salt if you want. Dumplings were good. I recommend you try with vinegar and soy sauce for dipping. Marion berry pie excellent, not too sweet. You can taste the ingredients. Good beer and wine selection. Most highly recommended.
The food was amazing, the ambiance is travel friendly and fun and the service was sweet! The owner has scaled Mt Everest 15 times! Such a fun place to stop and eat. Highly recommend.
Family-owned and operated Nepalese restaurant with traditional dishes and a few American classics. We tried the chicken thali and it was tasty. I wish the chicken curry was warmer / sizzling so it could be enjoyed. Unfortunately it was not possible to warm it up. I recommend requesting that it's extra warm when you order. The lentil soup tasted more like corn soup. The pappadum is delicious and worth trying with the chutney as an appetizer! The classic blackberry pie was a delicious way to end the meal with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Service was very good and prompt. Relatively quiet restaurant when we came, with indoor and outdoor seating.
The food hit after a long hike. We ordered the momos, which were delicious, a basket of onion rings, and fish and chips. We also ordered the Sherpa stew, which was a big bowl of comfort. Everything was so tasty! The service was super fast! Our waiter took our order and the food came out about 10-15 min later, even though the restaurant was packed.
Wow!!! An unexpected restaurant in an unexpected location!!!! We thought it was just going to be a run in the mill dinner until we looked at the menu.... Himalayan Food!!! We sat outside to a nice well covered patio. Lots of room and not crowded. The patio overlooks a beautiful meadow. The inside is nice too. With real Mount Everest gear on display. We had the Chicken Thali, Pork Momos, and Papadum. The food was out of this world!!!! Good food is hard to find in Washington State. We are soooooo glad that we found this place. The staff were nice and friendly. The prices were very reasonable as well. We WILL be coming back here again!!!!
This restaurant is super unique bc they serve Himalayan food along with classic American foods. We come here every time we visit mt rainier since it's close to the entrance to Paradise. The food is flavorful and cooked to perfection. During previous visits, we've ordered onion rings and burgers which were fantastic. Service is quick and they have lots of infographics on the wall! This place is absolutely amazing. If you are looking for a filling and nutritious meal in Ashford with friendly staff and a lovely environment, go to Wildberry! Also, if you are someone who has an issue with non-American food or people not speaking perfect English, this is not the place for you! I'm surprised to see negative reviews from ignorant people who don't know this is a Nepalese restaurant with Nepalese staff and menu before going. Either be open minded or try the bar and grill across the street.

We ate here after exploring Mount Rainier. The outside atmosphere was nice . Chairs not comfy. They have a good selection of food both American and Himalayan. The best was pork momas they were so good 5*. We got thesummit burger a triple burger it was a good value for price if you're hungry and paid extra for onion rings. It wasnt amazing but great after hiking all day. Fish and chips for my son was alright again not amazing but he didn't complain. My husband got the chicken thali dish it was good ( no pic as it came later) but we all agreed the pork momas were the best .service was good but nothing special. We also got the mango drink which was so delicious. I'd recommend and would go again just for drink and momas. We were eyeing homemade Marion berry pie but was too pricey for us.

I feel like we got the last spot of the day and ordered in the last 35 mins before it closes. In $73, we got: - pork momos - 5/5- 8 pcs with yummy dipping sauce (contains sesame). Loved the good quality meat and flavorful dipping sauce. - chicken thali - 4/5- it comes with rice, yellow lentil soup, salad, pickle and chicken curry. The chicken curry and pickles were the best. I wish they reduced quantity of rice and added a roti/ bread as an option - berry pie and ice cream - 5/5- the pie was warm and gooey and it paired perfectly with the vanilla scoop ice cream. Huge portion size. Definitely to share! - chicken burger - 4.5/5- organic good quality chicken breast with yummy toppings. It was amazing. Only thing missing was good hot sauce to go with it. It comes with fries. Loved it!! Service was friendly and quick. Outdoor seating was pleasant.
This is a really intriguing Nepalese/American restaurant located right outside the west end of Mt. Rainier National Park. It's owned by a famous Sherpa, who has a small section of the restaurant as kind of a museum to display his accomplishments and allow guests to purchase merch. The restaurant offers free wifi, which was unexpected! I thought it would be empty when we visited for linner at 3PM, but they actually had a decent number of customers inside. Chicken Thali ($22.99) - Quite an array of small dishes comes with this meal. Firstly a bit of lentil dahl, taking inspiration from the link with India. Flavorful with turmeric, allium, curry, cumin, and other spices, smooth and easy to eat. There's a kind of carrot and pea slaw, quite spicy actually, and also pleasingly piquant. Fresh veggies fill another side tray, and finally we run into the main two dishes. Firstly, perfectly cooked basmati rice, moist but with a nice tender yet firm texture. There's then boneless chicken thigh chunks in a very flavorful gravy that seems to be tomato based and seasoned very well. This is stewed, so it's a bit dry, but the gravy and rice make a great accompaniment. (4/5) Sherpa Stew ($15.99) - Very vegetal and meaty tasty stew. It's a thick stew with tons of ingredients packed inside, including carrot, onion, and celery hand chopped into larger chunks. They veggies are softened but not mushy at all and instead still have a bit of a body. There are also green beans to round out the veggies, and then for the meat a good number of beef chunks. The soup is thickened into almost a gravy. I think it's mirepoix and tomato based, but I'm not certain. Regardless of ingredients, it's very flavorful. Overall, it's a very hearty homestyle stew, which seems especially great for after a long winter hike. (4/5) Pork Momo ($15.99) - These seem to be homemade dumplings, with a thicker chewy wrapper, not doughy, and with a great pleating technique that ensures an even cook throughout. The filling is a compact, dense meatball, juicy, with the flavor of cumin, pork, and aromatics. The momos are served with a tomato chutney that also seems to be homemade. It's blended but still a bit chunky. It tastes a bit like garlic, full of balanced umami, without any of the strong acidity from fresh tomatoes. The momo pleats catch the sauce perfectly when dipped in upside down. (4/5) Wildberry Restaurant was certainly a fun place to stop by for linner after hiking near Mt. Rainier! Considering that it's one of the very few restaurants in the area, it seems like a no brainer to visit for some good grub. Bathrooms - Two rooms that require code, which can be found on the back of the drink menu.
Delicious Nepalese & American restaurant just minutes outside Mt. Rainer park! We stopped here just before closing after a day at Mt. Rainer, and were seated right away. We sat outside on their large covered patio. Service was very fast and the food was good - I got the Chicken Thali. The chicken was tender in a delicious curry, and the lentil soup that came with was perfect for a cool rainy day. Would recommend for anyone stoping for dinner on the way out of the park!

Recommended by our guide from the Mt Rainier Expedition. We had a enjoyable meal. The service was amazing. Food was delicious. We especially like the homemade Marion Blackberry pie! If you have time, take a look at the Sherpa exhibit. It will make the meal even more memorable. read more
One of the few restaurants near rainier and it offers some Himalayan dishes and the regular American. We were seated outside and served immediately. Ordered two chicken Thalis which were out in minutes. Now listen after a long hike I'll gladly welcome the rice, chicken curry and daal. The actual food itself tasted homemade, you could taste the spices really. However it was nothing home to write about, the daal lacked salt and the chicken was watery. You are also paying a premium since it's one of the few spots near the park which is expected. I think overall it's a charming spot and good for a quick, reliable meal. read more
I got the Kukhura (Chicken) Thali (3/5), which was ok. It tasted like an Indian curry with chicken; it wasn't a lot of chicken for $25. The service was ok; we got our food moderately quickly, but you get your own water and refreshments (3.5/5). We sat out on the patio which was nice in the shade with the breeze (4/5). read more

Was staying across the street at Alexander's lodge. This is one of the only decent options nearby. So decided to give a try. They have indoor and outdoor (covered) seating. The server helped is get a table quickly. Ordered a few things. It took some time for the order because the restaurant was packed. 1. Fish and Chips: These were decent tasting and the fries were nice and crunchy. 2. Veg Thali: It came with chole (chickpea curry), rice and dal (lentil soup). Everything was tasty. 3. Dal (lentil soup): Kids basically ate this with a side of rice and they liked it. Overall the food and service were good. read more

Restaurant outside of Rainier National Park that serves burgers and Nepali food. The place is usually packed during meal times and is owned by a Sherpa mountaineer who has submitted Mount Everest many times. He even holds a world record. Service was prompt and efficient but not quite friendly. The food was a bit costly since it is in a semi-remote area but pretty good tasting. I recommend getting rice with the Sherpa stew for a filling hearty meal. I had leftovers. The chicken thali comes with some pickled and raw vegetables, rice, and lentil soup. The soup was good. This place popped up when I was searching for nearby restaurants with vegan options, so my friends and I dined here after a long day at Mount Rainier National Park. There was a little bit of a line, so we barely inched in before they stopped taking customers. First impressions is that this definitely has a mom and pop feel. We sat in a rather crowded patio, undoubtedly most of the diners were tourists much like us. The service was fairly prompt, and the food was decent. I will say that my Vegetarian Thali could have had a tad more salt, but I felt pretty nourished satiated. I think my companions felt similarly about their dishes. We were happy to have a little mix of vegetables and fresh ingredients after dining on snacks all day long. I only realized this upon leaving and looking at the restaurant website a week later, but this place is owned by well known sherpa (Lhakpa Gelu - he holds record for fastest ascent of Mount Everest) and his wife. They have a little nook displaying his mountaineering equipment and certificates and news stories documenting his amazing feat. read more

came by after a long day of hiking and got seated right away. service was super friendly and the food came out fast. we had the fish and fries, samosas, and a burger with onion rings, everything hit the spot. if we're back in mount rainier, we'd definitely stop by again. read more

We stopped here for a meal after our hike in Rainier National Park, and it was the perfect spot for it. Close to the Southwest entrance with delicious food, comfortable seating, and good service. We had the pork momo and chicken thali with the samosas for an appetizer. Everything was fresh and tested great! If we're ever back in the area we'll certainly stop by again read more
Very close to the Longmire visitor center before entering the park, this restaurant has a variety of American, Nepali and vegetarian food. Parking was overflowed to the street. Seating was in a shared table though they have smaller tables as well. There is indoor & outdoor seating. Food came relatively quickly. There is a lot of history here with memorabilia of treks to Mt Everest & Mt Rainier. For vegetarians, there is a Thali & samosas. The staff were quite busy & did not talk much- they were clearly working hard & fast, but you can get a good meal here. read more

This is a neat little place just a mile from the entrance to Mount Rainier national Park. It is owned by a Sherpa who set climbing records at Mount Everest, and has a display of his gear inside. The food was standard, but pretty tasty. The wife's veggie thali had a lot of flavor to it, as did my pork Momos. And the Marion blackberry pie, which is homemade, was a delicious dessert. read more

I did not like the food and he was nice to change it but started speaking his dialect with other staff right after. People should know that this is rude. I got the fish and chips and it was okay. read more
