Small store but they pack so much in! I always come here when I'm in town. My favorite part is the blind boxes because you can trade your pull with the display! For example, if you buy a blind box and open it, you can trade the one you got with the one on display. Rainy Day Anime is so awesome!!! I dropped in to pay a visit since I was driving down I-25, and I have no regrets! A lot of the manga I saw brought some hardcore nostalgia (I can't believe they had the Wallflower series!) and a great selection of figurines, I left with a 1/6 scale Bunny! ver Hatsune Miku figure. Not to mention an Aggretsuko wallet that I've fallen in love with, and I will most certainly be back for that gorgeous Rem figure I saw. 10/10! Stopped in so my granddaughter could look around as the are no anime stores near our home. Very nice variety of merchandise, prices are reasonable (Compared to other anime stores I've been in) and the staff was friendly, very helpful ! We found a number of items she wanted so she was very happy! The staff person answered every question, knew all of the characters she asked about, and went above & beyond during checkout. My receipt says the employee's name was "Erissa" but the person who helped us was a young man. (?) Whoever you are, thank you for your help today! I appreciated it very much! This is not a good comic book shop at all. It's kind of a big disappointment in fact. It's difficult to find first of all, the lighting is non-existent and the owner behind the counter is rude and makes you feel like you're some criminal if you don't pick up something and purchase it right away. I was looking for a particular comic book that had just been released and not only did he not know what I was talking about, he gave me an attitude about it. I thought it might have been a fluke and still believe in supporting local business, so I came back for cute gift ideas. The owner didn't like the fact that I was just browsing. My husband and I love this place. We used to go every Friday night after work. We were sad when we moved away and couldn't find anything remotely close to as awesome as this place. This place is for manga/ anime fans. You can get a lot of gently used books and anime. They often have brand new stuff like movies and wall scrolls. They have stuff there that is really only found in Japan. They host events and have sales often, which makes you feel like you are part of a community. They buy your used items and you can get cash or store credit. They even do gift certificates. We highly recommend this place! read more

I personally love Rainy Day! I moved not so long ago from out of state where we didn't even have an anime store at all. I'm at Rainy Day quite often and have never felt pressured to hurry or to buy something. They have a huuuge selection of manga and anime dvd's. As well as just a bunch of random adorable japanese things, even going to some cosplay costumes and props. This is also a great place for the average 3ds player, there's always at least 1 tag to be had at the store, generally more :3 Additionally if you're a regular customer and are looking for something in particular- a certain manga, comic book, anime dvd, stamp, pokemon plushie, whatever you want they will try and find and order one for you, great customer service! I would highly recommend this anime store to anyone, especially people who are just looking for 'something' kawaii. read more

This place is cool to check out. Lots of hard to find merchandise and friendly staff. The prices are a bit high on some items, but to be expected from a local business. You can't compare a small business with Ebay prices, but it's worth a little extra money. They also do store credit for trade ins. read more

We drove all the way from Denver and it was 100% worth it. They had a large selection of anime, manga, accessories,video games, and snacks. Slowly skimming through the manga isle I spotted about 10 series I had totally forgot about. If you can't find what you were originally looking for, skimming is a great way to find new materials. A video of Yu-Yu Hakusho was playing in the store which set a really good and nostalgic atmosphere. The community was really nice, in the backroom there is a gaming room where they have a huge HD-TV and video games, a popular place to play the new Smash Bros. For the Wii U. The fashion was really well crafted besides the bargain gear, its a nice starting point for cosplay and costumes. The best part would have to be the local artist section. They have a large selection of local artist drawings, trinkets, accessories, and cosplay things. Defiantly one of the best anime stores around Colorado. I was so excited to come see the store. We drove all the way from Denver, only to be disappointed. Although they do have a wide range of manga and other kawaii items like stationery and bags, they don't allow you to read the books. The guy at the register asked us to stop reading because we had to purchase the books first. I grabbed what I needed and left but this will most likely be the first and last time I shop here. If I had known their policy, I probably wouldn't have stopped by in the first place. Ooh well... read more

Finally went in here due to the begging of my daughter. Only two points to make: way overpriced. But the worst part? The employees (or owners) make you feel so uncomfortable in their shop. It's dead silent in there for the most part, until you hear person #1 whispering to person #2 at the register. Then person #2 giggles and shushes person #1. And then person #3 sitting on a chair just inside the back room STARING at you as you attempt to shop. Not planning on going back any time soon. Oh let's be honest - never going back. So I have been shopping here for the past 7 years once I was introduced to it by my friend. Yes it is a bit out of the way but you can't really do anything about that. I have never felt uncomfortable in the store and the employees always greet me and will shoot the breeze about our favorite anime and what new stuff they got in. They always let me try on their cosplay outfits and have never had a problem with just coming in to look around or pressure me into buying anything. Secondly, I'd like to say THIS IS NOT A COMIC BOOK SHOP! Of course they're not going to know about any of the new whatever it is that has come out. This is an ANIME shop it says so right in the store name! Also, their prices are more than fair, especially since the next closest shops are in Denver. I will be devastated if this place ever goes out of business and will continue shopping here for as long as I can! read more

Sure, they are one of the only places around the city to sell anime. Thats the only reason I can think of that this place is still in business. The fat girl behind the counter is too lazy to help you find what you are looking for and their products are WAY overpriced. Try ebay or amazon and you'll pay about half. Also the costumes and jewelry are things they purchased at Claires on clearance or bought at the Thriftstore to resell. I love shopping here for manga. Most of it is af a fair price for used volumes. The selection range is great to choice from. They have a backround more knockdown manga volumes even cheaper. They also take your old stuff for store credit. No hassle about what they take the only thing is don't bring in a lot at once. The more you bring, the less you get per piece. 1 armful will get you a better value than a boxful. The owner is very knowledgeable but one thing they don't like with the manga up front is your reading it. So read the back, and quickly flip through. They are not a library and do not like being used as one. This is fine form the most part but I have noticed the male co-owner is a bit quick on the jump so be careful. I wish they would give a few minutes so you can get a better idea o f story and art but I guess for the price he thinks it shouldn't matter. Coming in female owner (I am blanking on her name) is much calmer and she is easier going (although he gives better trade value). So learning to find out when is a shop day, browse day or trade day all depends on who is working! They sell manga, anime, accessories, music, wall scroll and more! They also host activities and show anime in the backroom. Also, local fan art is displayed and sold so far artists or fans, check it out! read more

I liked this place. There was a wide selection of items. Foods, cosplay, wigs, manga, anime, and Japanese style items. The items were a little over priced and by that I mean they were selling the items for the purchase price or more despite the fact that they were used. It's a good place to go when you don't want to wait for items to be shipped to you or when you can't find certain items online or in stores. Their items are in very good condition. Most of it is practically brand new. They have a section for 18+ that you can get at Barnes and Noble even if you aren't 18+ but they do have a wider range of 18+ manga. I sold some items to them today an I would really recommend taking the store credit over cash unless you really don't care about the items you are selling. Also, I would try selling items on eBay before going to them. They don't give you a great price for DVDs so definitely try eBay. Also, be aware they sell mostly only anime/manga items. I didn't see comic books or anything non-otaku related. read more
