Easily my favorite fast food spot. The chicken is always hot and crispy, the sauce is elite and gives the meal its flavor, and the toast is undefeated. Simple menu which annoys me everytime I get stuck behind someone confused on what to order, but always consistent. I actually think the chicken is better late at night because they're giving you freshly marinated pieces. I mean, it's consistent. It's good. Sometimes the fries are overdone. Sometimes the sauce is weak. But my problem is - they seem to have no problem staffing (looking in from outside - they have a full kitchen, but can't afford to have two people work out front?) They slashed their hours, but it wasn't updated anywhere for months. The drive thru wraps out into the street. It's good, but it's not that good. I would love to understand how the two suburb locations close very early because "staffing issues" yet campus has zero problems. Their business isn't so slow - the other location has 2-3 security guards directing traffic. So much traffic - they can't afford a better starting rate? They can't get more help? I want to be forgiving, but they're not a mom and pop store, and would love better communication from a National chain. read more

When she went to pay my daughter said "Hello" and the girl at the window just stuck out her hand for the card. The 9581 Sawmill Parkway canes location was the best customer service I have ever had from a canes. The young black man with dreads who took our order was fantastic and personable, he went above and beyond (give him a raise). There was a photo frame that fell off of the wall into our booth when someone opened the door and there was a gust of wind. Fresh, never frozen, tender chicken tenders. The first Raising Cane's opened in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1996. The Powell, Ohio location is the 11th Raising Canes in Ohio. This is a fast casual restaurant that has a very limited menu with the main focus being chicken tenders. Today I ordered the BOX COMBO- 4 Chicken Fingers, Crinkle-Cut Fries, One Cane's Sauce, Texas Toast, Coleslaw, Regular Drink (22oz) I love that they let you sub out stuff you don't like for more of what you do like. I always sub out the coleslaw for either more fries or toast. Today I choose more Texas toast. The tenders are not frozen, but fresh which makes a huge difference in the quality and the taste of chicken. The sauce is tasty and great for dipping everything on your plate. TIP - I love my ketchup! Grab a lid and fill it up with ketchup. They have a pop machine and both sweet and unsweetened teas. The sweet tea is my preference and I usually go for about 3 cups full it's that good. I left full, and happy from all the delicious food I ate and drank today. The staff was upbeat, happy and helpful from start to finish. What's not to like about this place, come for a visit and enjoy great food. read more

We stopped at this Cane's after seeing that the one at Sun Center closed at 6. Their hours were listed as 4-9 pm on a sign at the drive thru at Sawmill Pkwy. The line was wrapped around the building but it moved quickly enough that there wasn't time to get annoyed. They took our order, money and gave us our food so speedily, I was really impressed! The food was fabulous and the service was great. Would visit again!! Please give restaurants and their workers a break, everyone is short staffed and trying to do the best they can. One of the few fast food places I like to eat at. I like to call these guys the Chipotle of chicken fingers. Like Chipotle they have a very small and simple menu, in fact even smaller. The chicken here is real and marinated for 24 hours before cooking to order which is why it is so juicy. No fake processed chicken that's pressed through a screen into a pink mush that's then dyed white and stuffed into a nugget like they do at McDonalds. Just really good white meat breaded lightly and deep fried Their lemonade and sweet tea are made fresh daily and they use nothing but sugar to sweeten it when it's hot, the right way so the sugar caramelizes. The lemonade is made from lemons they squeeze in house, water, and sugar-that's it. You can't get drinks like that many places in Columbus for such a low price. Their trademark is the chicken fingers. I usually get the 3 finger combo which is about $6 and comes with crinkle cut fries and a piece of buttery thick Texas Toast and a fountain drink. The four finger combo is about a dollar more and comes with an extra finger and a creamy cole slaw. They have an even bigger combo called the Caniac. Then there is a sandwich option where you get your fingers on a bun and no toast. Regulars tip: you can order your sandwich on toast instead of the bun. All of these are served with their signature Canes sauce which is like a ketchupy ranch. They also have honey mustard for boring people. Kids meals come in a bag with a toy, usually a paper toy like a dog you can put together like a box. They are $4 and come with a drink cup that you get to keep and doesn't spill when your kids drop it in your car. Besides giant catering packs that's about it. Very simple small menu. The food here is so fresh and good and doesn't leave you feeling sick like after downing KFC chicken or a Long John silvers fried fish platter. read more

As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry for many years, I dont understand. I've had several folks talk about Cane's fried chicken. So, decided to give it a go recently. I wish I kept going by, nearly did. First off, I had to drive around the place one whole time to find the entrance. Entrance is not easily accessible. The parking lot is quite small. They do have a drive thru which was doing a fair amount of business, but makes parking even more challenging with the tight space. Inside, the place has limited seating. It was reasonable clean. If you are not familiar with their menu, all they serve is fried chicken. Just packaged in different combinations. Okay, the staff must really like it here. The place was quite noisy inside and it was not the patrons. It sounded like some sort of party was occurring in the back. It was quite the social hour there with the staff. That likely is why it took so long for me to be able to order and get my order. At one point, I had seen that a french fry had fallen off of someone's order onto the counter. One of the staff members was joking with a cook through the window to the kitchen. She picked up the fry and threw it at the cook. The menu is limited. As for my food, I ordered an 8 piece combo. The chicken fingers were good. There were a lot of fries that were really heavy with salt. There was a small cup of coleslaw and a large slice of Texas toast. Was it worth the price? Honestly, I would have had a better fried chicken meal from up the road. read more

What they make is chicken fingers and they make them well! If you want or need a cheap but tasty snack or you're taking the kids out and they will only eat certain things - then this is your joint! The fingers are good, the fries are ok, plenty to fill up on at the soda fountain, friendly staff and a nice clean place to sit and grub...what's not to like? They need to step up their game on their dipping sauces. Their Cane's sauce just didn't have the right zing for my taste buds (we ate in). So next time it's carry out and using some dipping sauce from home. read more

Awful management and customer service. We ordered through the drive thru and it was completely wrong, but we didn't notice until we got home. I called them but was not willing to go back out to pick up a corrected order, so the manager took my name and said to come in any time and they would take care of it. I went back in a few weeks later and asked for the manager to get the food we'd paid for previously, and a different manager this time said that there was no record of any of it. I showed her the credit card statement that has Cane's and what we paid--fairly easy to calculate that we purchased the three box combos as I said. She pulled out a black notebook that had little scraps of paper with notes sticking out of it, and our name wasn't on any of the little scraps of paper (which could have easily been lost in that mess) nor on the lined record where it should have been noted. The manager then went to the back to talk to someone else about this situation. We stood there at the counter for at least ten minutes and she didn't come back. We told the cashier that we were just going to leave and take it up with our credit card company, which we did. Seems pretty ridiculous over three messed up box combos. By the way, the cashier was very apologetic. Maybe they should make her a manager. So, I have two suggestions: 1. Drive down the road to a different Cane's, or skip it and cross the parking lot to go to City BBQ instead (they have chicken fingers there, too). 2. If you must go to the Powell Cane's, make sure you check your order while you are close enough to go back for them to correct it on the spot. They won't do it later. read more
