Decent food with good quality! Typically good food, never an issue with that. Have ordered several times for work lunches. The food is always good quality and arrives timely. Sometimes the alternates arn't quite right... but at least the food allergy requests were abided by. The only beef is that the small things get missed from time to time. Recent order nobody got their pickle with the sandwiches when all six of us wanted a pickle and my bread and additional condomints requests were not adhered to. A previous time I ordered a half sandwich and half salad and my sandwich had a tiny slice of tomato and one leaf of lettuce when I asked for extra lettuce AND tomato. Just kind of a bummer b/c the small things do add up and make a difference, but ... it's a busy lunch time establishment and I get that things get missed. We really wanted to like this place (it had a lot of hype) but sadly we were disappointed. First off our host was so hard to hear and understand. He seemed so confused by the menu and how to take orders... Then he ended up forgetting part of our order. When we tried to reiterate that he forgot something after receiving our receipt he seemed so confused and had trouble comprehending it. I felt bad for him, but if he is incapable of being a host, maybe it is best to put this kind of person somewhere else? Like making sandwiches instead? Or please retrain? We tried to wait at a table and chairs for our food but mostly everything was really dirty and gross... (not impressed) Then we got our food (rather quickly, which is good). The forgotten food was quickly then called out for by an older lady (who called our rather nastily at first). When my poor mom finally walked up for the food (upset at this point). The older lady obviously had got the hint and tried to act nicer... When we got home, one of the broccolis was old and gross and inedible as well. I think it is going to be a long time before we come back to this place. Please retrain, clean better and/or something to improve this place. Also, the other food was pretty good. Decided to give this place a try for lunch since I was in the mood for something light. I was expecting a small interior with a typical deli style counter, but it actually reminded me of Panera! I was really surprised! It's much more spacious than I thought. There were several options I wanted to try, but I chose the grilled chicken club with avocado and a side of fruit. It was delicious! I think there was honey mustard on it because I tasted a hint of sweetness and I loved it. The chicken was tender and sliced at a great thickness. It was the perfect sized meal and I felt comfortably full. My boyfriend ordered the McAlister's Club Wrap and enjoyed it so much that he went back for dinner! If you haven't ate here before you're missing out. Here at McAllister they serve food kind of like Panera bread. As you can see by the photos I had the chicken ceaser wrap with Spud chips and a fruit punch drink. First I want to say the ceaser wrap was very delicious, it had enough chicken, the right amount of ceaser dressing, and the wrap is wheat. Even though it's a light meal it still gives a full feeling. The spud chips for a side is what I chose and if you're a fan of kettle chips then you would like them. Overall I rate my meal a 10/10. Now my boyfriend as you can see had ordered a McAllisters club with a salad and a spud on the side with fruit punch as well. I don't eat pork and everything but his salad, had either bacon or ham so I didn't get the chance to try it but from his perspective his opinion on his meal was...."It's not hard to make a sandwhich but when they made this sandwhich they went above and beyond, Right amount of sauce, Right amount of meat, Bread is not to thick." He also stated it's a light meal but fulfilling as well. He rated his meal a 10/10. I will state I love how they give you a big enough cup to drink whatever beverage you need to enjoy your meal, and they do allow refills. I love Panera bread but I would rather go to McAllisters, you get more bang for your buck, so again if you haven't been or you've seen it and procrastinated about trying it. My wife and I checked out this neighborhood spot and were quite happy with our find!! Very quick friendly service. Very clean and good spacing in the dining room according to COVID needs and the ambiance is really good with lots of pictures from the local scene. I ordered the "pick two option" getting half French dip sandwich and another half Reuben. My wife got the Italian and broccoli cheddar soup. The French dip was AWESOME!!!!! If this was the only thing on the menu I'd rate this place 20 stars!! My wife loved the Italian too. The Reuben was tasty but..... there was not enough meat to fill out the bread and my wife said her soup tasted like it had been bought from Panera..... so I can't give it the highest rating but I would definitely come back. read more

In the time of covid, you have to update reviews. At the beginning of shutdown, I had delivery from here more than once. More than once, because I was craving that roast beef sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup. By no means is this going to "rock your world" - it's a franchisee deli, locally owned and operated, not a Michelin star restaurant. But the food is simple, tasty, and consistent. I don't order a sandwich and then hate it because something is suddenly off. Hell, they've never made a mistake on my order before (unlike fast food places that have trouble with "plain"). But for sandwiches, soups, salads? They're so simple, so "hit-the-spot" perfect in delivery, so friendly in service, and so clean inside, it's hard NOT to love them. I went before covid. I ordered from here lunch twice in a row this week (you know, just to make sure my review was legit ;) haha). The girls I sit with had ordered from there before and I decided, what the fudge. There was nothing fancy about the club sammie I ordered and it was very tasty. The honey mustard was a nice touch though! Day 2 I opted for more bacon because, duh! The Brookie is suck a nice surprise. I did not know if I was going to like it, but it made it to my day 2 order. Yes, I can eat the same thing twice in a row. Yes, I'm that person! Honestly, I like that they are rather fast on DoorDash. I ordered from work day 1 and today I worked from home, which was a little faster. I definitely will return. I arrived on a Saturday night to use my $5 coupon that was a birthday reward. There were 2 other customers in the dining area around 6 pm. The young guy behind the counter was helpful when I said it was my first time in. I tried to order the Choose 2: a half Harvest Chicken Salad Sandwich and half SW Chick & Avocado Salad. There was some confusion because I didn't specify salad and he thought I wanted the sandwich, so I received 2 half sandwiches. Weird. No wonder the manager who came to help at the register looked at me funny. I didn't get a receipt, so I don't know if the $5 was actually taken off my total. If it wasn't I don't want to know. :-) I also got a lemonade tea to drink and you can get sweet or unsweet. Sweet. The menu is pretty extensive, and what I had was good. Absolute ultimate fail I went into restaurant 10/26/2022 to order a lemonade and carrot cake. I waited 5-7 minutes for someone to acknowledge me. I finally ordered and then waited an additional 10 minutes to me told there was no carrot cake. I asked for a refund, and the associate said they refunded me, but in reality, they didn't. They gave me an employee clock out receipt and a receipt with a $10 charge. I talked with general manager who then told me I would be refunded correctly and I explained the rest of the situation. She said that's not how things are supposed to work and they would communicate to the team. Additionally, for my troubles, I was told I could come in 10/27 and they would have a carrot cake here for me. So, I drove to the restaurant to place the same order, and guess what.... My schedule changed so I called the shop to say I'd be there 15 minutes early and if the food could be ready that would be great. The guys said sure, it'll be ready. So I got there 15 minutes early and they had no order for me. After digging around for a good 5 minutes they found it... on the Grub Hub system... I guess they don't check GH very much. So I was already pretty hangry but they got to making my food. They finished quickly, and I was out the door before my originally scheduled pick up. Couldn't be too upset due to the prompt resolution. And the food was fine. Moral of the story? If you link from Yelp to order, don't do a future order. Everyone seems to love this, and I was underwhelmed, but it's not bad. It is not far off my commute, so I've been meaning to come in anyway. My first impressions were not good: the parking lot is a convoluted mess (not their fault, shared with Walmart, etc., but still.) Then, the facade, barely noticeable in the strip mall. Is this it? They got more friendly as time passed, and it wasn't awful, but I didn't really feel welcomed. Plus, it was slow. Need a refill? Put a sign on the table's pole, then wait. Then just head back to the counter and find someone. The manager came out partway through and was very friendly, so that helped. The food was okay. I started with a pick-two of the New Yorker (pastrami and corned beef) and chicken and dumplings soup. The sandwich was fine, though the bread was not up to the task and got wet and soft. Tasted good, but not amazing. The soup... Well, it was bland even for chicken and dumplings. Nice, comforting, but also not amazing. I wouldn't get either again. Still hungry, and curious about their Lenten egg salad promotion, I tried to get a small sandwich. No luck- get another pick two, or order a whole large sandwich. So, I went with a whole one. Very good croissant bun, egg salad which actually had some flavor (I make mine with salt, pepper, and garlic, plus occasional hot sauce.) Fresh lettuce and tomato. Pretty darn good. Nicely seasoned vegetables as a side. I had plenty left over. Prices are okay for what you get. The place is big, and unexceptional. It reminds me of Jason's Deli, in terms of size and decor, and menu. And the fact that I don't quite get the appeal of both. The plates are huge and unwieldy (as are the drinks,) and made it awkward to eat. I missed out on the sweet tea- they were making it- and sugar cookie- I was full. Even though this isn't a mom and pop deli it has some great foods and the prices are reasonable for portion size!! The soups are excellent and the salads are good!! The sandwiches are also worth the money !! The service has always been admirable sometimes during lunch or dinner hours it can get busy but I personally have never encountered a long wait time !!! I would recommend that if you are hungry and not looking for a fried chicken dinner this is the place to go!!! Deeply disappointed! We used to come often and really enjoyed the food. Last several times it is clear that the food quality has gone downhill. The infamous Mac and cheese recipe has changed and it's really awful. Salads look like old lettuce is used and barely any chicken on top. Seriously, I am sad that this restaurant has gone downhill. We always are excited about eating here but no more. Empty on a Saturday afternoon speaks volumes. In addition... I live really close to this location, so it's usually really easy to order online and just go in and grab my food. It's easiest as the front staff can be a little difficult at times whether due to not knowing the machines or whatever and I'm also usually working so it's really convenient and I can be home within 10 min. They assured me they're able to be used online, so like any normal person I say, "oh really? How so." "Well idk, but my manager says you can. Stopped in to fill a sandwich craving on the way to the zoo. Restaurant was clean, and the staff was patient, friendly, and attentive. I ordered the BLT-A. Your typical BLT with the addition of sliced avocado. The combo really worked, and if certainly get it again. I had the strawberry lemonade which was also excellent. For my side I had the potato salad. It was tasty, and probably better than most potato salad out. Also sampled the children's cheese pita pizza. It was soft, and not crispy at all. It was good, the cheese flavor and sauce were excellent, just don't expect it crisped. What on earth happened to McAllisters? We are regular customers (often more than once a week), but over the last few months, the service has been absolutely TERRIBLE! Today at lunch, the woman who delivered the food was angry, hostile, yelling at us and our guests. One persons food was delivered after the rest of us were nearly finished. We asked the woman who delivered the food for a refill on tea, and she said "I don't have time" and walked away. I brought my empty glass up to the counter, and it took forever to fill it up. I got yelled at because I wasn't standing in the right spot to hand my empty glass over the counter. I went back to ask for a refill on soda, but they refused to fill it up until they took the orders and rang up the food of the people in line. Who does that? I'm trying to enjoy my food, and all I want is a refill. I heard another woman tell the staff that it was the worst customer service ever. Many of the customers were talking about this- the woman at the next table had her food delivered cold. She said it happened last week, too- and now she will never return. This is sad- they used to be friendly- but not any more. Wow. Do the owners know? Everyone at the restaurant was talking about how angry and hostile the staff were. Yelling at everyone. This is a basic deli chain. It's not particularly special, but I like the "pick 2" menu and usually order the same thing: a half of a baked potato with veggies and cheese, coupled with chili or soup. The baked potato half is HUGE. The chili is on par with Wendy's. They have curbside and order ahead available so it's easy to order, go shopping at Walmart or Kroger, and then pick up lunch afterwards. read more

I have been waiting 10 years for McAlister's to come to Columbus, and oh happy day -- it's finally here! So here's the deal with me and McAlister's: I grew up on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere Louisiana, so eating out was most definitely a treat. I'm tellin' ya -- traveling an hour to Olive Garden was my jam, yo. Well fast forward to when I turned 18 and moved to the "big city" of Monroe (population ~50k). I thought I was in heaven when I found McAlister's Deli. My friends and I were there at least once a week having their delicious deli sandwiches, giant baked potatoes, sweet tea, and sometimes (read: always) a cookie. And here I am, in my 30s, and super excited that my favorite chain restaurant has finally come to town. Sure, Columbus has loads of amazing, local restaurants -- please don't put McAlister's in the same category. If you come expecting Wolf's Ridge or The Sycamore, you'll be sorely disappointed. But if you come here wanting simple, delicious food -- you'll leave a happy camper. In addition to the aforementioned items, McAlister's is famous for soups, salads, and hot sandwiches. Is a chain deli *really* five-stars worthy? Probably not. But is a walk down memory lane and a dash of nostalgia worth five stars? Absolutely. This particular McAlister's is shiny and new, and the staff are all fantastic -- very sweet and helpful. Sure, they have some kinks to work out, but I'm confident they'll get there. I even met the owner, Purvi (spelling?), and she could not have been lovelier. She's proud of her restaurant, and she genuinely loves what she's doing. As for the food? Just as I remember it, maybe better. Now they have gluten-free options -- perfect for the 30-something Bryant who can't eat wheat. Before you make the trek to McAlister's, please remember that much of my experience is based on nostalgia, so don't be all: "BRYANT TOLD ME TO DRIVE 30 MINUTES FROM THE CITY..."
