    Mini Gujarati thali
    Amruta F.

Mini Gujarati thali: Was great. The dal was very authentic Gujarati dal- a little bit sweet sour. Combo #2: it consists of 4 chapatis + 2 curries, Raita, pickle. This was good, but the okra I took was just fine, was expecting a amazing one as my friend had heightened it for me. Pros: Great food for a inexpensive price! Cons: Kinda casual dining, small place. Good for takeout though.

    Mini cocktail samosas

A small restaurant located behind an Indian grocery store. I have only tried their mini cocktail samosas which turned out to be delicious appetizers! They are very good. 3 mini cocktail samosas for $1 which is pretty decent. Very crisp and the pea potato filling was great too! They were a total hit at the party! However the mint chutney that came with the samosas was way too diluted and watery. The tamarind chutney was ok.

Mini Gujarati Thali with undhiyu and roti

Excellent little restaurant! We ordered the Gujarati thali and the combo #2 along with the moong daal wada and the Mohan thaal, puran poli. Everything was excellent! Really enjoyed the food.

Gross half frozen dahi puri! Buyers beware!

Fresh. Cleanest indian restaurant in the metroplex. Small place inside a grocery place, but refreshingly relaxing.

But, a few aspects of this place keep me from giving a strong rating. The vibe fits the south end of Bishop Arts, having a local hole in the wall quality. It was warm outside and the front is a large open wall, with no enclosed air conditioning. Air is moved with fans, which helped. But, it was quite humid inside and I would have appreciated more relief from the heat. There is an "order here" counter, but also QR codes on the tables that open a web page you can order from. It's weird to me to ask customers *in the store* to go through the hassle of entering credit card, phone number, billing address, etc. into a phone in order to get food brought to a table. I started this process and bailed on it cuz annoying, approaching the register at the counter instead. The staff member behind the counter said, "happy to take your order" and all was fine. Maybe this would be more convenient if I was a regular and there was a long line at the register. We ordered a 6 layer dip, side of Elote, and Birria tacos. The Elote was delicious. The dip was meh, having a top layer that was pureed and reminiscent of a baby food flavor I couldn't put my finger on. The chips provided were bland and obviously store bought, taking away from any impression of in-house freshness. The Birria takes were tasty, though served very hot. The sauce provided tasted like a Chamoy, rather than the red gravy I'm used to. If the dishes were more consistent, order process clearer, and air conditioning better controlled, I'd have scored higher.

From speed and accuracy to taste and freshness of orders, My Thai and Vegan has never disappointed. The My Thai and Vegan website makes ordering a breeze, the menu is expansive, and check-out process simple (especially if you've ordered from them before). I enjoy playing with their menu and have tried a number of offerings. My favs include their tofu basil fried rice, fresh veggie spring rolls, pad see eew, and vegan sesame "chikn" among others. I will say I tried their vegan rangoons and wasn't a fan, but it was just a matter of personal taste and not at all was My Thai and Vegan to blame. I appreciate and enjoy their custom spice levels as well as the number of add-ons/offerings/options their website offers to really make your meal your own. I have never had to wait for my to-go order to be ready and waiting for me when I arrive and pick-up has always been super speedy and simple. Service, although my interactions have been brief, has always been friendly and pleasant. Whenever work has me in the area you can bet I'll be grabbing lunch at some point from My Thai and Vegan. Looking forward to my next visit and meal.

She seemed to get more irritated when I asked her about selecting the sides on the kiosk. She was rude and made me feel as thought I was interrupting her as she scrolled on her phone. When my order was ready, the person in the back, rang a bell and put my food in the window. I watched my food order sit in the window as the host talked to 2 customers who were dining in. I asked the host if I was supposed to walk back there and get my own food out of the window. She said no...again, she seemed irritated that I interrupted her conversation. Food: The food is a 4 out of 5. I ordered cornbread and with " Just The Sides (4-sides):" 2 Mac and cheese, yams, and cabbage. I enjoyed everything except the Mac and cheese. I'm now sure what flavor is used...but I didn't care for that cashew cheese...hint of nutmeg or something... I can't pinpoint what's used...but whatever it was I didn't like it. However, the cabbage and yams were well seasoned and I definitely liked the cornbread. The next time I will get 2 servings of the yams!

It just feels very manufactured. The menu is varied. If you've read my reviews before, you know that I'm a Texa-fornian, so there are a lot of places in Texas that don't suit my palate (or my waist line.) I was easily able to find a couple of things that I would have enjoyed. Based solely on the calorie count, I picked the salmon with cauliflower rice. It was a little oily, but it was good. I cleaned the plate. It's dark inside, like a steakhouse. Not for me, but if that's your thing, you would be happy. It's clean the food's fresh and if you're a drinker, there is a lot of beer. They're known for massively tall "yard" servings of beer, though I didn't see anyone trying one on my lunchtime visit. They do have a good 4 pages of beers on the menu! The place has high ceilings with exposed pipes lending an industrial vibe. The menu helpfully marks vegetarian options as well as lower calorie choices. I was impressed to see power outlets along the purse hooks below the bar - if you wanted to bring a laptop and catch up on work emails, it'd be possible. Our waitress was business-like and a little unfriendly, and service was terribly slow. The food was good. Free refills on our drinks flowed freely. I tried a veggie burger which was a bit spicy and oaty. I wish I'd tried a salad! Still, I appreciated that they worked with me on reserving tables for a large group all with separate checks.
