This was not a busy evening and we were seated right away and able to give our order but, the server who should have been following up on us was unable too which led the only other server to be able to not be available as much. We ordered chaat which was nothing special, i make better at home and a masala pav bhaji with cheese which was also ok. It innovative but, the delivery lacked. The chai was good and i enjoyed that. I have never been to a vegetarian restaurant truth be told. Especially one that I truly enjoyed. My In-Laws are Vegetarian so they wanted to try out this place. I had an incredible experience here and the food was phenomenal all around. There were so many options on the menu and everything looked so appetizing. We ordered the pav bhaji which was probably our favorite dish. Next would probably be the bakri pizza or the dahi puri -- both were incredibly flavorful. I've tried Honest Restaurants many times over the last few years and sampled a variety of their dishes--rajma chawal, kadhi pakora, bhel, samosas, and especially their vegetable sandwich, which had been my favorite. However, I was very disappointed to recently learn that much of their food actually comes pre-prepared from India. That means it's not truly fresh, which was very surprising and honestly felt deceptive. While the sandwiches may be made fresh due to their nature, the rest of the menu just doesn't have the same appeal once you know this. The flavors are tasty, so if you're fine with pre-prepared food then you may still enjoy it. But for me, the lack of freshness and transparency has been a dealbreaker. We ordered a bunch of things off of the menu and everything was served in a timely manner. The food - Bhaji pav, Dabang Dosa, Kattapa Sandwich and Chinese bhel. The Pav Bhaji had that nostalgic Indian street style flavor, the Sandwich was a wild card loaded with cheese and good flavor while the Chinese bhel was loved by everyone for its fiery attitude and crunchy bits. The dosa, however, left us wanting for more. Overall, was this the best chaat that I've ever had? NO. Was this the best Honest restaurant that I've ever visited? NO. Is it good for the price? To be honest, this place was good not amazing. I had heard so much about this place, so I was very excited to try it out. Even on a week day afternoon it was relatively crowded. I have to say in comparison to other similar Indian restaurants, we felt like this place was slightly overpriced. The Dabang Dosa was good- almost like a dosa filled with veggies topped with cheese. The tomato chutney was pretty good. I'm not sure I would necessarily get it again, but it was different. The Bahubali Sandwich was like a fancy Bombay style sandwich. It is like a beet sandwich with pineapple chutney topped with cheese. Also different but not amazing. The one thing that was good was the serving size was pretty good for two people (we even took some home) and the presentation was good. The food also came out very quickly. This place has been a hit or miss for me. Out of 5 times I got food from here, 3 times it was amazing and 2 times it was a disappointment. Previously we had 'dabang dosa' 'bahubali sandwich' and 'paneer king sandwich'. That was all good. Last time we got a to go, it was all a stale and bad quality food. I would start by saying that avoid this restaurant and visit the one in McKinney. It is 100x better. The first time I went to this restaurant, I ordered vada pav and pav bhaji. Vada pav was way too oily like it was refried multiple times and pav bhaji was just meh. Not knowing any better, I went to this restaurant again and ordered masala tea, sev puri, vada pav, triple schezwan rice (TSR) and manchurian gravy (no gravy is served with TSR). Sev puri had so much sev that I had trouble finding the puri (check image). Also, there was no adequate amount of chutney which made it really dry. Vada pav had so much oil and butter that your cholestrol would jump up by several points and they even had sev in their vada pav! Manchurian gravy had a good taste (only thing that avoided a 1 star). Triple schezwan rice had paneer (who puts it in TSR), manchurian and gobi manchurian. Sadly there were no noodles in TSR. The manchurian was way too oily (seemed refried) and didn't taste good. I was in Irving and I read a lot of reviews about this place and wanted to try it out for myself. I ordered the pav bhaji & dahi puri for starters. They were quick with the service and I was really impressed. It did remind me of the authentic Indian food we get back home with an obviously 21st century touch to it! For the main course I had ordered Paneer paratha and Aloo Mutter. The paratha was soft and stuffing was ample, not too oily and the curry had just the right amount of spice and cooked to perfection. Overall, I'm satisfied with this experience and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try Indian vegetarian food. They also do have vegan options for anyone concerned. This review will explain all the food for Indian food newbies; those familiar with the cuisine should skip this part. I got a masala dosa (thin crepe made from fermented lentil batter, with spiced potato filling) and mysore cheese rava dosa (crepe made from semolina wheat flour, with spices and cheese) to go, both ordered mild. The potato filling came on the side, so the dosa didn't get soggy. Both were served with coconut chutney (a delicious thick sauce you dip the dosa in) and a big portion of sambar (a truly excellent lentil soup; one of the better ones I've tried, for sure.) Everything was *fantastic*: big portions for a good price (around $9- $10 per dosa), and super flavorful. We got our food take-out, and ate it in the car (as we were en route to the airport.) Since dosa is normally eaten with your hands, they didn't include any utensils, which meant we had to drink the soup. This wasn't a problem, but be warned - ask for a spoon if you want one! In December 2021 (as cases of COVID are starting to spike), employees all had masks inside, which I appreciate. If you're heading to or from DFW airport from Dallas, this is a super convenient stop, as it's right off the highway; you don't really have to go out of your way at all. Last week on Wednesday, one of my non Indian friend wanted to eat Indian food and come with me to patel brothers for shopping.
