The atmosphere is always light and welcoming, and the smells from the kitchen are amazing. Our absolute favorite appetizer is the calamari, the fried portion crispy and the squid tender. The Ramen is by far the best I've ever had, and have tried every one they have on the menu. Every one has its own depth of flavor that seems to get better with each bite. The amount you receive for the price is amazing as well! This is always a favorite place to go!
I go here multiple times a year, it is the best ramen spot hands down. The White Tonkotsu ramen is my go-to, the broth and eggs are my favorite part. The staff is always very nice, I never feel judged or rushed. Most of the time, I do not like when a restaurant doesn't have booths, but for some reason I find the vibe of the tables to be a nice touch. It's always clean, the staff seem to genuinely like working there.
Maybe i ordered the wrong thing but this was nasty . Spicy crab salad wasn't good either . It's kind of expensive for low grade food .
Great Sushi here. Very fresh. This is the one place that I make sure I sit at the sushi bar. Why you wait they serve you the best little salad. They have draft beer which always nice and a good selection of sake. I've had other dishes on other visits and nothing has ever disappointed. This place is worth a try
I was craving sushi and needed a place to celebrate the weekend was here so I went with my boyfriend for the first time. The sashimi was very fresh and drinks were perfect in taste. Beautiful presentations and the flavor DELIVERED. The paradise roll is my favorite mainly because of how unique it was to have a glazed banana in our roll! The ramen was ok, probably would say the sushi is better than the ramen in my opinion. The boiled egg for the ramen was overcooked. Service was kind and fairly fast for the amount of people there on a Friday dinner!
We were in town for a volleyball tournament in Bermuda Run, we searched Yelp and saw this place had good reviews, so why not! Really nice ambiance, when you first walk in you can see the sushi bar but the main dining area were surrounded by windows. Which was a nice atmosphere to look out & enjoy dinner. We order the chicken red spicy oil ramen which was amazing if you love spicy , flavors & ramen go for it ! We also had the pork gyoza rolls which were good, Shrimp shumai dumplings were a little mushy but not bad, we also ordered rolls that were listed on the boardas specials! One roll had shrimp tempura topped with salmon & spicy tuna. I loved that they were wrapped in a different paper. The other roll was a king lobster and shrimp roll with mango. I was so ready to dig in I literally forget the names, I believe one was the drama roll. And to end our night with tried the tempura cheesecake! Which was amazing!!!! Try it, I just wish it was fried a little longer. Towards the top it was still a little cold but it was great, so yummy! Our server was very attentive and super nice! If you are in the area please go! They also have Thai, hibachi and a very big menu for everyone's taste buds. We will be back!!!
Raku is our favorite sushi restaurant in the Triad area. They have great sushi (5/5) and ramen soup (5/5), and their other appetizers and food is really good too (4.5/5). The ambiance is casual and relaxed. The service is good (4/5), but is sometimes a little impersonal. In addition to the taste, food presentation is one of the highlights. They always make so a great job with making the food look good. My family highly recommends Raku.
We started this visit with some Duck Buns & Pork Buns the duck bun was delicious only thing I would change is the amount of green onions on it a little bit less would have made it perfect , the pork bun was good but I would do it without all the raw peanuts on it not a good combination all together they get 8 out of 10 We also got the fancy lobster rolls and California rolls along with some smoked salmon , shrimp,crab, sea urchin sashimi the service was very good and fast , since we were the only one inside at the time and because it was Christmas Eve we made sure to leave them a good tip
Though Sushi and Ramen are the go to items for many who dine here, this rather upscale spot offers a fairly varied menu, with some interesting items worth sampling - appetizers like Gyoza, Hamachi Kama. Duck Rolls, Scallion Pancakes, and Soft Shell Crab - and more: Dan Dan Noodles, traditional Benton Boxes, Hibachi & Teriyaki, and Poke Bowls! On this visit I was on my own but decided to sample several items, and settled on Dan Dan Noodles and the Soft Shell Crab appetizer. I also chose a large Kirin (25 ounces for $8.32, a seemingly odd price). The Soft Shell Crab was out first, accompanied by some unseasoned, undressed shredded lettuce with a bit of carrot ( utterly tasteless) and a cold, soy based sauce with a nice flavor. The crab was well coated in a tempura manner, and nicely fried. It was very tasty and was even better dipped in the sauce. Would order again, if I come again. The Dan Dan Noddles were out in another 5 minutes or so, and this is a large amount of food. I have tried this dish more than a few times (New Sichuan in Winston, Gourmet China in Greensboro, Super Wok in Cary) and this is the most against the norm version I've ever encountered, and a dish I would not consider reordering! This dish has several key components and a standard process of cooking and assembling. First the broth - there was little of it; it was brown rather than the traditional red, with a cloying taste and no discernible heat factor, thus the lack of red coloration. There were no pickled mustard greens, another traditional item, though often excluded in the US due to availability - but the lack of it reduces the inherent complexity of this traditional Sichuan dish. The noodles were tasty but clumped together in a tangled mess, nearly impossible to untangle into an edible amount in any socially acceptable manner. Too much work for too little reward! Definitely not a reorder item. The environment here is pleasant, attractive, with soft colors and lighting, instrumental music playing soothingly in the background. The service was good, attentive and personable. They charge a onerous 4% for credit card use ( and their "suggested" tip is based on full amount including sales tax and CC charge), and as is my practice I reduced the tip by an equivalent amount, and any tip, however adjusted is based on the the check total less sales tax, less CC charge! This pushing for more tips needs to be pushed back, strongly! Will ponder on a return visit, but probably not, there are other places with equal or better dishes at a better value.
This place is very good and the staff is also great! The "outside" patio room (which is really just a room with floor to ceiling windows) is really pretty and a nice spot to sit. Its actually bright yet tranquil with their super long LED fireplace in the wall. I have not sat inside yet because I just like the brightness and feel of that enclosed patio room. The sushi is very good (and this is coming from a NYC gal). Normally we get a bunch of rolls to share but this time my parents and I got the sushi boat and it was delish. We don't like soft shell crab - and you can't substitute which was a bummer so we just left that one roll and didn't eat it. Our server overheard me talking and must have heard me mention it was my dad's birthday or heard me say happy birthday while we were toasting with our Sake but they surprised us with a birthday dessert with a candle. It was super cute. Every time I fly in this is a must stop on the way to or from the airport! There is a different price for Cash vs Credit Card and if you sign up for their emails you get a Birthday discount
My most recent visit to Raku was just as delicious as every other visit has been. There is not a single item I've tried here that hasn't been delicious. The service is always super friendly and this visit we sat in the sunroom on a sunny spring day for lunch. It was comfortable and not too warm or cool in there. I love sitting in this area of the restaurant and I think it's one of their best features of their dining room. This time I ordered a bento box with chicken since I couldn't decided between sushi and a hot item. It was the perfect combination of flavors I was looking for and I'll definitely order this again.
We've been to Raku many times since we moved to this area but I just realized I never posted a review. Every time we move somewhere new, the first thing I do is look for a good Japanese restaurant. Unfortunately, there aren't any truly authentic ones here that are good (or I just haven't found one yet) but Raku at least serves decent sushi. It's not on their menu but they also have Takoyaki. The octopus inside is tiny but they're pretty good. The servers are always nice, though the service is on the slow side most of the time. read more
Got sushi to go one night and it was really very good. We called it in and picked it up at the drive thru window. We ordered a variety of items and each was good in its own rights. The person at the window was very kind and friendly, and made sure our order was correct before driving away. A first for a drive thru and it made our customer service experience much better. Veggie dumplings were good and had a nice sear to them, with juicy tasty filling these are good. The Yellowfin Poke, another good choice for us, a decent serving of succulent tuna with seaweed and a lite coating of seasame oil tossed with some seeds. The California roll was classically prepared and true to type. A decent roll with nice flavor and proportions. The Shrimp with mushrooms and broccoli, again a decent portion with lots of tender whole shrimp, sauteed mushrooms and steamed broccoli. This is a good meal as well, nicely prepared and good flavor. Then for dessert, we tried the Tempura fried Cheesecake, a decadent treat and interesting twist to cheesecake. Batter dipped and flash fried to golden brown, with a chocolate drizzle. Food was fresh and service was good. Went for lunch and got the 3 roll special. I added jalapeño to all of my rolls. Sat at the sushi bar and was given crab salad! Which was good! Restaurant was not busy at all for lunch, so very quiet and chill for a good break from the office. read more

Their lunch specials run from from 11am-3pm.The sushi was good. Ramen was good, but not super. The service was very quick and with plenty of seating available. Great spot for big groups. I would definitely order their sushi and ginger salad again. read more
Best sushi we've had in the Winston-Salem area - Raku has moved up to our top spot! I don't have stunning photos because we ordered delivery but WOW was this amazing. We ordered the Geisha roll, Rainbow roll, two spicy tuna rolls, and the shrimp shu mai. All were fantastic. The Geisha is a must have . The spicy tuna rolls were substantial and had a great kick mixed into the fish - not just a dollop of hot sauce on the regular tuna. Everything tasted fresh. Can't say that about many other "sushi" places around here unfortunately. I'm obsessed. If this were closer to downtown, I'd be there all the time. Excited to work my way through this menu. read more

This restaurant is absolutely phenomenal. We were traveling into Clemmons to visit a store there and checked this place out for dinner. It was easily one of the best meals we've had in years and the food was so much better than any comparable restaurants in the area. I had their season drink, the Merry Margarita, which was tasty. We tried the chapati and dumplings for appetizers. I had the crab salad and tom kha soup for dinner and my husband had several rolls, including the geisha roll other reviewers recommended. If you enjoy Asian food, they have dishes from several different countries and they did a fantastic job with all of them. Can't recommend this place highly enough! read more
Deeeeelish!! I e been looking for a good ramen place and this was recommended by several people that I've met. Started off with a nicely sized green salad with the carrot ginger dressing. Then we ordered some sushi and split a bowl of spicy oil ramen. What an excellent choice! The broth was incredible and the pork belly was so tender. Save yourself the disappointment and order the pork belly with the ramen if you can and are able to eat it! It's the best. The sushi rolls were all top of the line and made to order. I loved the two that had lobster salad. I think we ordered the Geisha, the Spicy Lobster roll and two others I just cannot remember. But either way, you'll enjoy it all! Service was prompt and the food brought out was perfectly spaced apart. We were able to move (my fiancé and I) from a small two person table to a larger table so we could fit all of our sushi on it! How kind. Ambiance was really impressive. The setup of the building was interesting because I think it used to be a drive through! The middle of the restaurant has the open sushi bar and it's exciting to see the chefs. The two sides of the building have really large glass windows, which are nice to look out of, especially on the beautiful evening like tonight that we went on. Will definitely be returning here! Wasn't able to order half the menu like I wanted to, so multiple trips back are necessary! read more
Finally decent sushi in NC...I have been following my favorite Yelpers and letting them experience the bad sushi in hopes that one would find a place worth going to and this was worth the wait. We came here on Friday evening to find a mostly filled restaurant. It took a while to decide because they have a good variety and I decided to go with Lindsay's recommended picks of the Superman and Titanic rolls, plus I got a regular freshwater eel and avocado and spicy tuna rolls. I usually don't care for any roll that has creme cheese, but the Superman roll was tasty. My favorite had to be the Titanic, which wasn't on the menu and our server told me to write it at the bottom of the menu. My wife got the Pad Se Ew with steak and said it was excellent (I don't mix my sushi with anything so I would take her word on it). My daughter from another mother got a Rainbow roll which she said was very good and some Shu Mai which she said was not that good. So far I do have to agree with others this is the best around for sushi. read more

We've been going to Raku for a few years by recommendations from friends. The experience is all around great. The food, the staff, the seating and wait time are always exceptional. If you enjoy authentic Japanese food and are anywhere remotely near Clemmons, NC... you've got to make a stop to Raku! We recommend fried rice, ramen bowls, crab salad, hibachi plates and their sushi is fresh and awesome! read more
First time at Raku Ramen and Sushi. I was pleased to see the menu and disappointed that I had to limit myself to a choice. I chose to start with the shumai shrimp steamed dumplings. They are pretty good, no complaints. I also had the black garlic ramen with pork belly, which was pretty good. The pork belly is fried crispy on the flat sides and tender, the seaweed had a nice texture, and the broth was balanced and full of garlicy goodness. I'd definitely have it again, and I hope to come back soon to try some of the sushi Our wait staff was extra attentive and friendly, but it was difficult to understand her with the mask. read more
First off, Raku Ramen and Sushi is absolutely delicious and should be on everyone's rotation of restaurants! I've been here a couple times now and each time I leave so happy! To start, their menu is filled with many delicious options but one thing I like is that it doesn't feel as overwhelming as other sushi restaurant menus can sometimes be. Next time I go I will definitely order a drink, but they have several different cocktails available that sounded great and they have a solid list of Sake as well. To start, I had the salmon roll and the rare Toro sashimi. The salmon roll was filled with flavor and had a delicious tempura crunch to it. Great size to it as well. The Toro here deserves a quick spotlight to its self... I have eaten at several sushi spots and can tell you this is a RARE FIND! This sashimi is the delicate belly-cut of the blue fin Tuna and because of the high fat content it has a unique buttery umami taste to it. This is the Wagyu steak of the sea. If you haven't had it before check it out!! It's a unique delicacy to try even if only to add to a food bucket list. Awesome experience and great freshness overall!! Finally, this is my go to spot for Ramen. This time I had the Yellow Miso ramen and I loved every last drop. The broth is delicious and the dish itself comes together so perfectly. This includes the custardy hard boiled egg that is just cooked and flavored to perfection. My one critique is that I wish the pork belly in the ramen had more seasoning to it. The pork belly is cooked perfectly, but I felt like it lacked penetrating flavor and overall tasted a bit plain. This is a great spot for a date night and times I have been were quiet and more intimate. Check this place out! You won't be disappointed! read more

A solid 4 stars. There's not much ramen in the Triad area & when I heard about Raku Ramen I'm like why not? Let's give it a try! My friends & I all ordered the Black garlic ramen while my partner & I shared their lunch sushi special, which you can pick any 2 rolls. We got the salmon roll & spicy tuna roll. Surprisingly, it was pretty good! It was fresh & interesting that in the spicy tuna they added panko into the mixture for that crunch texture! They all loved their ramen but in my opinion I just thought it was pretty good; It's not the best but it's solid. The broth had some flavor, I'd give it like a 3.5/5. I love how generous they are with the pork belly but (It's just me being picky lol) I wish the fat was rendered down a bit more. Overall, it's decent & I would try this place again. Maybe I'm going to try their ramen again to see if anything changes my mind, but for sure I would try more of their sushi options! read more
Twice now I've been to Raku: once for a quick lunch, then tonight for dinner. In both instances I came away impressed. I've not had better sashimi in this area, and the presentation was particularly nice -- even for someone like me who usually doesn't pay that much attention to how the dish looks. I do wish brown rice were an option, as I prefer it for a few reasons, but so be it. Otherwise I find it hard to think of anything I'd want to change about this place. And yes, sitting bar-side will put you in line for a little bonus, so consider skipping the tables if you visit. read more

This ramen is insane! It's so good and such a good portion. I've only tried the pork belly but bet the others are just as delicious. I do wish there was about double the amount of pork belly because it melts in your booth Ready for soup season asap. read more

We stopped in one day for sushi and had a nice quick lunch. We both enjoyed our food the service was okay nothing special but not bad either. We got pretty basic rolls and a miso soup each and it was all good again nothing spectacular. The restaurant itself was well decorated and clean. It had a really nice vibe to it and there are a lot of seating options; seems like they get busy! The next time we ordered was take for take out. My husband was in a sushi mood and I wasn't but remembered they had ramen so decided to give that a try. If I was rating the ramen alone I would want to give 4.5/5 stars. It has a little less than what I'm used to topping wise and the noodles are different but the chicken is a great portion and it honestly was way better than expected taste wise. I definitely will be adding this to my rotation of soup cravings. Complete honesty my husband abandoned most of his sushi and I ended up sharing my ramen with him. It's safe to say if we both enjoyed it this much as a to go it's probably so much better dine in! read more

it was my son's birthday, and I asked him what he wanted for his birthday meal. He said Ramen, so we found a place on the route back home. The service was impeccable. They happily let me bring a birthday cake in and lit it and brought us fresh silverware and plates. They were very accommodating with making some substitutions to the Ramen bowls they offered we had quite a few things off the menu and everybody enjoyed it. read more

They have an enclosed "patio" equipped with big glass doors that they open when the weather is nice. Not dog friendly though.
