I felt like Ramen so the search began. Our area really lacks a diversity of Asian cuisine, but there a few gems if you look hard enough. Binki Cate has the potential to be a landmark for Ramen but there some work to do. First, this location seems to be a great spot but there has been like 3-5 different restaurants in the building over the last 10 years. I hope Binki stays. Ok, so I wanted Ramen but I don't think this is their wheelhouse. I think the main focus are the drinks and treats. I got the Miso chicken Raman and it was good...not great. The presentation was kinda wonky with a plastic bowl with clear wrap on top like a school lunch meal...wait...was this frozen and they just heated it up?? Hmmm...anyway the service was...functional. I was craving boba & Binki Cafe was close by. During past visits (+ their Charlotte location) they're usually busy and it can get a bit crowded, but luckily it wasn't and my order came out fast, about 8 minutes. I got the wintermelon milk tea, spicy popcorn chicken, & ube soft serve ice-cream w/ Oreo toppings. The wintermelon milk tea was good. The boba was decent but it was still nice & chewy. I requested my popcorn chicken to be spicy (they use dry seasoning) & it did had a nice kick, but the more I ate it, it became salty. Still ate the rest since it was my first meal & my partner helped me finish the rest, lol. The ube soft serve was really good! The cup portion is huge & the ube flavor is def there! Love that your 1st choice of toppings is free, & if you want additional toppings it's extra. Overall, Binki Cafe has became such a hit ever since they made their location in Winston-Salem. Again, I stated that I've been here a couple of times, but it's been quite a hit or miss for me personally. Last time I ordered their taro & Thai milk tea & it was underwhelming. Was not the biggest fan almost immediately after walking in. I walked in the door and said hello, the guy at the register didn't say anything. So once I actually got to the counter, I repeated myself and still not even a greeting. I ignored it and went to look at the menu. My sister was with me and mentioned that we have never been here. The guy said oh cool and that was it.. while standing at the counter overlooking the menu, one of the wait staff comes out with food on a tray reaches down to grab the plastic ware and just carelessly tosses it onto the tray and calls for the customer.. within five minutes of being there, I can already tell there was a huge lack of Customer Service. We continue to order food and our Boba drinks. I got the brown sugar milk tea, and my sister got the Taro. They were pretty good. Food wise, I ordered the Japanese curry.. it was pretty good. The sauce was a little too thick. Not cooked down enough.. My sister ordered the the chicken katsudon, wasn't too bad just extra salty with the garlic rice. I think we enjoyed the takoyaki over all of it. The floors were extremely sticky, as well as the tables.. not sure what's going on here, but I don't feel like I'll be coming back. read more

I was literally a few doors down at K-Stop and if you know me, when I'm outside for a while, I have to get my boba tea fix. This place is really cute and the staff was very friendly. It's ample seating in the inside. It actually bigger in the inside than I thought. They have quite a few menu items ranging from boba tea, ice cream, and even ramen. I opted to get the chai boba tea with oat milk. It was really good and I enjoyed it. The only thing was that I do like my boba chewy. I think it was a little too soft for me. And I do like ice in mine and it was barely any ice in it. Those are nit picky but it won't discourage me from trying them again. Ube. Everything. Always. I've been here for their boba tea but was thrilled to go in for ice cream. Now, I have to plan to go back for their food! We got the ube swirl, dirty boba, and the south end, banana turon. I love all things ube so the ube ice cream was a favorite. It had so much flavor and I love fruity pebbles on any dessert! I don't feel like this was the same place I went to a yelp event. I came in for lunch on Wednesday and it felt like the staff was bothered we were there. This might be a great place to pick up Boba tea to go but I wouldn't recommend staying to eat. The smell of cleaning products were overwhelming, which should have been my cue to leave. Sadly this place was pretty terrible and aspects of the meal were not edible. The chicken tasted old and like freezer/fridge burn. The sanitation score is 93. There was a rotten egg/sewage smell at one of the booths, the booths were sticky, the carrots were brown. I convinced my boyfriend to go there even though he told me it has been gross lately. I stuck my straw in the drink, took my first sip and was delighted with the results. The milk tea was just right, with the slightly nutty flavor of black tea coming through with just the right amount of sweetness, and it was even better when I got a boba pearl with it. The boba had the chewy, soft texture I'd come to expect, and the brown sugar flavor complemented the tea extremely well. It made me so excited to try the next flavor on my definite return visit! As someone who can't regularly enjoy boba without having to cook my own bubbles and mix my own teas, Binki's offerings are everything I dreamed they would be. If you're a boba gal like me, this is a great place to go! If you're lactose sensitive or just prefer non-dairy milk options in your boba, this place has you covered. The staff are always pretty nice and willing to answer questions about the menu or offer combo suggestions. They are usually younger (college aged ish) but don't give off that inconvenienced vibe that some college staff can. It's a great place to sit and chat! Fruit teas, milk teas, coffee series, galaxy series, Pearl lattes, smoothies, slushes, ice cream, sundaes, ice cream related drinks, and their take on a fruit and yogurt soda. Food includes various snacks, ramen and noodle bowls, and rice bowls. I found the ramen to be pretty filling. The Tonkotsu one has a nice flavored broth, a bit on the salty side. We have visited this location multiple times since it opened in Winston and love that we finally have a café dedicated to boba and unique drinks close by! The interior is always clean, and the staff is always ready to help. For this visit, we got an Oreo Milky Way Series. The Milky Way Series is basically a line of milkshakes. We have gotten their milkshakes before and they have a good flavor, though every time we get them, they seem like they are not cold enough and not very thick. This does cause the milkshake to melt faster, especially if the temperature is higher outside. Also, we requested for there not to be whipped cream on the Milky Way and it was printed on the label placed on the cup, though it was still put on top. read more

On a recent outing in the area we decided to stop by Binki and grab some Boba teas before heading back home. Our last visit was good, and can say this visit was no different! The staff was nice and friendly when taking our orders and we only had to wait for a few minutes before our drinks were made. I opted for the Red Velvet Milk tea with boba and it was a perfect sweet and refreshing way to end the afternoon. I do wish it had a little more ice as it wasn't as cold as I was hoping, but it was still delicious! Best bubble tea place in the area, but we don't have many options here in WS. The drinks taste amazing, I do have to order them less sweet here. I usually get 50% sweet but here I have to do 25% to enjoy the drink. I usually get the rose flavored tea and hubby gets a peach version and they are creat. The lychee gummies are great, soft, fresh tasting. We have not tried the actual traditional boba so can't comment on that. Though they have a sign about how committed they ate to the freshness of their boba. It's a hit or miss with how busy it can get, sometimes the music is way too loud, and sometimes the tables are not very clean. Other times both are great. I recommend studying the menu before you go in, if it's your first time as there is a lot! The menu changes often price and item wise. My sister and I went here for lunch the other day. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. Our favorite part was definitely thepanciy canton! Since both of us like a little bit of spice we had to add the chili oil to get it to the desired level of taste. Other than the spice level it does have some good flavors! The veggie ramen was not our favorite, with some extra chili oil and some spices it would be perfect. I also got the thai milk tea with boba. The boba is soft and chewy. It's not my favorite Thai tea that I've ever had but it was good. My sister doesn't like bubble tea but she really liked it from this place. I love how familiar boba is becoming! Popped in here on a Wednesday night and it wasn't very busy so we got our orders relatively quickly. Everything about the menu spoke to me. I'm not a fan of tea so I'm always looking for boba places that offer smoothies or slushes. Such a big variety of "toppings" for your drinks, flavors, and creative creations. Way too many for me to choose from! We tried the strawberry mango "Aurora" smoothie. Both were yum! It's like they have a slush on the bottom and ice cream on the top. The tapioca was also nice and soft. Staff were friendly and answered our questions, so no complaints about service. The food menu looked delish too and really had a fusion of Asian noms: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, even Filipino. If I hadn't already eaten I would've definitely ordered something. The place is spacious inside although I thought the wall art was a little disparate and wish it leaned more into Asian art only to match the broad Asian tastes on the menu. The interior of this shop is very cute with a handful of booths and tables for seating. I have been here for their grand opening and although the quality of their food isn't where I like it (especially the savory food), I find their sweets and drinks to be decent. My favorite is the tea galaxy series. Also, the variety of their menu and their innovation to open this store in Winston is also something to applaud. Today, my group and I ordered the halo halo and multiple servings of the ube soft serve to share. The halo halo was huge and although not really authentic had a lot of aspects of authentic halo halo. We wish there was stronger coconut milk flavors and more authentic toppings. The ube soft serve is probably the best thing here, although more on the artificial flavor side, the flavor is quite accurate and the soft serve is very creamy and smooth. This place is fairly newly opened in what used to be Curryfic's spot. I lament the closing of Curryfic still, but I digress. This place is clean and aesthetically pleasing inside. The menu boards are gorgeous, and the menu across the board is absolutely exhaustive. So many options for bubble teas and other such drinks. I haven't tried the hot food yet, but I will have to return for that. The ube ice cream and halo halo were refreshing and tasty, and staff seemed friendly despite being very busy. If you are looking for Boba drinks, this might be a good place for you, the food is mediocre at best. The prepackaged noodles that you just add water to, taste fresher! Chicken and beef taste horrible, I had to chew on a piece of beef for about a minute! Just don't waste your time and money on their food, go straight to the drinks. Their chicken popcorn appetizer was especially terrible. Inedible. Service is not bad, what looks like the owner of the restaurant, was calling numbers and serving, please stop chewing gum while doing so, it is disrespectful. Excited to know Binki is opening in Winston Salem! It was almost packed when I visited it around 5:30 on a weekday. My go to oolong milk tea with 25% sugar is decent. I tried 2 sundaes, both are good, uptown sundae (taro sundae topped with mochi bites), dirty boba sundae (sundae topped with boba and syrup, whip cream optional). I am biased on ice cream or frozen yogurt that serve with chewy toppings. What I don't enjoy is strawberry milk way and Seoul galaxy tea, although both look nice in color, they are not my cup of tea. Strawberry milk way is too sweet (maybe I will ask 0 sugar next time), Seoul galaxy does not deliver a good taste mix of pineapple and flower tea, pineapple tastes like jam, I didn't taste any freshness expected from a fruit tea. I will stick to my oolong until I am ready for another adventure at this location. read more

When I drank my rose tea, it was just bad. I can't even describe. There was some tea flavor (I think?), but god damn.
